With Miami's current NCAA situation, why would they even license this hat? It feels like they are laughing in the face of the NCAA.
Even a high school kid should know that rocking this hat and all the gold would draw attention to the player and the program. That a player would commit to Miami at all, right now, has to raise questions about the priorities of the player and the program. This guy is the #3 WR in the country, he obviously had other options.
I know it's just a hat, but c'mon man.

Well since the NCAA totally screwed up their investigation of Miami, I'd probably be laughing at the NCAA, too. :)
Forget the hat, how about the Rolex and diamond crusted ring? The Gucci vest with real fur lining and Armani tie and dress shirt.
at least the hat doesn't lie!
I hate the fake Miami.

Seems like players/program is trying to sell everyone on what The U was in the past... they aren't the U anymore, and never will be. Build a new program with a new set of values and find some success that way.
From your comments it is obvious that you can't relate to the younger generation. Especially kids from the Miami area. For all we know he could have grew up a Canes fan and jumped at the opportunity to play for the U. If u watched this past Super Bowl you couldn't help but notice that both teams had big time play makers from Miami. I can admit that from an adults perspective that hat may seem to be "too much" but from a 17- 18 yr old point of view that hat probably is considered a "must get".
Uh, I still go to Ohio State. Hopefully I can still relate to my classmates.
As a student at Ohio State I also agree with you. But there's a reason we're at Ohio State and not at The U.
I don't follow. Is this a dig at Miami? Because they are an absolutely world class academic institution.

Can't...tell...if...sarcasm...*squints*
Guess not, no sarcasm font :-)

Nope. Miami is a really darn good school.

I meant it in the sense of how Miami portrays itself. To me, when I think of Miami I think of The U. That makes me think of all the things Nevin Shapiro has come out and said. Whether it's true or not I believe they embrace that style. I think a school should try to get away from that and have more class. But again that's just my opinion of how I see Miami and admittedly I have never visited so I could be very naive.
The U? Who is that?
Class of 2010.
I do believe they are a former king of college football....a king who was killed in front of millions in a desert by a guy wearing a sweater vest.
I think that's what a "Miami" is.

It is so obvious, so "LSU Freek," that it looks like a photoshop job.
Truth; still kicking fiction's muthaf***in' ass.
Meh. That just makes me want a "Buckeye Swag" hat.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Swag must be playing in front of a crowd so small that even the Dolans will laugh at you.
Seriously, "swag" is way too overused nowadays. It's as dry as the 'Zona desert.

Uh I actually like Miami but they deserve the ridicule they get for doing things like this. The funny thing is that Miami is actually an elitist prep school, kinda like Duke.
"Swag" is for little boys, "class" is for real men.
"Juice" is for real men!
