Good Lord! This is ridiculous. Now their story is that Urban is starting rumors that tsun coach has "multiple" NFL coaching offers in order to sway Jabrill Peppers. They are getting desperate now. This is just the beginning of this type of thing from them. They are all sweating pork chops, not just big Brady.
http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ohio-spreading-hoke-nfl-rumors

Actually it looks like most people are admitting this sounds pretty ridiculous, especially coming from chat sports. I'm also a member on MgoBlog, and the thread has 24 downvotes, and 0 upvotes.
I wouldn't admit that.
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
I think it is far too late for this guy. He cooked his own goose last night.
Oh no! SE Buckeye probably won't get away with just changing his name again. Now, I might never find out whether he is capable of posting a positive comment. The loss to science could be significant - not that I'm a scientist, or anything.
SE Buckeye wrote:
What's your name over there? BoSchembasher? Also, do you lecture and correct all the MoGo regulars similar to the service you provide here to 11W folks?
Finally, I don't understand why you won't humor me. All you have to do is make one - I repeat one! - positive comment and I will stop pestering you about it. It doesn't have to be fancy - maybe just a brief sentence, which will only take a few seconds to post. A few examples to get you started:
"Braxton Miller is awesome!"
"Urbz will take your soul."
"Hodge really knows his bourbons."
+1 for "Hodge really knows his bourbons."
That's funny shit, right there.
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
"Brady is a tool, Brady is a tool, Brady is a tool" will work for me!
This makes 0 sense on all kinds of levels....
No offense to Hoke, but why would anyone believe that he is receiving NFL interest at this point? Why would another coach say these things and expect a recruit to believe it?
We have heard exactly no one complain about urb negative recruiting. In fact the opposite with reeves/Williams last year. Why would he start it with this particular kid? Also if urb was going to negative recruit, one would think that he could come up with something better than that.
He wouldn't. People are destroying the source on MGoBlog.
No they're not. They've bought into it as if it were true.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
That's not what I'm reading.
Are we reading the same Mgo thread?
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
The one with a -27 rating, right?
Have you read the post?
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
I know the one that I am seeing has several posters agreeing and adding onto the Urban "myths." Confusing to me too, Bvs.TW
Yes, I read the post. I also read the responses.
Read them again. :/
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Dumb people will believe it, smart people will not. People disagree and read into things differently on this board too...
Not here to troll...Go Blue
So what your saying is that most of the Michigan folks believe it?.....hehe
Hmmmmm....wonder who voted on that......lol
Almost as funny as Tennessee's 247 Vol Board saying Urban leaked Vonn Bell going to Tennessee to the media, before Bell's official announcement, because Urban was upset/spitefull that Vonn chose UT over OSU.
The voting on that thread currently stands at 0 upvotes and 25 downvotes. Also, if you read the comments, it is clear that most mgobloggers think the rumors are BS.
I quit reading when it said he liked the tradition of Mike Hart. What part of overhyped, NFL flop, 0-4 did he like?
february 6 2013 and november 24 2012 say urban doesn't need that crap
the kids are playing their tail off, and the coaches are screwing it up! - JLS
Can we please stop starting threads about anything anyone from Michigan says? Man this is going to be a long offseason...
Anyone heard from SEBuckeye lately?
Alright since you've said that twice, I'm assuming SE Buckeye was some troll or bad poster you didn't like. I've been on this site for four months, and made dozens of posts. That would be a hell of a lot of effort for a troll. I'm just getting tired of these threads. I feel like I'm in the midst of bad middle school drama everytime one of them is started.
I don't care what random anonymous posters from MGoBlog said, nor do I care what UMs recruiting coordinator thinks about receiver speed.
Only once from me my good man. I believe Mr. Run_Fido was the other. A Mr. Run_Fido_Run. I am simply inquiring if anyone had heard from him is all. Never made one statement of any kind about it. You are the one doing that. This is an OSU blog that has OSU tilted discussions. And when this type of absolute horse shit lies comes from the mouths of the scUM idiots, the good people here need to know. The best advice is to avoid reading what you don't like.
Why do people here need to know that a handful of Michigan fans think Urban is negative recruiting?
Just because someone has an opinion doens't mean it had to be posted.
Sounds to me like some should practice what they preach.
Lou, I could have been wrong about Haymaker = SE Buckeye (I've been wrong about a great many things), but the (cyber) resemblence between the two commenters was uncanny. Plus, Haymaker seemed to appear right after SE Buckeye vanished.
I actually expected Haymaker to call me out the first time I called him SE Buckeye - it was a shot in the dark. But he never responded to me doing it! (which made me think my suspicions were right). Instead he picked on you, one of the nice guys around here (although you're appropriately less kind to all things Michigan). LOL.
Anyway, I was pretty hard on the guy, but he was a scold. Personally, I don't see it as critical analysis if it's always negative - at that point, it becomes almost like a kneejerk reaction. Criticism implies sorting between good and bad arguments/evidence/works, not contradicting everything in your path.
It's really easy to not read them...just close your web browser.
problem solved!
Also you should send your suggestions to the 11W staff if you do not like their Buckshot about scUM not looking for receiver speed. They're very nice guys. They might take your suggestions and take all the items off the site you do not like. Hit them up with an e-mail. You never know. Good luck.
what gives? I think you may be confused.
How are those two inconsistent? I'm a member because of the up-to-date sports news, not because of the opinions of posters.
overall you seem inconsistent to me. Maybe some of us at 11W aren't members of the Michigan site and are interested in some of the goings on there. You are not forced to click on any of these forum threads. You claim to not be a fan of this particular one's flavor, but you've posted in it at least 5 times.
I'm just tired of all "OMG look what he said!" threads, which are usually completely exaggerated anyways. It's like people look for things to get all worked up about. When this place sticks to analysis and news, it's much more enjoyable.
So the part about the scUM coaches that do not look for speed isn't news or analysis when that is what they actually stated? But you do not want to read about that either?
No, it's not analysis. The guy said one thing off the cuff about speed not being the most important factor in watching film, and everyone goes into a frenzied "OMG that's why the Big Ten sucks at recruiting" and "They'll never compete with us!" and "What an idiot!" Nobody bothers to check the actual data, which clearly shows that speed is not one of the most important traits in a wide receiver. It's just one tired, exaggerated narrative after another that's rarely based on facts.
This is what bothers me about sports in general these days. It's become just a story. The games are treated as secondary. It's all about the hype, the latest tweet, what a recruit had for breakfast, what the class rank was, what violation some program was accused of, what some player's odds are of winning the Heisman. College football is becoming a soap opera, and threads like this aren't helping.
With all due respect for someone that has 80 helmet stickers depending on how the rest of this thread shakes down, how can YOU of 80 helmet stickers be sick and tired of anything on 11w?
Looks like you get way too worked about that other guy getting way too worked up.
Once in a great while I'll go over to Mgoblog, and I might post something there. Maybe Game week and after recruiting. That's about it. As a Buckeye fan, I don't consider myself a "member" of Mgoblog, as Mr. Woodyhayeshaymaker does.
The dude is a Michelin fan and worse than a troll. He adds very little to the conversation. I'll be glad when he gets the hammer.
How many down votes does a person get before they get the axe, is my question?
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
If you post something there, you'd have to have a Mgoblue account right? And if you have an Mgoblue account that would make you "member" correct? Serious question..
Arthur Miller is from scUM? Damn, I used to enjoy his work.
Once this crap gets out there, we will hear it forever and here it goes. This is what they do. A patrons quote follows:
"Peppers isn't the only recruit who was told this lie."
"More than one recruit has mentioned to Hoke that OSU coaches are the source of the rumor and Brady has emphatically told the players that he will be at Michigan for as long as they will have him, hopefully for 20+ years. The guy is living his dream job and is as genuine as they come.”
That quote is in no way "from" MGoBlog. That quote (the second paragraph) is from a guy -- a wannabe sports investigative reporter at "chatsports.com" named Ace Williams. Ace has a terrible record, of being correct on a few trivial rumors, and wildly incorrect on more big rumors than anyone can count. Ace Williams has become a kind of avatar for broadcasting false rumors.
MGoBlog finds itself in the uncomfortable position of having to decide whether to make debunking Ace-rumors part of its regular business, or trying even harder to ignore him.
The rumors of Hoke going to the NFL seem to me to be completely inconceivable. What is odd to me is that anyone would think of believing any of them.
Whether that subject has come up in the form of negative recruiting, is another matter. If the only source is Ace Williams, I'd advise extreme caution.
So, in summary. This is not a rumor that has been initiated by Michigan fans. It is a rumor that in part (the substantive part; that "Hoke may go to the NFL") they'd all want to deny. As for the non-substantive part ("Ohio State is engaging in false negative recruiting"), nobody seems to have any good evidence. I'd be quite happy to hear that that part is false as well.
This is what posters at that blog are presenting. Just as it looks, as one post. True or not it is how shit starts and they are doing their part. Glad to know you are really a Buckeye fan BTW.
Coming to 11W tomorrow: Is Greg Mattison a former KKK member? Did Borges leave his wife? Does Fickell really have a long-lost stepbrother related to Fielding Yost?
Dude, I have opened two threads tonight and you are being a huge jerk to people on both of them for no reason. I think you need to close your browser and take a chill pill. I have no idea what your problem is with everyone.
I thought this was pretty funny lol, i don't understand the downvotes.
I'm going to remember this post if we ever find out that Greg Mattison actually is a former KKK member. I wonder how that would go over.
Class of 2010.
Meh, who cares about what people on the most overrated sports blog say anyway. That site is a joke. It's not nearly as great as the press it gets . Give me 11W anyday.
"Hoke will spend 5 years at Michigan, win a couple NCs (yes, that means 2 out of the next 3), and go to the NFL. Jim Harbaugh, who is bored after 2 straight Super Bowl championships, returns to Michigan.
5 years later, both win it all two more times at their new jobs, get bored and swap jobs.
Hit repeat a few times, until Mike Hart/Tyrone Wheatly/Kovacs/Denard/etc. is ready to assume the head coach job at Michigan." - Dutch Ferbert
Hahahahahaha I dont know, if this dude is serious or a troll. Hilarious comment...
lol at this point I would think Ohio State would have a better shot at landing Harbaugh than Michigan does.
You forgot former Heisman candidate, John Navarre. He never gets any love.
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
LOL, a coach, with a sub .500 coaching record, who doesn't wear a headset on the sideline....going to the NFL???
NOW, I've heard everything
(Just FYI, he doesn't have a sub .500 record)
He did before coming to M*chigan.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
He was 47-50 before arriving at M*CH*G*N so people refer to him as a below .500 coach because of that.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brady_Hoke
I understand that. But he's no longer a sub .500 coach, so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to keep that reference going.
Makes a whole lot of sense to me...he is a sub .500 bowl coach, he is sub .500 against tOSU, he is sub.500 in the MAC, he is sub 500 lbs...he is sub .500 more than not.
Funny how RichRod carries a career 124–87–2 record but he is scum of the earth to fans up north...
Believe me, Brady Hoke...is sub .500
His record in MAC play was 27-20, his record against OSU is 1-1, his bowl record his 2-2, and Rich Rod is 134-93-2. So basically, nothing you said is true.
Brady Hoke is still sub .500, that is pure truth
He's working hard to get to 500.......LBS!!!!!
I guess facts are frowned upon in this thread...
Probably something else that is frowned upon but hey well go with stats!
The real question is can he eat 500 subs
I should downvote you for asking that..
Of ccourse he can.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
That's not true. Rodriguez -- I'd very much agree -- is a hugely polarizing figure. But that polarization is because some people up here very carefully and very forcefully defend him.
This is why we should stay on OSU websites and they should stay on theirs. Sure, sure...it's funny to read the stupidity that comes with MBlog, BlackShoe Diaries of a....or Tenn or whomever. But this is why I say over and over again to the troll/idiot tTUN fans that come to 11W. M Man and Hail are ok at times...(yes...there...I said it;-) However...this dribble and out right lies that get spread there....are ridiculous as stated above from the original blogger.
"There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you."
"I love football. I think it is most wonderful game in world and I despise to lose."
Woody Hayes 1913 - 1987
I don't have a problem with either, but I'd say M Man is a great contributor. He realizes where he is and has never offered anything but insightful commentary on this site. I'd say he's more than OK sometimes. I find Hail to be a good contributor too, but in my opinion, M Man is better than a lot of commenters on this site, no matter who their team is.
M Man is an OSU fan, FWIW. I'm not even kidding. I know the guy who posts under the name, and he's an OSU fan.
He said he likes and respects Ohio State, except for 1 game per year.
You (Woody) OTOH are a scUM fan pretending to be otherwise. Am I wrong?
Huh?
We gotta meet. Because I have no idea who you are. And your saying that I am "an OSU fan" is so intriguing to me. Beyond my saying -- as everybody here knows -- that I very much like and respect the Buckeyes.
Here's a test for you. Without naming any names or getting too web-specific, describe some aspect of (1) how I am connected to the University of Michigan, and (2) how I might be connected to the Ohio State University.
M Man: Haymaker/SE Buckeye will not be able to respond, as his identity has been erased from the grid.
Let me answer how you are connected to the Ohio State University: you occassionally defend Rich Rodriguez's tenure at UM. As it turns out, RR was a Buckeye sleeper agent. He was trained in a secret lab in the basement of the John Glenn School of Public Affairs during summer sessions in 1999, while RR was still coach at Clemson. He was then sent back out into the coaching fraternity, with the mission of undermining the stragetic position of TTUN. The program succeeded briliantly.
Thus, every time that you defend RR, you are unwittingly working for us. Hence, you're a fellow Buckeye traveler.
Curses! You caught me! Time for me to bite on this cyanide capsu.......
Its worth noting that much of the MGo respondents seem to disagree, while (as I believe MMan has pointed out) this isn't even a rumor coming out of Mgo-it'd be the same as one of us posting something here from a website claiming Brady Hoke is doing the same thing about Meyer. That isn't what is happening here.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
Just FYI on what brought this about:
LOL, Bruce Feldman wrote that article alleging "more sketchy" recruiting by Meyer? He is salty he looked like a goon after reporting Bell committed to Tenn on NSD. Bruce Feldman has become a joke.
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's some funny assed people here. Shit!
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
I wish I had the 5 mins back I took to read this thread...
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
You read faster than me. It has taken me at least 10 minutes to get this far.
It would be a better rumor if this were about Stanford since they are considered his leader with us....
That was my first thoughts as well. If it was a rumor about David Shaw it would make more sense. Shaw's name has been linked to the NFL a lot lately and it would make sense for Peppers who has Stanford and Ohio State as his top two teams to be looking for as much information about both as possible. Quite the delusional fan base up North.
Wow. After reading all of that garbage I really only came away with one conclusion and that is I am even more thankful to be a Buckeye fan. Stay Classy TSUN.
SO what did the Feldman rumor about Urban say? Any ESPN insiders care to share?
Basically that some recruits have reported Urban negative recruiting and giving some less than accurate statements to them.
On your 18th post on the thread that you have berated from its inception? If I abhor something I stay away from it. You try to take it over. Two very interesting and very different approaches. Or since Feldman commented do you approve now as it has since became news?
some folks need to unwad their panties and take a deep breath. I come here for news about Ohio State and normally I enjoy this site, however I have less enjoyment when some folks act like dicks and for the most part for no real reason
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
I'm kind of enjoying see all the down votes WoodyHayesHaymaker is getting
imo opinion he has deserved every one of them. he would have a few more if my comp was working correctly, i almost have a 1000 stickers and i cant vote for some reason
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
Brady Hoke is weighing in at 499lbs. one salami sub away from 500lbs.
And that's a fact JACK!!!!!!!!!!!
you evidently haven't seen his salami subs.....after the next one he'll be pushing 502 lbs
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
Many Buckeye fans hated Meyer when he was recruiting at Florida. That's what happens when a good coach is in your backyard trying to take your talent! Remember everyone worked up over Urban allegedly telling a recruit about his "dream" and the kid jumping ship and going to Florida? Many of us believed that story at the time. I always said I don't care if it's true or not because recruiting is tough and he's one of the best. I couldn't do it. You hope all coaches are doing it right and I will assume they are until PROVEN otherwise.
The Feldman article is from 2008. Does it really matter anymore?

@LouGroza I'm just curious what you get out of flaming other fanbases, sites, coaches, and players. It seems to me like you are more concerned with what everyone else says/does. I'm not a mod, or even an OSU fan, but I just don't get the appeal. To each his own, but I personally can't take everything that I read at other fan sites literally. I especially don't see any point of me taking topics I see here, and running over to MgoBlog and share it as the Buckeye gospel. Lot's of generaliziation, IMO, and it is 90% flamebait. For the record, this has nothing to do with me being butthurt about negative Michigan comments or threads. I know where I am. Hell, I've lived within an hour of Columbus my whole life. I've heard it all and have really thick skin. There are just a lot of presumptions made that come across as a bit trite.
The "buffet table" thread, for instance, which discusses attrition at Michigan and presumes that Brady is pushing kids away or has lost control of his program. OSU's 2013 class was projected at 16-18 and you guys ended up with 25. How so? Normal attrition. 5th year guys with degrees that are buried on the depth chart leave. Kids transfer to get PT or be closer to home. Carreer-ending injuries. And, believe or not, some kids just realize they don't like playing college football.
I'm sorry to single you out. I know that there are much worse threads made. You know your stuff and leave good comments most of the time. I just think some of these threads are a reach.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!
~Bo Schembechler
I was going to respond to you calling me out but then realized I didn't care what you or any other scUM fan on this site thought, sorry. Try spending your days on your own teams blog, you'll hear what you want there. Going back three months to dig up some shit on me says a lot. And I will continue to bring this type of stuff to the attention of OSU fans that may or may not want to read it. It would be up to them. Sorry you don't approve.
Whether your a Michigan fan or an Ohio State fan, a lot of people agree that your posts are not informative or insightful. You are just calling other schools, players, recruits, and anyone not associated with Ohio State by derogatory names that high school kids use. It gets old, and I for one am tired of reading your BS that is consistently cluttering up this board.
You again? You're another one that is just infiltrating. Do you guys have unending number of usernames and accounts? When one leaves another pops up or are you all the same individual?
It's is seriously funny to me that you think I am a Michigan fan because I call you out for using imature nicknames and are consistentley talking about everything anti Michigan. You got me pegged man...smh
All the people who disagree with your comments must be Michigan fans and there is just an endless supply of "us" who want to troll this board just to get a rise out of you.
I do not make the stuff up as much as you are trying to state such. Valid stories that I would want to know about that affect my team. Other than calling your coach fat and your qb an attention monger, you are creating things just as Haymaker did.
Lou - Don't you find it a bit odd that you, an OSU fan on an OSU site, has received more downvotes(and far less upvotes) than an admitted UM fan on an OSU site? Think on that for a minute.
Very well written hail2victors9.

"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
I did a cursory reading of this post and its eloquent responses and I don't think I saw what I feel about these accusations.....
I hope they are true. I'm done giving a rats ass what the rest of the nation thinks about how Meyer is conducting himself. If he isn't 'cheating' then I'm all for whatever the hell he does. If he is in fact saying this, said recruit (who I'd assume is being recruited by other coaches as well) is within his right to ask these things. Let the accusations flow, let the butt hurt flow, let the recruits flow (into Columbus).
College football is a dirty, oily game and OSU has one of its supreme players at the helm of their behemoth. If money isn't changing hands, I don't give a damn how the great players get here. Do you know what happens when you adhere to arcane 'gentlemen's agreements'? You find yourself on the wrong side of a national embarrassment. Nothing said about Urban Meyer should shock anyone and here's the dirty little secret about us fans-we don't care at all when the 10 plus win seasons are rattled off one after the other.
And while I'm at it, if Michigan fans find themselves under neath Meyer's heel for the next several seasons, they'll channel their inner Penn State fan and say something foolish like "I'd rather lose with dignity than win like Meyer"....I for one would not. I care about the football team's successes and failures and assuming they are within the bounds of the NCAA rules on recruiting-its all fair game. Urban would rather win than lose. Period.
Its a fools errand to discuss football with your team's biggest rival, then get upset when they try to diminish any future Ohio State success by attacking Meyer's recruiting tactics. I'll give a nod to Brady Hoke-dude took OSU's troubles and used them. Directly or not, I'm sure the fact that Ohio State was facing some tough times came up in the conversation with kids and good for him.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
Damn straight. We'll focus on winning and they can focus on whining.
And besides, who in the NFL is going to want Brady Hoke anyway? And would Hoke even want to go to the NFL? Where were all of these rumors after the season when so many NFL coaches got fired? Probably still in the ass of the guy who started this rumor. If Meyer is going to negative recruit, he surely would come up with something more believable than that.
Class of 2010.
Well said sir
I noticed there was a whole hell of a lot less crap being flung around here today. That explains it
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
No recruit would believe that anyway. If Urban really wanted to make recruits think Hoke was going somewhere, he'd tell them Hoke was planning on opening a jelly donut stand. Far more believable. :)
All Urban has to do to negative recruit Scum is say" we actually allow you to have a cheeseburger of your own," Brady will only let you watch him eat all the cheeseburgers in AA.
