So according to a report from a trusted Bama website, the Alabama Athletic Department have recently approved an $8.6 million dollar recruting complex. Of course it will be named the Nick Saban Recruting Complex but be available for all sports to use for recruiting players. This site list the complex having such features as, 4 paintball courses(yes 4!), BMX style dune-buggy course, 4-wheeler trail, laser tag, arcade, go-cart track, wave pool, white water rapids course, rock climbing wall, fishing pond, zip line just to name a few. This doesn't include the multiple food resturants planned to be included in the complex. I don't think Bama needed this complex to assist in their recruting but I gotta hand it to Nick Saban for being forward thinking. I'm sure once the Urbinator hears about this he pushes to build something similiar, I just hope we have a bigger fishing pond!

Once you sign you are not allowed in.
Well, there's always COSI for you guys.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

This is all becoming such a joke. If Bama builds one, others will follow. That will raise tuition, ticket prices and/or anything else that can be increased to fund this crap. What's next, a Disney World at each campus used soley for recruiting purposes? It will never end.
Well if it is a recruiting complex for athletic purposes only, tuition will not increase because our athletic department is self sustaining, one of the few.

That would be on the U of Miami campus
Put me down for $100 for the Urban F'n Meyer Recruiting Complex fund!
I understand the need to have facilities that are top notch; however, if this is true, then priorities are way more out of whack than I thought. I would applaud a university that built something matching that description as a recreational area for its students but, if it is a "recruiting complex" that is designed for athletes and not the general student body, that is ridiculous IMO.
Brilliant move, lets take kids and put them on BMXs and 4wheelers to better the odds of them breaking their necks!
Great idea!
if true wouldn't make sense because most programs don't even want their athletes to play basketball and/or ski let alone a BMX dune buggy course.
now what Calipari built for his team is brilliant! A four star hotel with luxury and all day buffet right across from the practice court and Rupp. Those kids live the life and recruits get to see it all.
I agree here... Build a dorm that has a buffet hall with some other luxury amenities in it, but not this insane idea that Bama is talking about. Maybe even build an apartment complex for student athletes to be housed in.
The stories that you hear most about athletes is a comfortable bed to sleep in. Most beds are too short or not comfortable for these kids who are 6'4'' + or 250 lbs +. To offer something like that plus ways to help them heal their bodies better would be the best idea. Spend the money on keeping the players up right, not on things that will cause more injuries.
Kind of almost wish it is true so we can see in 4-5 years Bama having major injuries issues in the future. Although it will then become a huge waste of money when research could use it more!
Have you seen all their medical hardships? LOL, they already have an injury problem, now they'll just have a reason to give out those hardships.
see BT, now it makes sense. "Hey there what's your name, why don't you go ahead and try to do a back flip on that BMX over there off that 50 ft ramp. You don't know how to do that, well now is a good time to try.", said Saban to non-starting junior.
I retract me original opinion! Now I see why Saban would do this.
I am having a hard time believing this.
WHAT!? I thought this was a joke (Saban Recruiting Complex) as was waiting for the punch line the whole post.
This is getting out of control...if true.
I got an idea. How about $8.6 million for a new cancer research center on Alabama's campus? I don't know, maybe attract a Nobel Prize winning scientist to head the department? Actually contribute something to this society while trying to make your joke of a school and education system more prestigious?
Excellent post
I hear that. Since when did Alabama ever care about academics/medical research?

In Alabama's defense no one in the state knows how to say the word "cancer". We should all just be proud of them for waking up every morning and putting their overalls on.
I dont know why this reminds me so much of Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch
Will you post the link of this trusted Bama website that speaks of this?
This is ridiculous because athletes that are enrolled won't have access to it unless it was opened to all students. I'm thinking it would be a violation of the NCAA. I might be wrong, though. Regardless it's just plain crazy.
I am gonna have to go with link or B.S. on this one.

Yeah, pretty sure this is a joke.
They are kidding around about it on the Alabama 247 boards:

Sorry I didn't have the link when I posted this. But the link posted is what I saw. Not sure if the complex will have everything listed but I could see Bama building something like it.

Here's my problem if Smith decides to fund one: WHEN IN THE **** DO ATHLETES HAVE THE TIME FOR ALL THAT ****! AT OHIO STATE, OUR PLAYERS ACTUALLY HAVE TO GO TO CLASS AND STUDY TO EARN THEIR DEGREE AND BARELY HAVE ANY TIME FOR THAT ****! BESIDES, IF THEY DID, THEY WOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO USE IT BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO STAY IN SHAPE FOR THE NEXT SEASON AND NOT PLAY ANY OTHER SPORTS THAT CAN CAUSE AN INJURY! MAYBE AT ALABAMA YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS BECAUSE COLORING IS A MAJOR, BUT THIS IS OHIO ****ING STATE!

Ok deep breaths...
If this was true, it would probably be the top link on /r/nottheonion
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
