ESPiN posted an interesting "where are they now" type of article about the 2009 ESPN 150. My math may be wrong; however, I counted 7 Buckeyes and only two of those seem to have had a major impact for the Buckeyes. Interesting read and here is the link:

This is an Insider article ($) so the 7 Buckeyes I counted were Jamaal Berry (22), Dorian Bell (32), C.J. Barnett (88), Jamie Wood (99), Melvin Fellows (124), Jack Mewhort (126), and Duron Carter (131).
Those that did not make the ESPN 150: John Simon, Carlos Hyde, Jordan Hall, Reid Fragel and Zach Boren (among others).
Recruiting is like a box of chocolates I guess.

Yep. That's why it's so interesting, IMO. I hasten to guess that the better recruiters like Urban and Saban (gotta give the guy his due) definitely have a system that they swear by. Still, there are others that can see the potential in two and three-stars and build great programs while others spin their wheels with consistently Top-Ten classes. I know guys who love the NFL draft; recruiting is that for me.
I have no idea how coaches attempt to calculate all the factors that would lead one to believe that a high school football player will be successful at the next level. Will he be able to handle the work load of classes and the demands of year around football? Will he handle the responsibilities that go hand and hand with both? Will he develop physically as predicted? Will he be able to grasp the offense or defensive schemes, and thrive in that system? Will he make good personal choices with his free time? The questions seem endless. It's got to be a crap shoot.
