I don't know a lot about Erick Smith. Anyone have some insight?

Nah, that was my bad. I fat fingered on my phone. No worries though, I went out and upvoted a few other posts of yours to offset. :) Apologies my man.
haha no problem I was just wondering how anyone could hate Borat

Too bad he's been banned. ;_;

Not sure if the "too bad" was sarcastic, but I feel like all Kate did was try to make humorous posts. That being said, I am not the most insightful person on here, but I try* to add to the discussions.

Nah. I actually liked KULB. He was random, but I thought he was hilarious.

Whoa when did this happen and what thread had the massive downvoting?
Not sure. I just know his profile doesn't exist anymore.

Pam and GB got banned too. I didn't expect that.
That's why I avoided that thread.

You were smart. I got caught up for a short while, but I did not know about Pam and GB. It is crazy.
It looks to have been a bloodbath
My hope is that those are temporary bans. It would suck to lose all 3.

Urbs should make a road trip down to Alabama!! Jesus, that would be a train wreck. All the bama bloggers would blow up!!lol
SCOTTC.
It tells you something when Saban comes lurking around Ohio. IF its a fight he's after we'll give it to him. On the other hand, Urban does'nt even feel a need to mess around in the SEC West, we get everybody we need from Ohio, the Midwest, Texas, Florida, Georgia, East Coast, etc.
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
I posted this in the SI: Cornerbacks thread already, but Lattimore tweeted this just 45 minutes ago:
Lattimore has since confirmed that his Alabama offer is indeed committable.
haha well seems like Saban's upset over Bell

Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.

Meyer should fire back by offering Bo Scarbrough, and Marlon Humphrey.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
This has nothing to do with how talented these kids are. This is Little Nicky trying to 1-up Meyer, hence why Lattimore said what he said. Even he thinks it's just smoke.
"Sherman ran an option play right through the south" - Greatest.Civil.War.Analogy.Ever
Im sure Lattimore's offer is legit, every school should offer him to be honest, the kid has tons of talent..Now would he rather go to Bama then OSU? doubtful but who knows.. I expect Jones to be vocal about it and live it up (he's earned the right), he will probably even visit and say that Bama is something to think about. A lot of these boys love to create drama among fan bases and get the writers talking..Hopefully we land all 3, and we probably do...but one never knows..
Most of the Glenville guys usually are pretty vocal about big offers, and as you pointed out deservedly so. Ginn Sr. is also the master of leveraging his high profile player's recruitments into aiding his other players also getting checked out recruited, which I think is great. He also does a great job building the Glenville brand, although they haven't as much on field success in the state when compared to St. Ignatius, Ed's, and the Cinci powerhouses. I now live in SEC country and even friends I have down here have heard about Glenville, where as they havent heard as much if anything about some of the other powerhouse high schools in Ohio.
They've heard of Glenville because of this:

That punt return gif makes my mouth water. I long for the day we get a player with that kind of speed again Glenville or not.
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
James Clark?
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
James Clark? I'll beleive it when I see it. Remember Ray Small was supposed to be the 'next' Ginn with blazing speed. Diddn't turn out too well.
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
Nope. I didn't follow recruiting back then. I think Small getting blasted changed whatever he was going to be.

I remember watching that game thinking he was going to be out for the year.
As far as Clark goes:

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
he has my favorite highlight tape, dont really know why, but it is. You know your fast when you have FORTY NINE catches for 1112 yards, over 22 ypc
... and most of them are on WR screens!
Yeah, I remember watching Small get trucked by Illinois, that was NASTY! It would be nice to see Clark replicate Ginn but if not we know Urban is pulling in so much talent every year it really won't matter.
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
On a side note to the thread, I was at that game and it happened right in front of me. It was one of those deals where you could see everything lining up perfectly to lead to that hit but there was nothing you could do about it. It was bad.
I agree small didn't pan out. But two reasons being the character issues and the offense i believe if small played in this offense he probaly would've been more successful.
When someone shows you who they are believe them! In other words piss a good friend off and see what they really think about you.
I agree (BuckeyeVs). James Clark looks super fast on film...anyone know the quality of competition his high school team plays?
I'll assume it was pretty solid, Florida HS football tends to be pretty good.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
No disaster here. In the long-term, losing a Glenville kid to 'Bama will not hurt us. Wait until the kid is buried on the depth chart. Trey Depriest hurt badly (especially given the current LB chaos), but even Depriest, who is maybe the best kid out of Ohio in 5 years, is being slow-played by Saban and is not an every down player anymore.
It's because Ohio has that SEC speed...
No its Ohio Speed
You tell the SEC when they can learn to read and write, then they can figure out what we're doing. - Gordon Gee
Looks like Saban is doing what he can to be seen by Urban. Trying to be a pain as much as possible. Still think the punter offer was part of the same mindset.
Urban Meyer has all but declared full scale war on Bama and Saban. Did you think he wasn't going to do something to return fire?
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
Lmao nicky satan trying to ruffle feathers but what he needs to do is figure out how he's going to get down to 85 sclorships.

Yea 95 is a bit ridiculous ten guys gets told they can't play for the team any longer Saban is a harsh jackass!
When someone shows you who they are believe them! In other words piss a good friend off and see what they really think about you.
They will continue to extend offers to keep a presence in each other's territory, but will not expend great resources.
They will battle over Florida and Tennessee, but once Ohio State is talent elite (and that day is coming FAST) we will relax. Vonn Bell was a desperate get for us, but not for Saban.
We are almost at the point where we can do what Saban did in the Bell tug-of-war and it will be others that go ballistic, because neither Meyer nor Saban will be desperate, or even hungry
I take it as a compliment to the talent rich soil we have in Ohio.
Did Bama offer Jalin at all?
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
I dont think so. Prolly depends what site ur looking at lol
#Buckeyes
Didn't see one on 247, Scout, rivals, or the eSPIN.
Makes me question the offer even more.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
I don't think it's unprecedented for 'Bama to offer an Ohio kid. I'd love to have Trey DePriest.
They offered Evan Lisle and sniffed around Jalin and Cam Burrows.
Deep - Nevermind - not an Ohio kid...
The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.
From what ive read, all 3 grew up big Buckeye fans. They go to glenville. Which means they r bound for Columbus. How many glenville kids dont pick osu when have an offer? Very very few
#Buckeyes
I agree. I honestly couldn't be less worried about this.
Which Glenville kids went somewhere else?
Aundrey Walker, LaTawn Anderson (if he counts?).... Who else?
Cordale Scott is the only guy other than those two that we also wanted.
Walker, Anderson & Scott. Thats why I said very few
#Buckeyes
Aundre Walker: peace! have a nice life.
Latwann Anderson (LA) wouldn't have lasted a quarter at OSU academically (thus not shown 'much love') plus his attitude would have been a cancer in the locker room. Latwann would've been consistently benched, in the dog house (ala Small), kicked off the team, or voluntarily transferred if he ever made it to the Urban Meyer years.
Cordale Scott was a true WR that had a legit, commitable offer but for some reason chose the Illini route, being the first Glenville guy to make waves and diss the Bucks. Oh well.
All in all Ohio St. consistently gets what it wants from Glenville although it takes time to secure a verbal. I'll be ecstatic if we land Marcelys Jones and Lattimore for 2014.
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
Shane Wynn and Andre Sturdivant are two others recently. Both had offers too according to rivals.
Wynn and Sturdivant were definitely tight players but didn't quite make Tressel's cut as far as being Buckeye material. Not sure if it was grades or talent or what. Rivals may have had them listed but does'nt mean they were comittable offers. Meyer probably would have benefitted from having Wynn though in hindsight as he's super fast with wiggle and can fit that little percy Harvin role that is such desired under the current regime.
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
This is a good thing! We want Saban to offer Ohio kids and then not get them. Alabama is College Football King right now (whether anyone likes it or not, I hate it), but when other recruits see kids turning down Saban to come play for Meyer and tOSU, it continues to help recruiting nation wide.
Everytime Slick Nick offers 3 players he somehow loses a guy the next day to a medical hardship.
What a coincidence!!!
Champions Bleed Scarlet & Gray
Are you suggesting that Alabama football has become like a satanic version of the movie It's a Wonderful Life?
In the Nicky Satan version, the above line goes more like this: "Every time a five star player's cell phone rings, a demon gets its horns and a third-string linebacker gets his walking papers."
Ahh clever indeed. +1 for you.
Champions Bleed Scarlet & Gray
FUCK SABAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is all
Saban won't have the roster space.
Are you sure about that?
We e not harmed in recruiting if kids start to realize Saban sees us a legit threat.
^1 That
I think this is great because we are going to have to beat Bama on the recruiting trail before we beat them on the field. Of course we are going to lose some of these battles, but I would rather go head to head with Saban over great recruits and lose a few instead of going head to head with Michigan State over above average players and win 90% of them. Apologies for the run on sentence!
"It all goes so fast, and character makes the difference when it's close."
Jesse Owens
The coolest thing about this rivalry on the recruiting trail is that Bama is never going to go after the same QB prospects. It seems like Clemson, A&M, and wherever Chad Morris ends up are going to be our big competition stylistically for QBs
Clemson has seemed to be our biggest QB competition lately for whatever reason.
Nick Saban just wants to cause trouble because we're his biggest threat. He doesn't mind over signing & he'll take these guys & have them ride the bench just so long as they don't come to OSU. Excuse my language but the guy is an asshole to the end. We got Von Bell because Saban just wants to turn his guys into machines, but he doesn't give a shit about them. Urban cares about his players AND turns them into machines. Relationships are huge & I think we'll win that battle. Honestly, they have Amari Cooper & just got Robert Foster, they don't need Marshon. They have Landon Collins, they don't need Smith. They're most likely crazy deep on the O-line because that's what makes their whole offense successful, so Jones won't get in for awhile.
It's 5 o'clock somewhere, & Michigan still sucks
I work in a high school in central Ohio. Sadly, with Alabama's dominance over the past 4 years, I've started seeing more and more high school kids sporting Crimson Tide gear. Because of that, I'm a little more worried than some of the rest of you about this news. But I'm a worrier...
Real fans stay for Carmen.
To be honest with you, I think ND's return to prominence is a bigger threat to OSU than Bama is when it comes to recruiting Midwestern talent. They can like what Bama is doing all they want, but to actually commit to moving all the way down south away from family and friends to play for a team that is already incredibly deep is a huge commitment to make. ND is arguably just as high-profile, legitimately has the same shot to play in BCS Championship games (though not the same shot to win them), and most importantly is right in their own backyard.
That doesn't mean that Alabama won't grab a Midwestern talent here or there (Trey DePriest, Robert Foster, etc), but I don't see them regularly competing for Ohioans or Midwesterners in general when Midwestern talents have the options of OSU, ND and Michigan right in their back yard, all very legitimate title contenders. Not to mention that part of recruiting the Midwest regularly would mean that Alabama has to spend the resources to recruit an area of the country that is arguably lighter on talent than the area they already recruit (the south), which wouldn't be too feasible. They'll likely just try to continue to pluck a player here or there from the Midwest the way they have during Saban's run, rather than recruiting the Midwest consistently. ND is the real threat in my mind as we're fighting for a lot of the same Midwest talent. See: Jaylon Smith, Jimmy Byrne, Hunter Bivin, Steve Elmer, etc.
Knowing Saban, I doubt they are legit offers. I think this is purely a game. With that said; game on!
