Marshon would be a Buckeye by now, except Ginn Sr. told him to hold off until after their season to commit so other schools' scouts would visit Glenville and the other players would receive some looks. Booker or Parris Campbell would be my current guess for next commit.
Did Campbell ever get an offer? I knew it was reported once but he came out and said he hadn't gotten one yet.

Kinda thinking it will be an Ohio kid. Less than half of the '13 class was from Ohio and the general consensus is that this class will be the same, if not more national (shit, Georgia). This all adds up to limited space and the "Ohio" spots being somewhat elite. I'm fully ready to take some shit for this view, but the scope has broadened so much that I think that in-state kids will know that dawdling could be costly.
Trout or Jamarco would be best guesses for this weekend. Jones is bringing his momma with him which means business trip and we all know what happens when parents come to meet this staff. If Jones stays through Sunday as is being speculated gotta believe Urban closes him this weekend.

Trout will be a Buck this weekend per everyone else I'd guess. Thinking it's a bit early for Jones but still wouldn't be surprised at all to see him make the call this weekend as well.

I would love to see a few commitments this weekend, but i think Berger will commit fairly soon. I believe he was slated to decide in April or May, but i just have a hunch it will be sooner. I don't have any proof this or insider info, my gut just tells me it'll happen sooner than April/May.

At one point he was a lock, then ND entered into the picure, I think. Then was it a matter of grades? Just curious as Springfield is my old stomping grounds.

ND was always in the picture. Rumor has it that the staff "put the brakes on" with him and told him not to commit (not commitable offer maybe?).
I think OSU coaches are waiting on other targets and feel they can get him anytime ( rightly or wrongly I suppose)

I haven't heard that yet. Even if he does slow it down, it doesn't mean we lost our large lead. He just wants to make sure he is making the right decision, and looking at all his options.
Every report of read has indicated that OSU has a substantial lead and no one else is even close.
Give me one of the 2014 kids out of Georgia. Hopefully it starts a chain reaction.
I'm sure Trout is on commit watch this weekend... Would be great to have 2 OL already committed for the 2014 class. I'd like to see a skill guy commit pretty soon too. Maybe Lonnie Johnson next weekend if the staff gives him the green light.
It's been like 2 days since I stirred anything up, so here goes:
I don't think that Marcelys Jones is 'committed' enough to build a class around. It would behoove Coach Meyer to tell Mr. Jones to retract his verbal and come back when he is ready to give a whole-hearted commitment.
It seems that Ginn Sr. will only allow under the radar kids to commit early while he holds the gun to our head for the highly rated kids.
I suggest we send a Western Union messenger boy to Mr. Ginn to explain that things have changed at The Ohio State University and there will be 100 scholar-athletes of national quality who will be competing for the annual class of 25.
Marcelys Jones is a 4 star rated guard ranked by 247Sports as the 92nd best player in the country. Hardly 'under the radar.' This is the game these kids play these days, and you do what you need to in order to secure the best class possible.

Jones is allowd to play any game he wants .... and we're allowed to tell him to take a flying.
Mr. Ginn should be aware that there is a new sheriff in town, and if he doesn't like it he can find a new program to play the recruiting games with. We've now had 2 years in a row where the little game went sour at the end, and I'd prefer he 'befriend' UM or ND so they can get screwed instead. Is Mr. Ginn looking out for these kids, or doing the self aggrandizing dance???
@1styear: Jones just hit the radar recently. When we 'found' him he was essentially unknown. Otherwise Mr. Ginn wouldn't have permitted what we are calling a COMMITMENT

agreed, all i ever thought about ginn was that he would have his real stars, like marshon lattimore, hold off on commiting so that other teams coaches could keep having to come to glenville and see other players as well, which i dont think is bad at all, and i think once jones find the right balance with his height and weight he could be dominant

You realize that almost all Glenville players that don't end up at OSU head up to Ann Arbor, right? You don't want Jones, Smith, Lattimore, etc. in maize and blue.

in all fairness to Mr.Ginn guys,he has had health issues to deal with and has been more hands off this year due to his situation. He has done plenty to help out troubled kids in his back yard and been a father figure to most as well(non FB players as well0. He's all OSU too. He could give a flying F who the coach is.He cares about his kids.He's part of the solution-not part of the problem!

He has said that we are his #1 with Florida in the picture as well. Low key recruit tho. Doesnt make alot of "noise" which is kinda nice actually.
