First off, I am new as a member to this site. It's been a great joy to have this fantastic source of information and discussion. I recently graduated from UW-Madison - as a buckeye fan - with a friend who went to J. Burroughs. He has direct access to a VERY reliable source within the school. Though he didn't want me to divulge either himself or the source (trust me it's a good one), he assured me that EZE will NOT be flipping from tOSU. Why EZE decided to visit Mizzou and remain quiet he couldn't say, but believe me this kid would love nothing more than for tOSU to lose a recruit and subsequently rub it in my face. I apologize for the lack of details and take this post as you will. I will just end by saying I am 100% convinced that EZE will stay a buckeye.

I got that very same question a lot at Wisco. For one thing, the business school there was more attuned to my major. For another, since I went to a small high school in NE Ohio and most of my friends went to tOSU or Miami (OH), I wanted to avoid having college be high school part 2. Also, the UW campus is right in the heart of Madison and a city atmosphere is very appealling to me. I feel all the more faithful as a Buckeye fan now that I have survived the temptation of school pride.
Do you get a lot of crap from the UW people? I would imagine so. They F'ing hate us.
I get it. BTW, I wasn't knocking you attending Wisky, just curious. It's not every day you hear a Buckeye fan say they graduated from UW.
TB19 - No worries, I figured with the Blazing Saddles reference it was all in good fun ha.
NB1959 - Yeah I was even surprised to find out how much Wisco hates tOSU. It might be because their historical rivals, Iowa and Minnesota, are not all that competitive nowadays. "Beat Ohio State" buttons and stickers are all over the place when we face off both in football and basketball. I don't see any other B1G stickers ha. My friends will tell me that besides me every buckeye fan is a horrible person, but it's like anywhere else where you meet one overly passionate fan and that becomes the whole fanbase. Mostly it's just talking a bit of smack. My frat brothers did throw me in Lake Mendota when I showed up to the 2010 (ouch) tailgate with buckeye gear on, but they did me a kindness by letting me remove my phone and wallet first. All in the game. If ever anyone is in Madison for a game, most people will invite you to the tailgate with the intention of friendly competition.
Thanks BIBL! I'd say that even though EzE has been pretty quiet, his dad's pro tOSU tweets would help reaffirm your sources feelings and insight on EzE staying with the good guys. It's always nice to get confirmation from a close and reliable source!
Thanks for the info...but most should have listened to 11W staff as well as others here and this wouldn't even be necessary. EzE stayed quiet bc our fan base started throwing stones over the Mizzu visit (at his Mother for crying out loud) as well as not wanting to be in the lime light. I personally appreciate him for this...bc most of this all attention on me stuff bothers me as it does others. No one is more important than the TEAM as far as I'm concerned. Will some be more important than others...of course. It's just not necessary IMO to go and have a televised announcement or whatever.

Tweet & timing of whatever this video is, is...interesting...Honestly, the whole Zeke recruitment is getting a little weird. Commits early, recruits for OSU harder than just about anyone & seems to be all Buckeye. Seems a humble kid not interested in the spotlight, just wants to play football. Visits Mizzou a few weeks before NSD & seems to waiver. Doesn't decommit, doesn't reaffirm. Stops talking, & frankly throws out some mixed messages. I was always very high on Zeke, & still am but I will say, this is all fairly odd. My personal opinion is that if a flip happens, at this point, maybe it's just the best for move for him to make. I know - I know, everyone expects him to be a Buckeye...I'm just not as sure anymore. Confusing situation. BTW, I'm not at all sh*t talking a young recruit here, just throwing out my observation.

I'm ready for his drama to be over... Doesn't make sense to me. If he is going to put 2 hats on the table then he should've decommitted. I don't understand the point of #Tigers either. He is supposed to be a Buckeye commit and he's just causing more drama. I know the Buckeye staff can't be happy about some of this crap.

The part of your comment that hit home with me was the part about the OSU staff & how they are taking what's happening..?? Certainly they would love to keep him - HE'S GOOD! On the other hand, from my perspective (a simple fan, not a coach) this would all seem to be something of a red flag, no? Kids waiver - it happens. They're kids. I can't imagine what's going through the OSU staff's minds... They've got to be frustrated to continue getting mixed messages from Zeke unless he told them he's 100% committed when Drayton and Herman visited. If he's going to be a proble during his recruitment about this situation, what's he going to be like once they're both in Columbus battling for time on the field?

I just can't seem to make sense of what's going on with EZ the last few weeks... From OSU's biggest cheerleader/recruiter to visits to missouri, changing his pic on twitter, etc. just not sure I get the change in behavior...

I too am worried, but we are so deep at RB that if EzE goes to Mizzou I will still root for him. Seems like a good kid. He is one of my favorite recuits, but I think EzE is seeing an opportunity to play early at home and continue the family tradition of going to Mizzou. At OSU he has Hyde, Hall, Dunn, Smith in front of him. I also believe Marshall and Wilson (although recruited more as WRs) will see time in the backfield as well.
I'm hoping for the best because EzE is a true RB prospect and a damn good one at that, IMO. Kind of reminds me a little of Giovani Bernard.
EDIT: Also... If Urban told him he would be the only RB recruit in this class, he may look at the pursuit of Wilson as a broken promise. (not that Urban did that, but just a thought)
can you imagine choosing to take handoffs from maty "moped" mauk and getting crushed by alabama, a&m, lsu, florida, south carolina, and georgia every year? automatic best case scenario for missou is 7th best team in their conference.
we are fine. we have so many running backs, i don't blame him. rod smith would start or play a lot at every other school in the BIG. he may be BURIED next year.

Surprised noone caught the tweet earlier this morning from him that said "the dude isnt that good." Could be reading to much into it, but with all the specualtion of Wilson committing, you've gotta be thinking it was about Wilson.
Funny thing is he and Wilson follow each other on twitter. I love Zeke, and would rather have him over Wilson..But wilson plays elite competition in Texas, Class 5A (ohio division 1)...Correct me if im wrong, but i thought Zeke plays in a class that Ohio would deem as division 3.
His school is definitely a small private one. But I don't know anything about high school football in MO.
I played against a couple of players that played for Div 4 and Div 5 Ohio Schools and they went to OSU and were starters on a Rose Bowl winning team.

If EZE flips to Mizzou, i wish him luck. No, the kid will never play in a big time game at Mizzou, and in seldom national televised games at that...but he has to do whats best for him.

Zeke wasn't affected by the whole waugh saga to begin with if I'm not mistaken. And the twitter handle is now conected to an account that is showcasing the idiots who tweet at recruits. Basically a finger wagging shame on you thing. Leave these kids alone or you will be called out in the twitterverse.

Think he is enduring a tough situation from all the external pressure from fans from both schools but mostly from OSU. It's sad really. I don't believe it is going to change his decision but still sad the stuff that some people will say to a kid on Twitter over HIS college choice. Effin ridiculous.

Just watched his Dad's latest YouTube video, and the very final shot is of him (Dad) with his arm around Urban Meyer, overlaid with a quote:
While I'm one who definitely thinks this whole recruitment has gotten really weird and that I have EZE fatigue at this point, it will baffle me if Dad's parting show is a picture of himself decked from head to toe in Buckeyes gear, arm around Urban, and thanking him for raising the bar... and then EZE flips to Mizzou. That just doesn't square with me, unless you read the "Thanks Urban" as a parting shot saying "Sorry you didn't win, but thanks for the memories."

Let's remember where this guy lives. He's probably had Pinkel and Mizzou's staff in his ear prior to and since he committed to Ohio State; and unlike the Bucks, they've probably made no bones about the fact that he's their highest targeted prospect. Granted, Meyer's a rediculously good recruiter--far better than Pinkel, by all indications--but Meyer's not offering to tailor his offense for EzE, while his Mizzou is--and simultaneouly offering him the whole "hometown hero" angle that kept Quick in Louisville. Even though he's been solid to OSU and an incomprable recruiter for the class, can you blame the guy for feeling a little tempted, especially while Meyer goes after a "slot" guy who's considered to be almost the exact same player that he is?
He's probably got a thousand guys buzzing in his ear to stay home: friends that are going to Mizzou and want to keep their relationship, relatives who want him to stay close (yes, his parents are sold to OSU, but what about everyone else?), and the numerous Mizzou fans that I'm sure he sees every day. By shutting things down till signing day he keeps the wolves relatively at bay. By all indications, Elliot's proved a standup guy--do you really think that he would up and abandon this class on signing day? My money says that Meyer already knows his move (and since he hasn't decommitted, I'd put big money on him staying Buckeye), while everyone in St. Louis thinks that he's weighing his options. This allows him to sign and fax that letter of intent without having everyone around him trying to influence him to change his mind and stay home. If I were in his shoes, it would be my strategy, at least.

Great points Hodge & Andy, you're bright, level headed guys. That said, I still see potential for a flip. That's just my own interpretation of the events of the past couple of weeks, which, I imagine we can at least all agree have been somewhat odd. It's not fear though. My only fears in this world are that my kid (soon to be kids!) turn out ok. All this recruiting stuff is just something to follow & have fun with while there is no real football to obsess over...it's not all that important in the scheme of things..
Here's to hoping you're both right, and I'm way off base. As for rabid speculation, if you commit somewhere, visit another school, then go completely silent without either de-committing or reaffirming - your opening yourself up for some speculation. It's to be expected, especially when you're as coveted a recruit as this young man is. Whatever the case, it's all in good fun for me & I'll harbor no ill will should he play elsewhere & be quite pleased if he decides to play in Columbus.

It's a video recycling the experiences their child was blessed with. Its something he will be able to hold onto when he's older which is super cool.
I talked to someone tonight that is a bit connected to the situation and they basically said there is nothing to worry about here.
A home video by his dad was not trying to depict any message about where EzE lands, IMO.

If I were in his shoes I probably would. He was upfront and honest about his visit with the staff, he wanted to give Mizzou a courtesy visit and people flipped out tweeting him and family. It wouldn't change my opinion of the school at all, but you can damn well bet I'd want to give the people harrassing my family and me a little bit of a hard time.
Well now that Biddle says he's all Buckeyes...it must be fact right...??? Just stop it ppl...there's one reason why he chose to make OSU fans sweat his decision...it's bc of stupid tweets to him and his parents by stupid ass obnoxious fans. I'm not reading anything into the latest video Elliott's dad posted on youtube, but man, reading through the comments section, I was a little embarrassed by the back and forth of OSU and Missouri fans about where Eze should go and over which school was better or who had a better football program. It read like a bunch of whining elementary school kids going back and forth.
I wish Ohio State fans (if indeed those tweets are from Buckeye fans instead of being made of) would not post stupid junk on a recruits twitter....if they feel the need to tweet them at all.
From all accounts, it sounds like Ezekiel is a very smart and well rounded TEENAGER. Give the kid a break. He just went from a big fish in a little pond, to all of a sudden being the attention of Buckeye Nation and Missouri. I'm sure it is a little overwhelming to have to handle people asking you every day where you are going to go to school. Not only in person, but by social media (facebook twitter etc). Just let the kid make a choice based off what is right for him and his family and wish the young man the best of luck.
