I was wondering is there a limit to how many walk-ons we can have? I've never really thought about it before but was wondering.

Put me in coach!
Our honor Defend!
It's the most important position in the game!! lol
I feel like all he has to do to solve this problem is have open tryouts. Over 50k kids go to OSU I bet he could find a handful of kids that can punt
I think its just a little harder then that to find a legit punter. But hopefully we won't have to punt all year, that would solve the problem.
I went to City Park on Saturday and only shanked one out into traffic. That was due to a slight pull of a "hammie". Still have four years of elgibility. Waiting by the phone Coach.

I don't think there is a limit to the number of players that can walk-on, but only 120 can dress for home games. Also, OSU used to only have 120 locker room spots at the WHAC but this a long time ago.
Thanks I've been wondering that for awhile now. So if we use all of our schollies we can have up to 35 walk-on players dress for any given game?
Pretty sure it's 105 as the limit to the size of the roster.
Yeah, he just found his mistake but thank you.
Plenty of time to find a kid to kick it 45 yards. They can teach mechanics. These high school kids aren't that well coached in the details. Back in the mid ninties, tsun had two walkons that ended up leading big in punting...
I think that's right brownsfan.
Thanks! Now I know and knowing is half the battle.
The limit for preseason camp is 105.
Unlmiited can dress for a home game.
70 can travel to away games.
I was totally wrong.

That really clears it up for me thank you. So it's more like 20 walk-ons after schollies.
Always need a good punter to help the defense. We can't score every posession, we need to find someone that can put the defense in a good position. I don't care if the punter just boots it out of the endzone everytime and they start at the 20. Just as long as they don't start at the 35-45 constaintly.
On a side note, I wish someone would have pushed me to punt in HS. I can pick up a ball a boot it 45-50 yards consistently with some pretty good hangtime. I feel like I missed an opportunity there given the fact punting was left for whoever couldn't play another position in most schools. I am sure there are some hidden gems around OSU if they made it a big deal and got a ton of people to try out. Heck, I still wonder why some girl soccer players aren't punters more often in college.
So you would average about 35 yards at best.
You need to kick it 17 yards to get to the line of scrimmage.
Wow, I usually dont make this kind of comment but whoever is stalking Brownsfan0623 and downvoting every single post he makes...you make my life seem so much better just by a simple comparison...so thank you!

I know right. I guess I must have rubbed someone the wrong way.
If it makes you feel any better I upvoted them all to compensate for that asshole.
Thanks but I'm not worried about it. Jerks will be Jerks. But it does explain why it took me so long to get to 100, lol.
Let my punters go.
Edit: Why do some pictures suddenly disappear on this site? They work, and then they don't.
Maybe punters across the nation are thinking exactly what we are hoping happens, OSU won't need to punt.
Shame, scaring them all off with superior offensive dominance. Oh well!
