First, I come in peace. I appreciate the enthusiasm you bring to this board and the work you're willing to put in to updating information. In particular, I appreciate the work you do with Twitter. My suggestion is you try consolidating your updates in a single thread similar to what GSW does with Quick Bits. Maybe call it something like Gray Box Reads Twitter So You Don't Have To. In any case, it might help us avoid posting a lot of duplicate information and maybe keep the recruiting forum a little tighter and easier to navigate. Again, love the enthusiasm and keep on with the Twitter.

Agree. Great posts centralized in one place would be ideal

I'm down for whatever. Gray Box, you're awesome! Thanks for all your hard work!
The 2012 National Champions.
I'm a big fan of what Gray adds to threads, but this is also a good suggestion.
Agreed 100%. It can get a little...off-putting when it's just rereading everything I've seen on Twitter. If I wanted to read Twitter, I would go to Twitter; however, your knowledge and drive is admirable: keep up the good work!
Couldn't agree more. Appreciate all the work Gray Box puts into the posts but condensing them into one would definitely work best.
I kinda like what he's being doing making threads for individual players and including tweets about them. It gives us one spot to talk about them for a while and saves me a lot of time scrolling through twitter. Great work Gray Box you and Gene make my hobby following OSU recruiting so much easier.

+1 Party! +1's For everyone! I appreciate all of the feedback guys as I'm always trying to improve my posting. If you guys can help me with some more suggestions, that would be great! Here's what I'd like some advise on. Most of the threads (not all of them, but most) go from anywhere from 50 to around 150 posts and/or are posted on for multiple days. A lot of my threads also get filled up with a lot of media, like photos and videos. Once a thread has too much media on it, it will make it hard for most computers to load (see my Signing Day thread as an example[although I don't recommend you trying to open it as it may slow down your computer]). So if I combine many threads we're now talking uptp hundreds of posts, on different topics, with so much media on it that it will bog down most computers. This also makes it hard to make a daily one like Gene, because one, he already has that, and two, a lot of my topics are not just commented on for multiple days, but new info comes in and the thread needs to be updated for days. Much like when Clifton Garrett just came for a visit and went to the Core 6 Showdown. There was a day with highlights and such, leading up to the visit, the visit itself, the Core 6 Showdown and a Florida offer and info. There actually was a thread for the Core 6 Showdown I made and then when I found out Garrett was visiting, I made one with highlights for just him. They could have been combined, but The Core 6 thread has 40 posts in it and the Garrett one has 71 posts and they are both media heavy. So we would end up with the same problem I just mentioned. Not, only that, but the Garrett one is still good for any updates. I've tried to post in the relative infomation in the Peppers and McMillian threads that others started and not start new ones (at least not yet) and the same can be done with the Garrett threads and a lot of my threads Most of my threads are more in the player profile vain (again not all of them, but most at this point). The info on these players comes out at different times and instead of having a lot of, lets say, James Quick, ect., threads at the same time on the Recruiting board. There are a lot of threads, but mainly on different topics now.
Now for the Twitter thing, I do post a lot of tweets, as I personally usually like to pass on the information (as the saying goes), "straight from the horses mouth", much like Gene does when he puts tweets in his Quick Bits (although as the feedback comes in I am changing my view on this somewhat). Sometimes it's just functionality and it's easier for me to embed a tweet then it is to type it out the information, in my own words, on my phone. Also, there are a lot of people on here that don't have twitter (believe it or not, I don't have a personal Twitter account, just one for my band that I don't follow recruits on, I just use my browser for recruits; I may get a personal one soon though). I could do a daily Twitter thing too, but there is plenty of info I get that isn't from Twitter. If you guys have noticed the new way I've been doing some of my threads, like: DALLIS TODD '14 CA WR - HIGHLIGHTS AND INFO, a lot of time went into that. I'm not just talking about time it takes finding the stats, the videos, the pics and all that info, but to code it so it comes out looking all nice for you guys. I don't have access to 11W's backend so I don't have the framework, or template, already made that I can easily plug in info to. I have to hand code most of the stuff I do and I'm limited to html. That's right, no java, css or any other languages. I have to do it all within the restrictions of what 11W forums will let me do even, so not even the full capabilities of html either.
As for Quick Bits, I post what I think is appropriate, but often times I think I end up stepping on Gene's toes or posting stuff that isn't Quick Bits worthy or is worthy of a new thread. So I don't put too much info in there as Gene know what he's doing and doesn't need me to post in there very often at all.
Now that you know my thought process and limitations, please let me know what your thoughts are on how I can improve my posting. I look forward to hearing what you guys think!
post scriptum: For all of you that made it through this long and drawn out diatribe of mine, I commend your persistence and wherewithal. I will give you an extra +1 if you let me know.
post post scriptum: Is it really up to me to point out the (for lack of a better word) irony of starting a new thread to tell me, in essence, to consolidate/have less threads?
I'm definitely in the camp that says you and Gene are my heroes, and make up part of the reason I'm on this site multiple times per
dayhour. Keep perfecting your craft, and keep up the great work.^^^^ Yes, yes, yes.

I appreciate what You and Gene do everyday! Couple clicks on the 'puter and I get all the info I need. To dig up all the info you fellas uncover everyday, I commend you both.
At first I just assumed that Gene and Gray were staff members, since they always had such great updates. For some time now I have been awe of how much time and effort these guys put into giving us quality information on a daily basis. Their obsession is my hobby.
Props also to the staff for allowing these roles. Seems weird when a day goes by and I haven't chatted with my friends.
i def appreciate what you guys do, if u feel more comfortable posting individual threads post individual threads. my comp and phone have never been too bogged down so which ever way you decide i appreciate the info!
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
+1 Nioce! Look at me I'm in a meme! I'm going to go
some random posts so celebrate!
You made it it! Top of the world ma...
Just a quick note to say you are killing it with the info & tweet embeds. Also, the NSD thread was sick. Obviously a lot of work went into that so good on you there.
If you need a name for a forum post, I was thinking something short & sweet like "Gray Box rocks the recruiting 'locks' like chicken pox I'm sick, quick to embed a tweet, your news from the street, here's a sweet ass forum post chock full of treats"
Too long?

This was the coolest thing I've seen made for this site as far as pics are concerned. Very cool and aesthetically pleasing;-) Anyone wanna play Xbox???? ;-)
