According to today'$ Boarding House via Bucknuts, Jalen Hurd is a near-lock to be a Buckeye. If this is true, this is HUGE. Hurd is my favorite RB in the country and besides DeShaun Watson, I believe he is the most dynamic offensive prospect. Just think: Hurd out of the backfield, with Parris Campbell playing the Pivot position. Dynamite!

Damn thats great if true!
Anyone know when he might be announcing, and if he's enrolling early?
Frickin awesome!!!
You have to hate losing more than you love winning! GO BUCKS!!
I don't want to get my hopes up....but holy crap, that sounds fantastic!
Said he's going to visit in June during the Nike camp. He wants to talk with the coaching staff and have them watch him in action
Don't forget Dontre Wilson, EzE, Jalin Marshall, etc. The biggest problem we might have is getting everyone on the field.
How so? You can pretty much line Jalin up anywhere and he'll fit in.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Yep, Jalin at Tackle would work out just fine. JK, LOL.
DO IT!!!
I know everyone loves Bell, but i've always felt that getting Jalin was Ohio State's biggest get for 2013. He was recruiting Bell, and Johnson hard at the AA game.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
I agree, I think Jalin will end up being the best player in the class. One day we'll be saying we're looking for a guy to fil the Jalin Marshall role, and we can stop all this Percy Harvin nonsense lol.
Sounds like a good Forum topic there... 11W members' opinions on who will have the biggest impact from this class. Just throwing it out there, but I'm far too lazy to actually act upon that with only about 10 minutes left at my desk.
I had stopped replying to people about Jalin because I thought I would get annoying, but everytime someone goes on about EZE or Wilson filling the need from last year, I just can't help but think they're caught up in the drama of the late recruitment. Don't get me wrong, those guys are awesome and I can't wait to get them on the field, but Jalin is a flat out baller.

Yes BT - The 'Percy Harvin' role...perhaps the most completely over-used phrase in Buckeyeology. Here's to hoping that wonderful term dies...soon please.

In 4 years it will be known as the Jalin Marshall role
I'm a friend of thunder is it any wonder lightning strikes me
With injuries, guys not panning out, and moving guys around, I'm sure there will be plenty of room to get people on the field. We need to stockpile that kind of talent though. Look what Bama just did. They have an incredible RB returning and just brought in the top 3 RB's in America. Urban used to land that kind of talent at Florida though.
I think Marshon Lattimore is right there with him.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Totally agree. I've been reading a lot lately of Lattimore playing at DB...hope that's not true though.
The 2012 National Champions.
Many fans want Lattimore on offense, many analysts predict him to DB because of his prototypical frame and obscene burst for a DB. He's also said he prefers defense in an interview a few weeks ago.
Someone let him know a guy by the name of Ted Ginn came out as a db and turned into a monster on the offensive side of the ball.
When someone shows you who they are believe them! In other words piss a good friend off and see what they really think about you.
And Bradley Roby came in as a WR committed to Vandy and became a monster on the defensive side. He could play both well, but as far as pro-potential, he's projected as a DB.
True Roby did come out as a WR but I thought he was just ok as a WR Lattimore on the other is too explosive not to play offense in my opinion.

Even if Lattimore gets moved to DB, he could still be used in the special teams game where TGJ truly made his mark and became a game-changer. A kid like that, or Teddy for that matter, will certainly have an impact no matter where he ends up though.
Wasn't Marqise Lee projected as a CB as well?
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Yep. He played as a DB at the Army All-American game.
The 2012 National Champions.
Many still think Ginn would be a much better pro player as a DB...not the best route runner.

I just want Lattimore on the field, I don't care where. He is the kind of athlete who can shine on O, D, or ST.

Yea, having a two-headed monster ala Oregon or Bama with Hurd and EzE will be nasty, both have size & homerun speed.
Lattimore would line up with Dontre & Jalin, in the slot WR or as the slot back.
I think Clark will line up outside with Harris/Kitt (insert big WR there).
As guys graduate/transfer, there will definitely be enough PT to go around for these guys.
"Leave...Your...Mark..."
Very good news if true. If we can get Hurd I would be ecstatic we need about three more offensive line men to go with two we have along with all of the weapons that'll be on the team.

Kid looks like Trey Burton.....Think Meyer can do a little bit of everything with him
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
I'd love it if Urban came down here to TN and stole some kids from SEC country. Urban is in on a kid at MBA in Nashville too.
Just be sure to stay away from Knoxville if you're wearing S&G. Losing Bell and Hurd will send them over the deep end.

+1 I'd like to add UT Legacy Todd Kelly Jr. too!
yes ^^^^

Hurd is BY FAR my favorite offensive recruit for the 2014 class. It would be unbelievably HUGE if OSU landed his commitment.
Meant to upvote Scarlet. My bad
I got you covered
Because I couldn't go for three. -Woody-
As a guy who has seen him play live, I am very high on Hurd, but I worry about OSU landing him. I'm not saying it can't or won't happen, but the SEC is all over him from Bama to Georgia to Florida and LSU. He grew up a Tennessee fan, so they will be in play in some capacity. I believe he's visiting there this weekend for their Junior Day. UT has made him a huge priority for their 2014 class.
He does though really like both Urban Meyer and his offense, so those are two pluses for OSU.
This is more for Buckeye in SEC and you TENNBUCK....I also live in Nashville, and this morning on the radio the Vols "Insider" and I use that Insider term loosely because up til signing day he had Vonn Bell down to UT and Bama with no reference of OSU...but today they were talking about Hurd and again no mention of OSU at all, which of course means little to me, but just sheds some light as to why UT fans are so blindsided when homegrown talent gets away...if the guy writing for UT insider doesn't know then Vols fans wont know....blind leading the blind
Anyways, I coach summer baseball and two of my players go to Beech HS, and they have said Urbz and Co. have been down quite often....Hope we get this kid!
UFM is definitely planting his flag all over the country but he is paying extra attention to GA and TN it seems.
That's because Tennessee fans, like everyone else in the SEC, have completely bought into the SEC dominance that ESPN and others have been selling. Nevermind that only 4 of 14 SEC teams have won a title during this run (no matter that 3 of those titles were won by Bama alone, or that 2 of the other 4 were won by our own coach), or that there were only some 5 or 6 times between 1980-2000 when an SEC team was even in contention for a title -- SEC fans can't imagine a world in which a player would opt out of playing in the SEC. They can't imagine a world in which a B1G team would be more appealing to a recruit than even a mid-range SEC team like Tennessee.
They've got a sobering fate on the horizon lol. OSU was great before SEC dominance, and OSU will be great after SEC dominance.
It will be tOSU that ends this over hyped SEC run! I was there in Glendale (and the following year in NOLA) for the start of this and it is only fitting that tOSU lead by UFM put an end to this crap!
Honestly looking at this kids video and what we have been pulling in I am kind of just kind of in a small (less than 1%) way starting to feel sorry for the rest of the country with of course the exceptions of Bama, LSU, FL & scUM! This isn't going to be fair what UFM & Co are going to be doing to the rest of the country!
Get set Buckeye Nation we are about to see the most dominant run in the history of The Ohio State University Buckeye Football Program! Woody will always rule but this is going to be sick! I can't wait to talk SH*T to these friggin SEC fans. I live in SEC country and it is going to be sweet!
Because they wouldn't let me go for 3!
Woody Hayes 1913-1987
my mouth is watering just thinking of that back field. WOW!!!
If we win a NC game this year, it should put us over the top with Hurd and quell any uprisings the Volunteers may have.
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
If Hurd is enrolling early like speculated he will already be on campus when the NC is being played
I'm hoping Hurd commits sometime over the summer and recruits some big time OL to block for him.
Hurd is one of my favorite offensive recruits, my only concern is how often he touches the ball. It seems like he's carrying the ball 35-40 times per game in HS. Now I'm not sure how many hits he takes, but it seems like 35+ carries is a lot for a 17 year old body to take. Just hope he doesn't get worn out before finishing his college career, wherever that may be
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
He may carry 35 times, but I gaurentee that 95% o the times he gets tackled he's giving the hit, not taking it.
He would give the spread offense the same element that Hyde brings.. I love hearing this news and almost spitaked the computer when I read about the clueless Tenn insider.. They must have shat themselves over Bell's anouncement. It would be fun to do it again..
He's like a Hyde-plus RB. Not quite the bowling ball that Hyde is, but he's also got an edge on Hyde in the speed category (note that my personal opinion is that Hyde is not the 4.4 that some say he is), as well as being more elusive. I love this kid's tape, and can't wait to see him at the college level.
What exactly did Hurd say? Did Bnuts talk to him directly?
"There is a force that makes us all brothers, no one goes his way alone, all that we send into the life of others comes back into our own." -WWH
They did not, these are rumors from multiple "trusted" sources
This news wasn't directly from him.
However he has stated in the past that OSU was his favortie so we knew we had a lead, just not sure how big of one.
Apparently its a sizable amount!
could be a relative of former NIU & Cowobys receiver, turned baddy Sam Hurd ?
Did I miss when u vowed to make a relation comment about every recruit? Not a criticism, I applaud your dilligence but im wondering what the endgame is? Are you trying to get familytree.com to pop up on all the board ads? Congratulations on your second straigt swimsuit cover btw, once again though they chose to highlight your big sisters. Marcia Marcia Marcia!
Hopefully it works out and he becomes a Buckeye, he's like the next coming of Eddie George. Having him along with EzE (and Brax) in our power running spread attack with all that speed in the slot and on the wings should be unstopable!
Alot of delusional posts.
