PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
alex11w RT @Derek11W: 2014 DE Lawrence Marshall just confirmed to me he has committed to Ohio State
Lawrence Marshall: 2014 Weakside defensive end. Southfield, Michigan
6'03" 205lbs for DE out of Michigan.
Read he is up to 215 now not a drastic change but would imagine hes perfect for WDE.
I think we must be looking at him at the viper spot, because there is no way a 205 pound kid can play DE at a major college.
That weight isn't updated, but remember the kid's only a junior in HS. We were pretty close to bringing in a 160 lb senior WR this last cycle.
He seems like a Viper candidate
I said the same thing when Ezekiel Elliott initally committed last winter it turned out for the best trust in Urban
stark county football
Couldn't agree more. Like Eze a year ago, I'm just not SUPER excited because a few of these names are more or less brand new to me. If Urban is allowing them to commit, it means he wants them in this class and that helps get me excited. Im all on board!
"Love my State, hate the football"
Downvote the thread all you want, The topic was started before the gray box went up. Saw Derek's tweet, and wasn't sure who he was. Not a negative thread title, I just had never hear of this player before.
+1 I'll upvote the thread, no need to hate!
Has a lot of the same raw talent Se'Von Pittman had in HS, maybe slightly less speed but good pass-rusher.
If you don't think he matters, look at the posts on the Michigan 247 board below lol, they're combusting. I would say easily a consensus 4* DE, and the 2nd best DE in Michigan (behind Malik McDowell). GREAT get for OSU, the fact that he's from Michigan is a huge bonus. Urban and Coombs are draining their lifeblood this year with Damon Webb and now Marshall. Lookout if we get Drake Harris or Malik McDowell as well.
It seems to be an up year for Michigan prep talent this year.
Real post. This is how those michigan clowns are thinking:
"If we get Lattimore, give them the top crop of players in Michigan for all I care. Lattimore = STUD. But there's no way we get Lattimore."
Another one I liked:
"I know DaShawn Hand has us in his top 5. I pray he gives us some real hard thought!!!"
Not gonna happen!
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
I really hope that Hand doesn't go to Michigan, seems like a hard guy to hate.
That was the only comment that made me laugh out loud literally. They have about as much chance at Hand as they do signing the Pope, who just resigned LOL.

My personal favorite from that thread "Urban's plan is smart, he wants to take our lifeline and he is doing it with EASE."
I personally loved when they called Urban "a sore loser..." Ummm, when has he ever been a loser?
they seem to be pretty upset.... but some are thinking they will land lattimore and won a recruiting battle with ferns... i didnt know or think we offered ferns
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
We wanted ferns just wasn't meant to be.
I believe he visited without an offer, decided Columbus/OSU was "too big" for him (coming from St. Clairsville), committed to UM, then we offered.
I want Lattimore...how realistic is it that he could end up at scUM?
He's ours to lose.
The 2012 National Champions.
Love pissing off the Michigan fan base. For the first time (maybe in a while?) were going into Michigan and taking their guys instead of vice versa. Love it.
There usually isn't much to go in and take from that state
The very top of the wolverine state is usually fairly elite, it just doesn't have any depth.
That's a good point. All of the Michigan and MSU fans are cursing Coach Meyer tonight; seriously they are all super pissed.
True. There are some GREAT individual athletes sprinkled through out the state but mainly in the South East of this state. But like you said, not a lot of depth so the teams themselves aren't on the same level as say HS teams from Ohio, Georgia, Florida, Texas, etc ... save an occasional team from Brother Rice, Cass or Farmington Harrison.
Trotwood-Madison. Once a Ram, Always a Ram.
Yes, it's amazing the talent that comes out of Cass Tech isn't it. The interesting thing about Michigan though is that in the northern part of the state it's kind of like Canada, things become heavily geared towards winter sports like hockey, skiing, snowboarding etc. Most of the prep athletes from Michigan tend to come from Flint, Detroit, Lansing areas. I have always considered it to be a damn good basketball state though too.
he is... a buckeye :)
~Because we couldn't go for three~
"Who is Lawrence Marshall"
I found him.
looks like he's ready to ball...must've started on the Mariotti program early
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
Does he remind anybody else of Tyquan Lewis?
I just pray that we don't deal with any sanctions or anything in Urban's tenure. I'd hate to give UM any more fuel for rationalization
Really that's what you chime in with lmao unbelievable. Anyway I like the pick up nice film he's got good speed a little thin but I see him adding more weight to that 6,3 6,4 frame and I think he's a versatile player he'll probaly drop back in coverage on some downs and rush the passer of course. Our D just keeps getting faster
When someone shows you who they are believe them! In other words piss a good friend off and see what they really think about you.
I'd like to win another decade against UM without the "Tressel was a cheater" rationalized excuses.
Ok I get now it's just you weren't specific in your first post but I see. And I didn't dv you by the way I couldn't even if I wanted too.
No worries, I've had a secret admirer or two for the past few months, so we'll chalk it up to that. If you've been on the board for some time, you'll see me voice my displeasure with some of the ways the program has been run in the past, and as a student, I think the integrity of the entrenched athletic institutions should be trying to grow at the same rate as the quality of the institution as a whole, which is improving undoubtedly year-to-year. I think the whole university, as a public entity, is harmed by the indescretions that have/may happen within the football program.
Very good point, as we raid them of their top offered talent, it'd suck if they had more ammo/rocks to sling at us.
There are pieces to this 2014 puzzle...expect Marshall to reel in McDowell and if that happens...then you'll all see why Urban took his pledge (not to mention...Marshall is a damn good DE too).
The OSU Flag is firmly planted in TSUN's soil and this is my face right now> :-))))))

Urban knows he's going to lose guys to scUM. Might as well return the favor if the Michigan kids are talented enought to play here.
