Why are waiting so long to offer any other qbs like Kyle Allen and Drew Barker? These kids have huge intrest and have great arms and its not like they aren't able to scramble.
I know that Coach knows what he is doing but I would hate to see us lose a solid qb hoping and praying for another qb to commit.

Coaches are all in on Clemson commit Watson.
Well said my Buckeye Warrior.
Because Watson is hardly just "another qb". He is the best at what he does, but also a commitment from him means probably commitments from other Georgia players
They may be trying to go all-in for Deshaun Watson. Then again they may not sign another QB or at least not another blue-chipper. JT Barrett is already signed, right?
"Sherman ran an option play right through the south" - Greatest.Civil.War.Analogy.Ever
Absolutely, this is what I suspect (and what the evidence seems to lead to).
I think they feel great about JT Barrett (and that his injury won't be an issue), and Watson is perhaps the only QB they see as a must-have in the 2014 class. If they offer Barker (he is worthy of an offer) and he commits? That pushes away Watson, who is the QB they really want. I think they've come to grips with the fact that waiting for Watson may mean they lose Barker, and it appears they're okay with that. All of the signs point to their priority as:
1. Watson
2. Barker & everyone else a distant, distant second
I feel as if you are mistaken by talking about this years recruiting class. Maybe I'm wrong, anyways Ohio State will definitly sign another qb for the 2014 Class and he will probably be a blue chipper.
haha...I saw your question on the chat with Jared Shanker. My guess is he feels that after Watson, there is not much separating the other QBs we're after. So he's going all in for Watson, and if he doesn't get him then it's plan B.
HAHA. I can understand that. I hope plan A works out before plan b is no longer an option.
It's kind of like you're a check out guy and Kate Upton comes through your line. She's kind of flirting with you, so you flirt back, even though your girlfriend is working in the next lane. After Kate leaves, you apologize to your girlfriend and explain to her you were just being friendly.
Watson seems to be their QB of choice and although he's committed elsewhere (Clemson), he's visiting in February. I would think Urban and Co. will know more after his visit as far as if he'll flip or if they'll need to offer another QB.
I guess the anticipation is just killing me. lol.
Another consideration in this discussion is the # of scholarships that will be available for the 2014 class. Most projections I have seen are in the 15-20 total range. Yes, that includes attrition and guys who may leave early for the nfl (like Shazier and Roby). If the coaches really think that Watson is on another level than other QB in the 14 class (which I think they do), then they don't want to bring in someone like a Barker, and Watson. Bringing in two QB in that class doesn't seem ideal, with Barrett and Jones already here. Once Watson visits, the staff will have a much better feel for how likely he is to flip. If you've seen his highlights, you will know why the staff is prioritizing this guy.
I read in the ESPN "Rumors" section that Clemson is trying to flip ASU dual-threat QB Joshua Dobbs. Perhaps they see the writing on the wall - that Urban will get Watson.
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
Do you know how good Deshaun Watson is? I do and I know that Urban has a great chance to "flip" him, especially if Chad Morris gets a HC gig next year as many expect.
Until they know/think they are out on DW they will not offer anyone else and I think that is wise. They are all in on him.
This. Dude already holds the ALL TIME Georgia state passing record for yards (9,502) and TDs (110) - and still has a year left to pad both records. Georgia is not a slouch state when it comes to HS football (clearly, look at how hard OSU is recruiting GA's 2014 class). Worth waiting for.

Thanks for the stats!!!
Even tho Deshaun Watson has now been quoted as saying he's signing with Clemson, regardless if Chad Morris is there or not next season?
Yes.
If he's signing with Clemson regardless then why doesn't he just close of recruitment, tell coaches to stop calling or visiting him and not take any more visits?
Exactly. Nkemdiche was signing with Clemson too...until he changed his mind. Joey Bosa shut down his recruiting. Watson clearly has not.
I know a lot of guys that talked about playing together at one school mention playing with Drew... But a bunch of the GA recruits are coming up together w/ Deshaun... Possibility that weekend gets one or more commits and the 'dream team' of recruits gets Deshaun to join instead of Drew?
IMO, OSU wants to take just one QB in the 2014 class. The limited # of scholarships in the class plus that the fact that Jones has apparently got the "juice" now makes a 5th QB on the roster not needed.
Posted this a couple weeks ago...now what happens with the # 1 option not visiting last weekend??
He will visit this spring. Or when he gets a chance. Signing day is still a while away.
I could see the coaches waiting to offer anyone else at QB until they get a chance to see them at camps this summer. They will probably continue to pursue Watson, and if he does not show more interest by the summer, they will offer the kid that performs best at the Sumer camps.
I am actually a huge fan of Will Ulmer. If Cardale Jones and Barrett develop, it will most likely be a while before any of these 2014 QB's see the field.
