I know he is ranked high but how is he not ranked higher. I just love that highlight video. He reads the plays so well and creates so much burst so fast.

I'm unsure how Bosa was your "must-get" he was mostly off the OSU fan radar (for the most part, as far as us having) when he came up for the visit, and quickly committed.
He was my favorite too. As soon as I saw his highlight tape I wanted him.
That's not true. With the offer list info 247, he was listed as "warm" to the Buckeyes for some time, paired with some bucknuts articles about his OSU ties.

If there weren't that many tOSU fans interested in him before, there were certainly some of us that were on/after December 16, 2011 when tOSU offered, especially going to St. Thomas Aquinas High School where Cris Carter is a coach. He first visited tOSU on April 12, 2012 and then again for the Spring Game on April 21, 2012 and reported that he had committed on April 23, 2012.

2 Things:
1. I believe one of those men is his uncle and former Buckeye and NFL selection Eric Kumerow.
2. Neither Bosa nor Kumerow did much at all in the NFL, so to call Bosa an "NFL Star" is a bit of a stretch. That said, the kid has some impressive lineage.
1. I believe you are correct I think that is his uncle Eric Kumerow.
2. I will admit that as labeling John Bosa as an NFL star was a bit much, however he was the 16th overall pick in the 1st round of the '87 NFL Draft by the Dolphins. So I think maybe expected NFL star would be excepted? Eric Kumerow, his brother, was also picked as the 16th overall pick in the '88 Draft and also by the Dolphins.
So can we say he is pictured with one NFL great and two NFL 1st round picks?
They were definitely both great college players, but based on their high draft statuses, the two are widely considered a few of the larger busts in franchise history.
I was trying to avoid the "Bust Brothers" label, that's why I went with the 1st round seats pick label.

Love how he attacks. Plays downhill and with a lot of aggression and controlled violence. Love that in a linebacker, he looks like a real natural at the position. Nearly every play he is going through whoever he is taclking, not just bringing them down. Definitely want this guy in the class.
Not many videos you'll find of LB's where every hit the kid being tackled goes backward. This means this kids vision and angles are advanced for his age.
+1 Great points Spooner and he's been doing it since he's at least a sophmore! His highlights for that year are some of the more impressive I've seen for a sophmore recruit.
Agreed like I said hes squared up on almost every hit and I dont think he really even knows what hes fully doing yet which is scary. Between him and Kwon physicality (something our current LB corp needs more of sans Shazier) will not be a problem. Speaking of which I find it beyond comical that rivals dropped Kwon's 5th star because in their words hes not physical enough are you kidding me?! Garrett and Kwons tapes are 2 of the best LB vids ive watched in the last 5 years hands down!

I agree on the Garrett being a leader & he could do wonders recruiting. One thing I wanted to mention & I'm very glad of it - Damon Webb seems to very much be a leader for the 2014 class. I'm psyched on that guy! You can't have enough leaders in a recruiting class...

I completely agree on your Webb statements. I believe he has become our Burrows of last years class. I think he has taken the sting out of Marcelys's tweets about offers and visits. I understand that UFM needs lineman in this class, but having Marcelys as the first is still a little puzzling to me. Again, maybe he will embrace being a leader, but for now it appears he enjoys the recruiting process a little too much.
Kids who commit early & show leadership don't get nearly the credit they deserve...I have tremendous respect for the kids who commit, don't waiver, and try to recruit other kids. Come signing day, they sign. Guys who commit & then waiver around NSD get lots of media attention, but the solid kids deserve so much more credit. You'd like your first commit to be solid & I think Marcelys ends up a Buckeye - but as of this time, I keep hearing he's not too committed..? His tweets are private & I don't actually follow anyone so I don't even know what he said. Either way Webb is a great player & rock-solid as are Trout & Campbell. Garrett would be a welcome addition for sure.

When I said tweets, I believe he announces every new offer and has mentioned having good times on other college visits. I myself, do not have a twitter account and get most of my information from recruiting sites (mostly 11 Warriors). Not a huge social media fan.

Great kid! I am very impressed with his play but his maturity is off the charts. Looks like a future leader. I hope he commits to the good guys. He has a great personality and he would be a great recruiter and asset for tOSU.
I just watched my first interview of Garrett, and like everyone else I came away impressed. Really seems to have his head on straight and be a great quality kid. Hoping he joins the scarlet and gray soon!
When i first saw the pic of him and i have to admit, i wasn't expecting him to be as down to earth and mature for his physical appearance but it does seem like he has a great head on his shoulders and is a future leader.

I get worried when players tweet out the names of prospects. I feel like Scum got in trouble in the past few years for this, and we don't need any more bad publicity if that's the case.
I believe it is a secondary violation if the players didn't have a previous relationship. At this point since everyone has so much contact with everyone through twitter and facebook it is likely that everyone has a previous relationship. Regardless saying he is going to commit or be the next big OSU player seems a bit too much too.

Sometimes people close to the recruit, but not always really close like a teammate or friend of a sibling, will find out and leak the info early. I was hoping this was the case, but figured it wasn't. Garrett himself said he didn't commit this weekend too.
