I've only been following recruiting closely since the middle of 2011, so I haven't had too much time to excperience a lot of heart break when it comes to recruiting.....especially with Urban at the helm. Actually, Urban is the real reason I became interested in recruiting to begin with. Constantly googling "Urban Meyer Ohio State" when the rumors started to really heat up, which of course would often lead me to 11 Warriors and the rest is history.
Anyways, in the short time I've followed recruiting there's always been those one or two players per class that I really wanted the Buckeyes to snatch up but for whatever reason we couldn't seal the deal. For me in 2012 the players I really wanted were Stefon Diggs and Cyrus Jones and in 2013 there was Vonn Bell and Robert Nkemdiche. Don't get me wrong, I'm really stoked about how the '12 and '13 classes have shaken out and '14 seems to be taking shape nicely to wrap up the limited scholarship run.
Now that a bow has been wrapped around the '13 class I'm finally becoming acclimated with the 2014 class and the recruits' corresponding highlight footages. I think thus far I'd have to say the '14 recruits I'm really hoping to snag would be Da'Shawn Hand, Jabril Peppers and Deshaun Watson......I think Watson is the best QB talent in this class for our offense and since we only take one QB/Class, typically, I think that makes him the one I'm pulling for the most.
How about you guys? Which recruiti are you pulling for the most in this class? Excluding the verbals we already have.

The downvotes will be strong with him. Poor troll attempt is poor.

Oh come on. Don't be such a bitter vag.
What the hell?!!
You earned those downvotes Haymaker
The original comment made me laugh. I'm not embarrassed to admit it.
I laughed as well, not at the words he choose, just how he said it. Reminded me of the taxi scene in old school.
Pay It Forward!
Enjoy your ban.

C'mon, WoodyHayesHaymaker. That is entirely uncalled for. It's time for bed.
Ok fine. Goodnight.
+1 I'm upvoting you for that.
Thanks!
I'm sorry for trying to defend him on another post now. Good riddance.

Who upvoted that. TROLLS.
Pulling for most? The Watson flip. We'll get talented DLers and a talented secondary, but Watson is an insane talent. Excellent passer with excellent athleticism.
Wodeyhayeshaymaker is a troll. Please disregard anything he says.
I didn't start out as troll, but then I got sick of the morons commenting. It makes this blog really shitty.
You know what else makes things shitty? Asshole trolls who aren't forced to read anything. If you don't like it, don't read it. It's not that difficult.
edit: Your post history indicates your troll history. I don't get why UM fans get on here and try to defend their football program. You were a troll from the start and it won't take long to hit -50. Inferiority complex I guess.
Very nice URBZRENEWAL, could not have said it better myself.
Troll is a troll. If you're an a** in life you will be an a** on the internet. Enjoy the -11(current) helmet stickers
Thank you my good man.
This is not what a "troll" says.
This is the work of an insecure and mentally deranged individual. I would not be surprised one bit if this thing is a fan of Jerry Sandusky.

Hey that's not very nice!
I want Malik Mcdowell and Harris the most, robbing the very best in Michigan in addition to getting great talent nationally would make me very happy.
we got one of mine already in trout. i like to include lattimore, booker jr, mcmillian, j. jones and barker/watson in my must gets for '14
O'Deez330

Leonard Fournette? I dont think there is any connection between him and OSU in any way.

Which is why I said it was a long shot.

You can look at it a couple different ways:
Must gets in state: Marshon Lattimore and Dante Booker
Must gets in BIG territory: Drake Harris and Clifton Garrett
Must gets in SEC territory: Raekwon McMillan, DeShaun Watson and Jalen Hurd
Must gets nationally: Jabrill Peppers and Montae Nicholson.
Most of the guys I listed we either lead for or co-lead for.
Now if I was going the two most important recruits on our board regardless of anything I'd say McMillan and Lattimore. Need to get the best player in state especially when he fits your team like a charm. And McMillan is the best LB in the class IMO and we lead for him. Also opens up Georgia more for recruiting if we land him.
Like how you broke it down..Im a J.Jones And Rae Mc. lean as whom i want the most..my question to you is as a person who see's Lattimore(juice) everyday do you project him as a better WRorCB? I like him as a WR rite now jmo...
I think your list is great, but would add Jamarco Jones to the B1G territory.
Love how you broke it down. +1 for you
Must Gets In State: Lattimore and Booker Jr. - obvious picks
Under the Rader In State: Nick Richardson & Dareian Watkins - sleeper picks to be in this class
Must Gets In BIG Territory: Jamarco Jones, Drake Harris, Clifton Garrett, Montae Nicholson
Must Gets In SEC Territory: Raekwon McMillan, DeShaun Watson, Lorenzo Carter, Laurence Jones
Must Gets Nationally: Jabrill Peppers, Roderick Johnson
The instate picks are obvious. I like my sleeper picks from instate in Nick Richardson and Dareian Watkins. I like both prospects very much and wish there was room for them to be Buckeyes.
Getting an elite tackle in Jones would be extremely nice, getting a lanky WR like Harris is something we have been lacking for several years. Garrett would only be another nasty LB to our corps and he grew up a Buckeye fan, and Montae Nicholson is an elite safety that also grew up a Buckeye fan. With the SEC territory picks, I dont even have to say anything about McMillan, but Watson is the top QB in the country as far as im concerned that fits our offense. Carter would be one hell of a pickup from Georgia to go along with all the other Georgia boys looking at us. He goes to the same HS as Myles Autry who is almost locked in as a Buckeye, so we may have a realistic advantage. Jones grew up a Buckeye fan and is an elite safety from LA, getting him out of SEC country would be a HUGE get. When recruiting Nationally, Jabrill Peppers is the first that comes to mind. He has OSU in his top 2 and seems to really like tOSU. Getting the top DB in the country would be something great that we havnt did in a long time as well. Getting Rod Johnson from MO to fill our tackle spot in the class, would also be a huge get. He is also good friends with Eze (2013 commit), so its not out of the question as I believe we are towards the top for him.
#Buckeyes
I would really like to flip deshaun Watson. But other three I really want are marshon lattimore Raekwon mcmillan and jabrill peppers
After looking at the great analysis here:
http://www.elevenwarriors.com/blogs/themostbrian/2013-osu-positional-tal...
I think multiple highly rated OL prospects are the absolute top priority. We're staring at a serious problem in 2014 and we'll quite possibly need contributions from freshmen. 5* are more likely to be able to contribute than 4*. Sadly, there aren't many 5* OL in this class.
i still think the 14 class of olinemen is better than the 13 class.... i really want orlando brown jr
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
I am convinced one of the reasons we went after Campbell was to lure Booker. I think Garrett wants to be a Buckeye badly and I think if we landed any combination of McMillan, Hand, Lattimore, Peppers or Hurd that next year's NSD will actually be bigger than this year's and I have never seen an OSU NSD quite like the one that just happened.
"Sherman ran an option play right through the south" - Greatest.Civil.War.Analogy.Ever
I disagree. Campbell is good enough to be offered without trying to lure another player. He has special speed.
Also, Booker has said multiple times that OSU leads and it's not even close. Anybody we offer/take is because they are worth the spot on their own.
I agree. Ohio State isn't really an instate school that needs to offer these kids' friends in order to lure them to the school especially with reduced schollies. I think in the next 3-6 he will start blowing up. He will be like EZE in a recruit that people aren't high on until they actually see him compete.
Top (2) in state guys are critical, on precedent alone - Lattimore and Booker. Then (1) of Jamarco Jones or Braden Smith. Then (2) of (3) of McMillan, Berger, and Garrett. Then (1) stud RB - Hurd or Haden.
I like Watson Peppers and Hurd. I think Hurd is going to be bad ass.
My list:
This list puts us at 21 with the current commits which with attrition I think is very possible.
Edit- It keeps messing my bullet point #'s up
Lattimore and McMillan. The first for versatility and keeping pipeline open, the latter for new pipeline and plain nastiness. I think the most interesting story, though, will be recruitment of Watson as it is clearly a top priority and it greatly affects Barker recruitment.
^ This. I think Kwon will be a huge recruiter for this class when he committs. IMO, he's key to getting Watson.
Only real MUST gets are Lattimore and Booker since they are considered the two best prospects in Ohio.
How many spots are you guys expecting for the 2014 class? I know Michigan is expecting around 16-18.
Not here to troll...Go Blue
18-22 it seems right now.
Must GET Offense:
1. Drake Harris (we really need a long WR)
2. DeShaun Watson (Best QB out there, would kill it in our system)
3. Mason Cole (need a world beater on the inside)
4. Jalen Hurd (he would be sick in our offense)
Must GET Defense:
1. Raekwon McMillan (stud LB)
2. Jabrill Peppers (might be best DB in the country)
The 2012 National Champions.
In the sense that not signing a particular player would negatively affect the play on the field, I don't regard anyone as a must get. There are always Plan A and Plan B guys . As long as you have a good mix of those and good coaching the team will perform at a high level. In a psychological sense, I'd consider Lattimore and Booker pretty close to must gets. They are the top two guys in Ohio and both have early offers. Losing either to a school like Michigan or ND or SEC land would definitely sting. Finally, for the list makers, Quinn Blanding just said that he's only certain of one visit he wants to make, and that is to Ohio State.
Yah when I saw that about Blanding I got really excited. We are on the right track with a lot of the top guys on our board it seems.
Lendak.
For some reason the 31 recovered fumbles made me lol
I'm not going to list a ton of guys... I think McMillan, Harris, Hand, Peppers, and either Watson or Barker are must get guys. This will be Urban's best class by far. He has now had 2 years to develop relationships with these kids. Should be an interesting NSD 2014 for The Ohio State University!
I personallly think booker and lattimore are must gets, and I think we will have both when all is said and done. Outside of ohio, I would really like Jamarco Jones, and one of the other elite lineman. Lastly, I really want peppers and mcmillan. I think both can be game changers for us, and it seems urban is making a very good impression on both. If we could get both, i think they could sway some more elite recruits as well.
It goes with out saying that we need O-line depth bad, so the easy answer is Braden Smith or Jamarco Jones but I'm going with Jabrill Peppers, that guy is beast!!
I agree with many others that there aren't necessarily any must gets for the class. There are a lot of talented players in this class, and many who are interested in Ohio State.
When there is talk of must gets for this class, I go more toward the position/type of player that is needed the most. That being: a few more high-level O-linemen who have the ability and wherewithall to play right away. Another safety is necessary with Barnett/Bryant/Brown all nearing the end of their careers. Also, you always need a QB, as it is probably best to try and get one per class. The guy who fits the bill the best this year is Watson, though a "leader" type like Barker would be great as well.
The other is always the top in-state recruits (as long as there is mutual interest and/or they fit in to the scheme). That means Lattimore and Booker. You can't lose out on top in-state players that you want and that are interested in you. Ferns did not have interest in OSU, so that isn't as much of a loss, IMO.
So to review:
"What we do in life echoes in eternity"
Marshon Lattimore. Need to keep top in state guys.
Drake Harris, Marshon Lattimore, Dante Booker.

I get the feeling Snodgrass isn't a priority at all. Did he do something to rub the staff the wrong way?
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
MIXON, HURD, WATSON, AND THE GEORGIA FELLAS
In-state: Lattimore and Booker
LB: McMillan and Garrett
DB: Peppers and Nicholson
WR: Kitt Harris and Thompson
ATH: Autry
RB: Hurd
DL: Street Hand and Sawyer
All wishful thinking, but good standing with all these guys. Could see us getting a majority of these prospects if things continually smoothly for the next 6 months.
OL is most important position in class...
Going with Mustipher Brown Jr and J. Jones
