After the commit of Dontre Wilson OSU no has 3 guys in the top 12 40 times at the Opening. Gotta love that speed
3) Mike Mitchell- had him listed at 4.45 but he ran a 4.39 in the finals!!!
4) Ezekiel Elliott- 4.42
12) Dontre Wilson 4.51
Other notables in the Top 50
17) Jayme Thompson 4.54
26) Cameron Burrows 4.57
40) Eli Woodard 4.63
42) Jalin Marshall 4.66

Wait....our fastest guy is a linebacker?!?!?!?!?
"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
That's absurdly frightening if you are a qb at any other B1G school.
All the games of the season are just practices for that glorious saturday in November when we get to jack Shoelace's invisible cereal bowl and drink our fill of delicious skunkweasel tears ...Michigan Still Sucks!!
mike mitchell set a record for that sparq thing, he got like the highest score ever
This just doesn't seem fair. We should give other B1G teams a 10 point head start next year.
Except M!chigan, they don't get sh!t.

Those six words just made my night!!! LoL
I'm pretty sure that I read Marshall's time was messed up and he didn't want to run again... I believe he is a 4.4 guy also.
Dontre Wilson's Scout Profile lists him at a 4.4 40 and says:
The whole write up is worth visiting his profile to read (his highlight video is on there free to watch too): http://ohiostate.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=5205321: http://ohiostate.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=5205321
Marshall has been clocked at 4.4. I read that somewhere but not sure if it was electronically timed or what not, either way he's fast in pads.
I'm not concerned with any numbers. I trust these guys will put down the results we want from them on the field.
Very exciting! Further Buckeye dominance to come -- it's a great time to be a fan of the scarlet & gray!
This team will be like no other we have seen at The Ohio State University. You will see the difference we have seen in some of our worst bowl games vs the rest of the big ten. Not only are they fast, but they will be stout as well... Is it August yet?
In football the big don't eat the small. The quick eat the slow.

Where does Clark rank?
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
his highlight reel lists 4.38
Speed is nice but Pat White and Michael Vick never won titles. Nor did Oregon. Or Denard.
Speed is a valuable asset, but it isn't the be-all-end-all....which is why I am ecstatic to see the big guys we have lined up at D-line and work Warriner has done at O-line.
These speed guys at RB, WR, TE and on defense at CB and Safety are huge playmakers and a big deal that is really exciting, but they never reach their full potential with the big hosses opening the holes on O and locking down the number of choices available to the other team on D.
Don't get me wrong, I am super excited about Urban's speedy haul. It just seems to me sometimes people way overrate speed. There are other ways to be huge playmakers, and there are tons of guys with great speed that aren't true playmakers. Pair those facts with the need for big guys to do what they do and speed starts to take it proper place. Even then, you need a dude like Carlos Hyde to smash the other guy in the mouth when time needs wasting and mouths need smashing.
Urban is just amazing, really. The coaching staff he recruited is unbelievable and the haul he is bringing in is fantastic. Big guys, playmakers, speedy guys. I had no idea it would be this good this fast.
Great thoughts! Gotta have the total package of power, speed, size and strength to be truly dominant across the team. Those speedy little guys won't go anywhere without the big guys up front. Love the fast, athletic guys, but give me lots of those road-grader, nasty attitude O-linemen to start a team every time.
Agreed Cplunk ... Carlos Hyde is certainly not the fastest guy on the team, but he was very valuable this year with his hard-nosed running style between the tackles. I think you need a mix of big/strong and small/quick to be successful.
I completely agree. I think we can all agree it is always better than the alternative to be fast. It certainly is not the be all, end all, but it only helps. The thing Urban Meyer is doing, is he is seeking out the fastest team possible, but not just for the sake of being fast. He's looking for relentless players, guys who refuse to lose. He's pairing "speedster" types, much like he did at Florida with Rainey, Demps, Harvin, etc., but he's also integrating the bruisers like Hyde, Smith, and Dunn, into his packages at the skill positions.
This is something he's not yet done at the BCS-conference level, unless of course you put Tebow into that "bruiser" class. Then, if that's the case, just look at what he's done in the past with the speedster/bruiser combos. He's well on his way to something similar at Ohio State.

Agreed. I also think the Oline will be better than people think. Lisle and Gardner, along with Decker and Dodson will be nice pieces to the puzzle. The 14 kid from Glenville looks relentless too! I am not sure while some of the high rated tackles chose other schools, but there are a lot of talented 14 national kids that have TOSU high on their lists. We won't keep missing these kids.. I also like Warriner to develop them, not staying the exact same for four years like Walrus's boys..
If I didn't know the numbers above and was asked to guess which ones were the fastest I would have had them almost exactly opposite of what they are. I hope Mitchell plays that fast.
Guess I never realized that Eze's 40 time was faster than Dontre Wilson's
Good player's make the play's they're suppose to, great player's make the play's they're NOT !!!
