With all the recent activity of possibly missing on some recruits, and the staff reaching out to a few others in the 11th hour, my question is this. What would YOU do right now with the remaining scholly spots? You get to play the coaching staff for a day.
For me I think I would stop reaching for the other WR and just bank the scholarships for next year. 2014 should be a great class for us, so I would save them to pull as many of those great kids in that I can. If these last few kids in 2013 do not have tier heart set on OSU then I really don't want them.
What would YOU do coach...................?

I'd go for Bell, another OL, and Gibson... If I didn't land those guys, I'd bank the schollies. I'd consider trying to flip Stringfellow, but I haven't heard much about him as of late.
I really don't think the offers that have gone out the last few days are "reaching". They just guys that weren't on our radar. If you haven't yet watched the video on Clark, I suggest you do so, the guy looks legit. The kid from NC state looks pretty good too.
This particular staff, won't be like the last regime and just hand out schollies to guys simply because we have them to give. They'll only offer people they think can come in and be productive or valuable players to the team. I don't think they are reaching for these guys.
Trust me, I have watched Clark's video and it is legit. I loved it and said I wanted him BAD! I just think these kids are wondering "why now?". Trust me when i say that I would LOVE to land Clark, but he has chose to take his Clemson visit this weekend now too. Doesn't mean we are out, but not the sign I was looking for.
There is not right or wrong answer on this. I just posted it all in fun for all of us to play coach for a day based off of what we see and not what we think the staff does.
Kyrin Priester has set up a visit for 1/25, so we might have a shot at one of these guys...
I would create a forum topic and get the opinions of others.
And create a new snazzy title so it doesn't look like the other 1,000 forum topics like "Who do you want to finish this class" or "What players should we end with" or "Who do YOU think we should sign"
Sorry guys, only been here about two days. Note taken, don't start any topics as a new guy without searching the site extensively.
Thanks for the welcome
Welcome to the community buddy, don't let a little sarcasm deter you
1. Bell
2. Priester, if not him then Smith then Elder.
3. Hunt
I say the hell with Gibson, he has been on the radar and very close to committing since last spring. If he can't get it together now, I am not sure when he will. I'd pass on him, just like Timmons.
At some point in time, we'll have to bank the scholarships but with anticipated transfers, that is not a good idea. This team needs depth and more of it.
First of all I'd have a beer. Then I'd think it over.
In Urban I trust.

I would give Urban a call and ask him what I should do

My opinion is continue after bell this guy could be a stud I like smith I believe he could come in and help us at wr position this year Gibson to me is getting old keep hearing we are his favorites but he just won't commit he should either commit or move on plus his grades issue has me a little concerned. Plus we need an ol Hunt would be a good commit . Priester would be a good addition just might be a little late in the game but Urban can work his magic you never know
Bell, Hunt, and Gibson if we miss on any or all bank the schollies for next year
I wouldn't bank the schollies! with natural attrition the way it is, the schollies will be available again next year anyways. So might as well take on some kids who want to learn and get a free ride. Maybe offer the scholly to a walk on senior who deserves a reward for what he has done on the practice field.
but I with some of the others, the players they are going after are not reaches. Just because they were the first ones offered doesn't mean they aren't good enough. Remember, Urban plays differently than Tressel did. He offers 10X more recruits in hopes to get 1 out of those. If the top one doesn't, the next one does. Its like missing out on the #1 overall pick of the draft but still getting a first rounder. Still good!
Flip like a boss...
I'd take Smith/Clark but w/e the staff does is okay with me. They know what they are doing.
Part of me is starting to wonder if Urban got a couple silent verbals this past weekend (or prior to that) and has asked that they hold off until NSD to make a bigger splash for the Bucks. We know from the Trey Johnson interview on here that Urban told him to wait to announce until the AA game for better publicity. I think with only 2-3 more spots left and one being left for Bell on NSD he might have asked the other two (Gibson/Elder/Smith/Mystery) to wait. Either way In Urban I Trust.
if he got a silent from bell i doubt he would ask him to wait. only because of how intensely hes being recruited by everyone else... had bell said i want to commit and cancel my other visits... i find it very hard to believe he woulda said no thats ok take your visits and commit on nloi day
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
Bell, Skipper or Hunt (either one) and Smith, Wilson, or another good WR or two or three. Bc let's be honest with one another...we have no freaking idea this year who will for sure finish out the class. I've got everything crossed possible for positive things to happen for the good guys.

I would save a spot for Bell and Wilson or just the Robinson twins and bank the one or two remaining. If we could swing the twins along with Bell I would do that. Other than those I would not be trying for anyone else in 2013

I'd take the best outside receiver I could get. Then I'd take the best OT prospect. Then if the rumor about an OL transfer is true, I'd take another good OL, otherwise I'd stop at 1 WR and 1 OT.
Wilson is special
