There is plenty of confusion with Johnson's recruitment. Did he actually deceive the COACHING staff?

Is there any merit to the rumors swirling out there?

I don't know what he actually told the staff, but I think Alex said in an earlier thread that the staff didn't want him anywhere near Tennessee.

Maybe I shouldn't speak for Alex, I just thought I remembered he didn't think Johnson was very honest about the whole thing. Plus, just from comments the staff here have been making recently, it seems to me that they feel he pulled a pretty shady move making that visit. Of course it could be because he just completely lied to the 11W staff about the whole thing.

Agreed but judging from previous posts/comments, I really could not get an answer. But he did go shady on the 11W staff.

This was from Derek in the "Staff Picks" post yesterday.

Not being forthcoming and trying his best to deceive the public and the Ohio State staff about his official visit to Tennessee is concerning for Urban Meyer. Out of the three commits to take official visits elsewhere, Johnson seems most apt to leave the class, but the Buckeyes are still my pick until I hear something otherwise.

There are rumors that he deceived the coaching staff when he took his visit to UT... There are now rumors floating that he could flip and go to UF... They already have 4 LB commits. If he is looking for early playing time that might not be the right program. His high school coach said he expects Trey to sign with OSU tomorrow.

Yeah I have seen the conflicting reports with potentially UF and his coach's statements. Hearns decommited from UF recently. I do not see PT immediately at UF.

It's hard to say that based off of one incident. I mean he knew the staff wasn't crazy about him taking that visit, but he wanted to take it. I don't know. I don't think it was the correct way to go about it, but I don't think we should jump to any conclusions about the character of the kid.

Potentially. But definitely indecisiveness with one decommitment and still looking around at UT and maybe Florida. There were even Georgia Tech rumors.
