Which commit do you feel will make the most impact as a freshman? One for defense and offense.
For me it's Joey Bosa and Dontre Wilson. I see Bosa getting regular rotation on the D-Line and Wilson making an impact with his speed in the return game.

Jalin Marshall. He showed he was for real in the Under Armour game and that was his first game at WR after playing QB for 4 years. I think he's a special player who will do special things under Urban.
So pumped to see Wilson in the return game. Haven't had a gamebreaker like him since Ginn.
Trey Johnson and Jalin Marshall, IMO. Johnson may be the best defensive player in the class, and Marshall has been committed for awhile, so he knows what to expect and his athleticism is elite.
Zeke and Dontre in the return game. Bosa in the rotation. Corey Smith starting opposite Devin on the outside. Bell/Burrows as the starting Star.
I know I keep beating the drum on this one but I really think Baugh is going to have instant impact. Having a tight end with his skill set is rare. Not to mention at 6'5" he brings size and speed that we simply haven't had at OSU. He is a mismatch waiting to happen.
I doubt Baugh will play much his first year minus special teams or during blowouts. I see him as the #3 TE, he could get in the rotation but Heurman and Vannett are a lot better than you think
I think Eli Apple will make an impact in both special teams and in the two-deep at CB.
Honestly can see Vonn Bell compete for playing time. Both Barnett and Bryant have had some injury issues, and there isn't much depth behind them. Could see some major playing time quickly.
O - Marshall
D - Price ( Urban said today he is physically ready )
On defense I think it's Von Bell. I feel like he'll beat out Barnett, or Bryant for a starting spot and provide a hard hitting back end on our defense. On offense, I've seen him play, I know his brother in-law, and have had a million conversations about him, it's Jalin Marshall. This kid is coming in and will be on a whole different level than we are used to seeing out of a freshman.
Just a life long Buckeye fan wanting to talk to other lifelong Buckeye fans. Our honor defend, we will fight to the end for OOO HIIII OOOOOO!
I feel like Jalin has been overlooked in the last few weeks.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Jalin on O and Trey On D man this is one bad ass class I'm so pumped for the season to start. Now start getting those 2014 guys committed.
I feel like either Munger or Price (or both) will move to offensive line.
We definitely got some silver bullets today on defense. With needing to replace the entire d-line, I see Spence, Washington, Bosa, Schutt, Sprinkle, and Pittman playing big roles.
Mike Mitchell.
A lot of new big time Piranhas!!
Tough decision.. Can't single anyone out, I can't wait to see them all play though..
Competition competition competition... I wish the espn hard knocks was this year. I have felling a lot of players will be on notice. Work hard or get passed by a freshman!

I'm not trying to be a jokester...I really don't know. There's so much talent in this class...it's truly difficult to determine who will make an impact right away. Tons of need at LB....some at WR and some at the "Percy Harvin" even though I personally hate that term for the slot/H back in Urban's offense. It's really a toss up but Mike M or Trey J should be the ones IMO that make the most impact on Special Teams early and then in a possible second string/rotation situations as the year progresses. I'm telling you though...J. Marshall, EzE and Dtre W could all see time as well (not to mention all the DB talent;-). Man it's a great time to be a Buckeye ladies and gents....boy is it ever.

Its way too hard for me to pick. There are positions that the learning curve is much higher regardless of physical talent. Normally I wouldnt bet on a freshman seeing the field early because of learning the system and 1 to 2 years of college strength and conditioning. However, with the early enrollees and the sheer talent level of the offensive play makers and defensive backs I dont know how you can keep them off of the field. I will be very surprised if over half of these guys dont see the field even if its special teams. I think there are going to be some upperclassmen upset around game 4 or 5 when they start to share time with a few of these guys. OH, the competition is coming.
I feel like the only guys with a legit chance of starting their first year are Corey Smith at WR and Mitchell or Johnson at 1 of the LB positions. I see most of the contributions of this class in special teams initially and battling into the 2 deep. Not saying a lot of these guys won't get PT cuz I see guys like Bosa in on the DL rotation and Apple, Burrows, and Bell pushing into a nickel or dime package. Wilson and Marshall getting some touches in the Percy Harvin role behind Corey Brown. Give this class 2-3 years to develop since realistically it takes time to adjust to the big time college level they are going to be very special.
O: Marshall, Houston, C. Smith
D: Mike Mitchell, Joey Bosa will get some reps
ST: Townsend (should he sign), Wilson (return), Conley (gunner)
Mitchell and Johnson
Mike Mitchell on D. First because of team need and second his awesome skill.
Ezek on O as 3rd down specialist.
More opportunities on D than O. I can see 2 frosh breaking into the D starting lineup by the 4th game and a total of about 5 frosh getting serious playing time on D.
Its good to be the king
I'm not sure Zeke would beat out Jordan Hall as the third down specialist, as special as he is.
i have never seen a class, where until you get these guys on the practice field together in the early days of summer practices,to even place them on whatever side O-D. falling into this catagory Price/Munger on the line and Conley/Lee atDB or WR.
and don't be surprised to see Price getting groomed as a power fullback for goal line situations and short yardage-think this kid has huge up-side.

Having been to nearly every game of Darron Lee's career, I can tell you one thing: he won't ever play WR at a D1 level. I would bet that he would have a better chance at playing QB, and that won't happen. He isn't naturally skilled/gifted at WR, where he got some playing time in the playoffs his junior year. He will almost certainly play STAR or LB, and be terrific. His defensive instincts and closing speed will be a force to be reckoned with.
I got to watch the New Albany vs Westerville Central game. Despite the close loss, Lee was very good at Safety and not so good on offense (but not horrible either). The closing speed and natural ability was something I noticed at that game. I was really happy he got that offer and it wasn't surprising he committed not too long after.
