Luke Vadas, Ht: 6'2" | WtL 185 | 40: 4.46, committed to Penn State yesterday (2/26/2013) as a "run-on", which is similar to the preferred walk-on spot that Ohio State had offered him. Mike Vrabel visited Vadas's school on 2/1/2013 and Vadas was supposed to visit Ohio State shortly after. Vadas had a scholarship offer from Marshall. Vadas was named first team News-Herald and third team Division III All-Ohio. Vadas will play in the Ohio North-South all-star game on April 27th at Welcome Stadium in Dayton. Vadas is currently a senior at University School (Boys K-12) in Chagrin Falls, OH and will be at PSU for summer classes on June 23rd.

Confusing to me...
Not sure why it's confusing, he has an infinitely better chance of seeing the field at PSU than he does at tOSU and they are a pass first offense.
Well.......bye
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
Good deal for him, has a better chance to start at Penn State with their sanctions. I don't understand though why not take a Marshall full ride offer though, makes no sense.
While I agree to an extent, I also spent a good deal of time in Huntington WV & this was not a bad move IMO...

May have just had a small heart attack in my eyes...

A bit confusing, but the kid has to do what is best for him. I believe he saw he would be buried on the depth chart at OSU. He will eventually be a scholarship player at PSU. He just won't have a chance to win national titles.
Technically that is false, but if you want to talk about will not have enough talent around him to have a shot once the sanctions are done, sure.
What is false about it? I'm a little confused. That's a perfectly valid and accurate guess.
He's saying its false because by Luke's senior year TECHNICALLY there is a chance he could play for a national title (first year out of bowl ban). But the odds are about as high as me winning the lottery
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
perhaps the family has the means to afford his education while letting the kid live out his dreams of playing big time D1 football. good luck to him.
Good for Luke. He weighed his options and took the opportunity that he felt best fit his needs/wants/desires. OSU may have been his first choice, but with the amount of WR's coming in, it was not a good fit for him. If his family can afford the financial burden of PSU, Luke can chase the dream of playing in the B1G. Who knows, down the line he may be able to earn a schollie from PSU (even with the reduced schollie sanctions).
I applaud the young man for pursuing a higher level of competition instead of settling for Marshall. We should all be so lucky to have the ability to chase our dreams.
The kid went to University, which is about as expensive if not moreso than a state school, even paying OOS tuition. I think he'll be okay
Enjoy the bowl games! Oh...
Eh, I've haven't heard of the kid yet. Good luck to him. I wouldn't choose PSU if I was a current recruit and my life depended on it, but it's not my decision. But seriously, good luck to him.
Sorry...I really hate PSU. I've actually taken actions to ensure my hate for scUM remained higher than my hate for PSU.
