Looks like 2015 QB Jay'ru Campbell and RB Michael Weber will be visiting Ohio State on April 6th. Campbell has already led Cass Tech to two state titles and he's only about to enter his Jr. year. Could Cass Tech be a pipeline for Ohio State to both the school and maybe the whole state that no one gives a damn about?

to be honest, i don't think jayru is going to be a big target for osu. he may have mobility, but it's been established that he's a passer first. wondering if/when michigan is going to offer him, but they seem to be taking a similar approach to QB offers that osu did this year. people were wondering about jayru's offer when both osu and michigan had offered only 1 2014 QB, not to mention evaluated the 2015 class.
there are plenty of high quality players in michigan and osu will definitely land some, just like osu can't land all of ohio's talent (which is much deeper than michigan's). don't see cass tech ever being a pipeline for anyone but michigan, though. that's not to say there won't be exceptions (damon webb, occasional glenville target that goes somewhere else, etc)
I have absolutely no issue with recruiting a pass first quarterback. In fact, the ONLY quarterback with an offer for 2014 right now is a pass first, run when needed QB. Watson broke the Georgia passing yards record as a Junior, he is most certainly a pass first guy that happens to be able to run a little
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
I don't have ESPN Insider, but here is a paid article and it sounds like tOSU is showing Jayru some love: Big 2015 Cass Tech QB set to visit OSU. If nothing else, there is enough interest to let him visit and at least it seems to build a better relationship with Cass Tech in general, even If Campbell doesn't end up in the 2015 class. Cass Tech might not become the pipeline that Glenville is, but after reading the article, it seems like they are going for a Peachtree/Georgia or a Florida like pipeline into Michigan. One that really hasn't been established. Cass Tech would be the main school, but just Michigan in general I think is the bigger pipeline. Urban has Webb and is showing interest in players from Cass Tech in the 2015 and 2016 classes, plus other recruits in the state of M!ch!g@n and that he tried to pull (I believe) two players from Cass Tech in the 2013 class, it looks like Urban is at least trying to build a pipeline into both Cass Tech and M!ch!g@n and beat TSUN before they even play.
I don't know how much stock I'd put into Cass Tech being a "pipeline" to OSU or anyone not named Michigan. Webb is a huge get that Michigan wanted badly. Campbell seems to be destined for a high 4-star ranking and will also be a big get. It will be interesting to see if Michigan even offers Campbell. Still, even if Campbell goes to OSU, I still would be hesitant at calling Cass Tech a pipeline to OSU.

Agree Hail,
I think the comment was more along the lines of 'we'd like to build cass tech into a pipeline to osu' because they seem to turn out a high volume of D1 prospects ala, Glenville. Don't think anyone would dispute that currently the Cass pipeline flows swiftly to AA.

I think SFGOODY is right, I wasn't trying to say, and I don't think the article was trying to say that there is currently a pipeline from Cass Tech to anywhere but AA. I probably should have put in the whole title of the article (and you can read it and determine for yourself): Cass Tech Pipeline: Under Construction - Hell Week (there is even a comment says "open up that pipeline"). The pipeline might end up just being a "pipe dream" and Webb maybe the only player from Cass Tech to go to tOSU, but I think it's the fact that even a big name like Webb has committed and there are other big names looking. I think it would be like if Lattimore committed to you guys and then a lot of other Glenville's top players started looking seriously at you guys. Urban is starting to do the unthinkable and has started construction on a Cass Tech/State of MI pipeline. It may get dismantled before it is ever even built up close to a pipeline, but I think the article is more about Urban's plan and what could happen rather then what is. Does that make sense Hail? Again read the article if you want and determine for yourself.
It's not making it through the work filter, so I'll have to read it at home. I'll admit, I haven't been following recruiting closely for more than a couple of years. I guess I'm just hesitant to label any school a pipeline after receiving one (albeit a major one) verbal commitment and some other [high profile] kids visiting. Again, I haven't read the article yet, and I understand that the premise may be simply referring to "building" the pipeline.
I could be wrong, but it seems like most of the best Midwest talent visits Michigan, OSU, and ND as pretty much a standard. I can live with "OSU making inwards in Michigan," but maybe it's just "Pipeline" that's throwing me for a whirl. Look at Gholston and Krenzel. Again, I didn't follow recruiting back then, but I've read that Gholston received a very late offer from Michigan and the bridges had already been burned. Not sure if Krenzel was even offered by Michigan. Similarly with Pierre Woods and Frank Clark. I'm not sure if OSU even offered them---I know Willie Henry wasn't offered by OSU. Either way, I don't think anyone is calling either situation the start of a pipeline. I'll just be content with the occasional steal.

As scary as this sounds Hail, I agree with you and did as soon as I first saw the heading for this thread. One recruit is far from a "pipeline." Now do I expect Jayru and may be one other to possibly commit in the future...sure. Would I even then call it a pipeline...no. If OSU can land more from Cass, then yeah...it could be a pipeline. However, it's no where near what Tress and now Meyer have done or are doing with Cleveland Glenville. That's what I'd call a pipeline for sure.
