Don't think I've ever seen this kind of emotion at a ceremony like this. I hope Zeke becomes a special player and I think all of us can sympathize with the difficulty it was to leave his hometown school and not be with near hs parents, who he clearly has a very close relationship with. Huge props to his parents, the coaching staff and Zeke himself. EZ-E.
Great day

I sometimes felt a little frustrated by how this last month played out with Zeke, but this video -- and especially the obvious emotion that he felt -- makes me regret those feelings. I'm really glad to have him.
In what EzE said, as hard as it was to get his thoughts to words, it seemed that it was indeed his parents wanting him to head to Mizzou, or at least take a long hard look, rather than his own idea. Which is easily understood and would make it very, very tough on EzE. He was Buckeye all along as was noted by many and only followed through with this scenario out of respect for his parents. Much respect to him and the Bucks have signed some truly great kids!
Wow...I truly love this kid. I'm so glad I didn't say anything that I would've regretted at this point earlier when a lot of freaking out was going on. Nor am I judgemental towards the freaking out. I AM ASTONISHED at the classless immature hatred Ive seen towards kids produced by other fanbases on other forums. Just because you got duped by false third party rumors created by people who aren't who you think they are or you can't comprehend why a kid would want to play for anyone else besides the school they grew up rooting for, never makes it ok to put stuff out there that is harmful to kid and family, and your own image and fundamentals. Even at our worst at 11w, we never come close to some of the garbage I've read recently, and I don't mean the funny meltdowns we can laugh at. Plus sometimes, as we saw here ...the harder choice to make when picking between the hometown school and elseware...is picking elseware...yet some are spat on being accused of taking the easy way out to travel across the country far from family to play for a guarranteed winner.
More than ever, I'm proud to be a Buckeye, proud to be a part of this great site with such an amazing staff, and exctatic about the quality of young men that the coaches busted their tail to real in.
GO BUCKS!!! (Sorry for rambling, lack of sleep, lol)
BammBamm is my dog, Riley is my 4 yr old daughter, and THE Ohio state Buckeyes complete the three most sacred loves I cherish
I said this in another thread, but this was my favorite announce. Class act, and I know he is going to be special.... Just has that 'way' about him.
Thanks very much for posting this.
Damn. I hope Eze does good things. Seems like it that was what he wanted the whole time but just couldn't stand to hurt people.
I didn't hear one sigh from the hometown crowd. It seems they were 100% behind him regardless of his choice. What a testament to the type of kid he is, but also how much he is loved there.
This class is going to be great, but I have to admit Zeke is by far my favorite recruit of 2013.
Good player's make the play's they're suppose to, great player's make the play's they're NOT !!!
Holy hell man. Got me a little choked up. I was frustrated this past month, only because he had been recruiting for us so hard and if he would have flipped I would have been upset because I wanted a guy of his character on our team. I feel bad now that I was upset because this was obviously the hardest decisions he's ever made and might ever make. I'm happy he has been able to create his own path to his dreams. I'm going to be hoping like crazy this kid becomes one our greats. Can't wait to throw on his jersey in a couple years.
Welcome to your new home Zeke!
