Michael Chung tweeted the following tonight: "Sounds like Indiana WR/DB prospect Lonnie Johnson is not on campus yet for his scheduled visit but may or may not be there on Sunday."
Quite vague, Chung...quite vague
It was kind of a tentative visit so he may get up today after the Core6 showcase in Cincy being that they're off school tomorrow.
I hope the kid gets to campus. He has a lot of wiggle for a taller guy, and an interesting skill set.
Did anyone hear anything about Johnson this weekend?
Lonnie Johnson is getting great reviews by recruiting analysts. I can't see any reason he doesn't have a commitable offer and I'm sure he will be a Buckeye.
To me it's all about timing. Unlike timmons, he HAS an offer, but since we are in on so many there's a definite pecking order. I'm hopeful he comes in and wins an offer, ala tyquan lewis. I think the kid is talented but I'd rate him below Harris, Kitt and Kief and they all appear to be real possibilities.

Looks like 247 has him as a 3 star but (according to 247) has 13 receiving TDs last year - out of 33 total receptions - 42% of the tme he caught the ball he scored. WOW!
That is a pretty impressive stat. WOW is right.

Buddy Ryan was in my all time bottom 10 even before he uttered that stupidity.
Starting to think the staff wants to take their time with WR, certainly some offers are commitable but I think a lot of WR will need to come to camps and perform well to be given the green light. I think Johnson is a part of that group.
That stat is pretty impressive but currently i like a few guys ahead of johnson guys like Todd,Thompson,Harris,Scott,Blacknall,Kitt, and Lattimore assuming he plays offense. Im not sure where he is on the coaches board but im guessing 4 of those guys are higher than Johnson I do like his film but he may just get slow played.

If we got Lattimore (as an athlete), Harris, Kitt, Kief, and Johnson. I think IMO that we have enough schollies to take those 4. Lattimore might not even play offense, he could very likely be headed to Coach Withers IMHO.
I would have to say I agree I posted that before the combine I was going off of some highlights I watched but with being the best db in the camp has changed my opinion.

Does any staff have any insight into how the coaches deal with 'non commitable' offers as regards other kids in the fold? Seems like Marcelys Jones is really working to get Lonnie Johnson aboard, but, I don't think it's his choice right now. Makes for weirdness dontcha think?
