Visiting mizzou officially this weekend and staff knows about it. I did some digging and wouldn't worry much about this. Still confident all Buckeye.

It would appear that Zeke has taken to a practice which is close to my heart...Twumping. What's that you ask? Tweeting about your dumps...

wow you got downvoted for that? Good lord some people need to lighten up. +1 for being informative.
Oh, you can also call it Twooping.
Yeah - that was a total joke...I'd read a interview with a athlete who was tweeting every time he made a 2 & called it twumping...I thought it was hysterical. I guess there are a few folks who didn't see the humor. Oh well - I'll live. Twooping is great too by the way...

I think there is occasionally some backlash by old schoolers to the heavy use of social media today. But i agree to the extent that i wouldnt want to know when you are shitting or about the feces itself. Some things are probably better left unsaid.
I don't myself tweet, twump, or twoop for the record...

Hope the kid sticks with us - if not good luck to him - he'll miss a heck of a ride
I'm suprised to see so many insiders confident. Missouri sure doesn't think the official visit is a waste of time or money.
Neither did FSU.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
That's called desperation
well of course they are going to try and land him when he is there for an OV. What are they going to say, "Well, he is just taking this visit out of respect, so let's leave him alone and just let him have a nice weekend on us." When players come to tOSU that we all think have no chance of signing, the staff still puts on a show and trys to peak their interest. Thats the whole point of these OV's.
I am all for kids taking as many visits as possible and making sure they are making the right decision for themselves. It is worse for tOSU if a player commits then leaves after a year or two because they have second thoughts than if the player goes somewhere else in the beginning. Plus a 18 year old kid is much more likely to give it 100% in the weight room and practice if they aren't thinking things might be better somewhere else.
Perhaps the most well-reasoned analysis of this issue I've read. Good thinking.
Only one thing has bothered me about Eliott (only if what I read is true), and that is his desire/confirmation that he be the only RB recruited. Hope that is not true but I have read that on many posters commennts in the past. Big difference looking at pics of Green and Elliot, there is many other great RBs out there aka Wilson.
Is this an about EZE?
Reading his follow up to a question about EzE (that all is quiet, "which isn't a bad thing"), it sounds to me like he's just stirring the pot without any actual evidence.
Really hope we do not lose this kid. What color box would it take to announce that? It would have to be something that is dreary and depressing like maize.....or blue/sun. We must keep good thoughts.
Still gray, but it would feel much more like the dreaded gray boxes of doom from early 2011. Those were the worst.
Class of 2008
IRT AV:
Very possible. Apparently there's an insider article out from Bournival about Zeke's visit, but I'm not an insider so I can't speak to what it says.
The comment is either EXTREME pot-stirring, or he knows something he's not willing to go on record with just yet. I'm gonna hope for pot-stirring. If we lose Zeke, miss on Wilson, and Green has gone to Michigan? YEEEEEESH. That would be one bad recruiting weekend haha.
Does Larry Fitzgerald count or is he out because he had to go to prep school and then picked pitt?
Not really thinking he decommit's. People are panicking over nothing here. However, if by chance he does then good luck to him. It's his life and he can do whatever he chooses.
Dontre Wilson isn't worth losing Zeke.

According to the Ozone, EzE has tweeted that he will not be doing any interviews today.
Champions Bleed Scarlet & Gray
That is true. He said not to call or text him today. He's tired and just wants to rest today.
I don't know his exact quote, but if he said what you said he said, I don't think it is good news for the Bucks. Translation: "I want to think about it for a day".
Exactly what i was thinking...
Got a direct message on twitter from ESPN's Brad Bournival (I felt like a celebrity/insider there for 10 seconds haha, how sad).
He said he personally is not worried about Zeke flipping. He said he's taking Zeke at his word (that he just visited Missouri to honor his parents/their history at Missouri), and he believes Zeke stays pat to his OSU commitment.
I sure hope he's right!
Didn't see this before I posted my "I have a bad feeling about this" comment... I'm now feeling a lot more hopeful.
If Elliott doesn't decommit, and Clark + Wilson commit, our offense is going to be filthy in the next few years. Marshall is definitely good enough to play on the outside, with Wilson and Clark in the slots, and Zeke in the backfield... speed for days.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
The staff hasn't said anything about this in a while, I have a bad feeling about this...
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
I don't believe the staff is allowed to discuss players until they have signed their NLOI. Silence from the staff shouldn't be interpreted as a bad thing.
Class of 2008
Think he means 11W staff...But I'm with you, not worried.
Maybe he meant the staff from eleven warriors??? Sounds like there is nothing to report since Zeke tweeted he is not doing interviews today....I don't know what to make of the whole thing....other than we will have to wait to find out and if he doesn't come to Ohio State it will suck but Ohio State will be fine.
I think he may have been talking bout the 11W staff not tosu's staff.
edit: srry they posted theirs while i was posting mine
My bad. 11W staff makes a lot more sense in this context.
Class of 2008
Gonna go down to the wire I think!
Well that's not good.
I admit, I just don't understand. He has been a big Buckeye recruiter, one of our biggest cheerleaders, has a relationship with the coaches, not to mention the other OSU players in his class, and yet... I hope he decides that OSU is the best place for him.
I think I will try to bypass the recruiting forum for a few days. What was fun and interesting stuff is giving me heartburn, which is really ridiculous, I don't know these kids or their parents, nor do I live in their communities. Gah.
Sounds like Drayton is heading to see him this week. I expect Urbs to make a trip there if necessary. Really hoping EZE is in the class. Great kid and really fun player to watch.
I hope he decides to stay. He has a great attitude and would hate to lose him.
How Firm Thy Friendship....
Apparently at the Mizzou basketball game they did the same thing Maryland did to Stefon Diggs last year and passed out flyers about him and started chanting his name.
Yep. The reason we don't do this at Ohio State is because athletics/compliance asks us not to focus on individual recruits but rather "the atmosphere of the event".
not worried about losing a running back...I'm sure Urban likes him a lot but we have other areas where we are thin.
D. Anthony
I'm still hoping this whole thing is a way for Zeke to remind the staff what they have in him as they pursue Wilson. It's been said that the Dontre Wilson visit plans had no effect on Zeke's renewed interest in Mizzou, but to me it's just way too coincidental for that to be true.
They will likely play different positions (RB vs slot), so it's probable that it's coincidental.
Yep, it's been made pretty clear that Wilson would play the Slot and Elliott would be RB, despite the fact that most recruiting sites list Wilson at the same position as Elliott (All-Purpose RB). It's very possible it's coincidental, the conspiracy theorist in me just runs wild on this one. One day Elliott is the biggest OSU cheerleader ever, a Wilson visit is announced, a few days later Elliott's official visit to Mizzou is announced, Zeke supposedly has a "home-run visit," things afterward are very mum. Gotta wonder why Mizzou is suddenly giving him something to think about, when it didn't appear they were really ever a real threat until a week ago around the same time the Wilson visit was announced.
To be fair, we don't really know how long Missouri has been in play here. Alex said they weren't much of a threat, but Elliot certainly didn't.
Well, I absolutely would love to have him, but he's gotta do what he thinks is best. The fact that he went shows he was at least slightly open, so who knows. Home school vs big time coach/big time program.
At the end of the day I don't really comprehend this. It's Ohio State vs Missouri. They're simply not good. The whole family ties have some impact but when you evaluate the schools there's no comparison. I can't see this being a threat. He's the only rb recruit in this class. Urban doesn't let him go. The kid had been one of our biggest outward supporters since committing.
Greg Jennings "I put my team on my back"
I also find it a bit amusing that Missouri already has a 4* RB committed as well.....
Missouri is a program that peaked three years ago - but still not in the top 10 - and now is on the decline, with a coaching staff that did whatever they were going to do and it wasn't enough. Academically, if Mizz were in the Big Ten, it would be at the very end of the pack. Not sure how that school "hits a HR," unless someone has sentimental reasons to see it more favorably than it really is.
Well - I think that they (Mizzou) like to proclaim that they are a part of the mighty SEC now, you know, the conference created by the almighty himself (disclaimer: that statement is a joke and in no way is religious) so I do know that is something they are selling to anyone who will listen..."Come play in the conference that wins all the NCs" That & they did the EZE chant at the BBall game. Regardless of what people say about that being desperation, that little trick seems to work well sometimes.
Other than that, I don't know how they could have hit a homerun either. But if a kid walks away from a school feeling wanted, and thinking it would be a good fit, regardless of their status in the football or academic world, then that is a homerun. I just hope it's an inside the park homerun, that OSU still has a chance to to make a great throw to homeplate & stop. I've said a number of times since he announced, but this is my favorite offensive commit & I'd like it to stay that way...
The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.
The Mizzou fans did their part at the BB game with the peer pressure chant. Well good for them..that is over now....done. I feel the in home coming up with OSU should focus on the academics and the on going support system for the players I hear about. Yes, the fans gave the impression it's all about him when they had their queue cards at a game, but OSU must show it is all about him..."on-going"...and that it is not grand standing ploy on a queue card....it is real, it is important to his academic success, and his academic success is the one thing that is all about him. If Woody was visting him, I have a hunch that is sort of how it would go. Just a thought...
Have you seen the video of EzE visit... Stuff like that can qualify as a home run, that passion and feel. That being said, that trip looks like a pretty big HR and I imagine would be hard for Mizzou to hit better than that... (And that HR wasn't even to get EzE to commit, lol.)
I'm just not worried about it. I want players who want to be a Buckeye, and if he has changed his feelings, so bed it. RB is not an area I am in "OMG WE NEED PEOPLE" mode. That being said, really would love to see him apart of the class.
I'm up to here with this story. Zeke Elliott flipping to Mizzu, IF in fact that's what happens, isn't the most frustrating part of this. The fact that he's been "all Buckeye" for the better part of a year now and decides to re-open his recruitment less than two weeks from NLOI day is what's frustrating to me. If Dontre Wilson's recruitment is what has Elliott bent out of shape, and to me that's a big if as Meyer has stated Wilson is being recruited as an H-back/receiver, but if that's the reason Elliott is vacillating then maybe Missouri is the better career choice for him anyway. Meyer has publically stated that his programs are built on competition and pressure. EVERYTHING is a competition per Urban Meyer. If POTENTIAL competition is effecting a recruit this much, BEFORE he's even set foot on campus, then I'm not so sure he's ready to be a part of what Meyer is trying to build. At Mizzu you'll have much less pressure, far fewere fans, far less exposure, and a coaching staff that, quite frankly, doesn't compare to what's at Ohio State.
Relax dude. You just said you're "up to here" on the internet about the decision of a football recruit. EZE doesn't owe you a damn thing. Chill.
Agree with you about your competition point. However, not to nitpick but no one on Ohio State's staff has officalially said what Wilson is being recruited as (rb, wr, h-back, or otherwise) as coaches can't comment on recruits.
I don't read this as a competition thing as much as a possible lack of communication thing. With NLOI Day right around the corner and the staff all across the country, chances are some of the long time commits (like Elliot) may not be getting as much contact as they once had. I have no way of knowing that, but it seems plausible especially given the ataff's much publicized recent travel schedule. I dont have anyinside sources, I'm not from St Louis, etc. I just think he may have been getting pressure from Friends at Mizzou (possibly former teammates), kids he goes to school with, neighbors, obviously Mizzou's staff and with possiblu less contacy from ODU he decided to check it out "officially." Don't envy the kids position certainly a lot of pressure behind his ultimate choice, he has to weigh what might be most comfortable right now vs. what will be best long term, and franklyl making decisions like that is tough for almost everyone. Even if its wishful thinking I think he ends up a Buckeye come Feb 6th. Not only is Urban one of the beat closers in the business, but Elliot seems to have a good head on his shoulders as well as his parents (no helicopter rents here). Ultimately, I think this is a lot to do about nothing and I look forward to watching him play next fall.
I think 2 things right now:
1. It's obvious that the "nothing to worry about" line was wrong. Obviously there is plenty to worry about here if you're an Ohio State fan. In fact, these situations usually result in a flip. And I would expect that in this situation considering all factors.
2. Anybody that's critical of EZE for the impending "flip" needs to get a grip. If there is any one person that is more affected by this decision than anyone, it's Ezekiel Elliot, not Joe MessageBoard. Let him make that decision.
Remember Bri'onte Dunn's recruitment? Urban knows how to close.
curious as to what factors you considered?
1.) that before he left on this visit he and his parents both confirmed to multiple sources he was "solid" OSU?
2.) that he tweeted to everyone the word "Chill" when being confronted about this trip?
3.) That he has tweeted NOTHING about flipping or playing with any Mizzou players?
Just trying to get a sense of where you are coming from and what factors you are going by...because it certainly isn't anything from him or his family...stop listening to bloggers that follow the SEC and Mizzou..they will say and do anything to stir the pot.
After having said all this I still think there is a chance this goes sour but I think that chance is less than 20%. I also agree with your number 2 statement whole heartedly! If he does flip lets be gentlemen and wish him well.
Chance of winning a national title at Mizzou 0%... Chance of winning a title at OSU 60%... No research for those stats, but I think he will have a shot at 2 titles in his 4 years. If he goes to Mizzou I wish him well but it will be a mistake.
I agree. Mizzou currently ranks 12th in recruiting in the SEC. He MIGHT see the Gator Bowl, and with the NCAA moving to a playoff system...He will have a 12 game season...every season. Too many factors right now, i think "Home" is where the heart is...but i think he realizes he needs to do what LeBron did.
I think Zeke is certainly considering a flip. Those that discount Mizzou because of their mediocre football are not considering the whole "hometown hero" thing. After all, it worked with Dorial Beckam-Green. The fact that it's the alma mater of mom and pop is also not insignificant. However, I think the relationships that Zeke has built with the other members of this class, and Urban's closing touch keep him a Buckeye.
Man, hope these aren't related.
I was just about to comment on this. Don't like it.
C.L.E Man I rep my town, everyday bleed that orange and brown.
I believe Stan Drayton is his recruiter. Although 247 lists Coombs.
Pantoni was tweeting about Real Housewives of Atlanta.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
I admittedly can't get enough of Buckeye recruiting but I'm definitely trying not to get too worked up over this. Zeke is a fantastic player and I would love to have him in this class but I can completely understand if he want's to play for his hometown of Mizzou. Zeke has to choose the place he most wants to be at, he will be there for 4 years of his life and I find no fault in him jumping to Mizzou if he decides that is the place he most wants to be.
I have full trust and confidence in Urban F. Meyer and the rest of the staff... We will have one hell of a team with or without Zeke.
I just can't see him flipping. I'm not sure his dad would let him after this exchange on the Coombs video they posted awhile back on YouTube. hahaha

He's not going to Ohio St now. Not keeping his commitment. Haha. Must be afraid of Michigan

For the record Eze isn't afraid of that bitch ass school up north! I am HIS father and I approved of that message! And he is still a buckeye bitch!
selmuhammad is Ezekiel's dad. Lol. Love this guy.
Those comments are under this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUZBaB4J1xU&feature=player_embedded
makes me feel a little better.
"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
He also had this to say if you click on his profile:
"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
1) how could you be pitched that schpiel from Coombs and not commit!?
2) not sure I'm into his dad talking smack on YouTube comments section.
3) would really love to see this kid in scarlet and gray. Hope he stays a Buck.
4) Gus Ferotte is high school coach!?
Sorry if this is a repost. I didn't see it earlier in the thread, but I may have missed it.
Relevant section (bolded for emphasis):
"Mizzou is trying to sell Elliott on the Jeremy Maclin story. Maclin was originally committed to Oklahoma before flipping to Missouri and we all know how that turned out.
While Elliott was at Missouri this weekend, another big time running back named Dontre Wilson was visiting Columbus. A source told USATodayHSS.com that Wilson's visit has caused a little tension between Elliott and Ohio State.
The new offensive coordinator for Mizzou has also thrown a wrinkle in to Elliott's decision. Mizzou has told Elliott that Josh Henson's offense will be more tailored to the running back than in years past.
Stacy Elliott, Ezekiel's father, says his son's head is spinning and he is slept the entire car ride home."
Bingo! Nice find ATXB!
I've had a feeling all along that there's something up with Wilson visiting and subsequently Zeke's official visit suddenly popping up. Zeke was 100% OSU for all we knew, then Wilson's visit is announced, and soon after Zeke has an official visit to Mizzou planned and needs time to think about things. Too coincidental.
Doesn't seem like Meyer and his staff to misplay it this badly, unless 1) they are confident Elliott will stay, 2) they're confident Wilson will commit, or 3) both 1 and 2. This isn't their first (or second) recruiting rodeo, and losing a fairly prized recruit because you went after another recruit whom you also failed to land sounds like an amature mistake.
I really, really doubt that is actually his dad.
So, it turns out this kid and I are practically neighbors. Maybe I should go knock on his door, find out what's up?
Yeah no. Please don't, we would disown you as a fan who went too far.
Don't worry, I wasn't seriously entertaining the idea. And I don't actually know where he lives, I just know his school is nearby. Saw that he's from STL, so I was intrigued about which high school.
I assumed as much! I went to high school with Darron Lee, so I can relate somewhat.
If you do, be sure you are wearing M*chigan gear. That should solidify EzE's commitment to Ohio State.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Sounds like, given current concerns, wearing Mizzou gear would be more useful.
He might be use to that by now
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
eh..... some kids verbaly commit to a school and then visit a different school, until they're sure. Some kids get a scholarship "offer" that they aren't allowed to accept, until the school is sure they really need the kid. Works both ways.
Don't know if any of you know this: Don Scott has a great observation tower (their old traffic control tower) open to the public. Can't imagine any flight taking an OSU coach on a last minute visit to the Elliott home would originate anywhere else. Anybody live close enough to run over and see if there's a lear jet fueling up?
please tell me you are kidding
About which part, you staking out Don Scott at 11:30pm, or an OSU coach knocking at the Elliotts' door at 1AM?
Not kidding about the observation deck though. Highly recommend it to anyone who likes airplanes. Or anyone with kids who like airplanes.
LOL
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
haha fair enough. the observation decks are definitely cool
I believe I read that Drayton was supposed to visit Zeke this week and that wouldn't be a surprise if Urban visited to ease tensions.
Not really sure why Zeke is mad about Wilson tho when the staff are recruiting them for different positions.
As great as Wilson is, there's no way he's worth losing Zeke over. I say get Clark, an OL, and keep a spot open for Bell, and make sure we keep Zeke.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Sounds like an excuse to me
You guys creep me out...
Yeah, it gets really silly. I can't even bear the twitter stalking, and most notoriously, the ensuing interpretation of tweets of recruits and coaches. I really don't mind an interest in football recruiting. Its not usually something I meticulously keep track of until this time of the year, but to each their own. Alex's work obviously demands a lot of respect, but as for other posters... Well, if only some knew how ridiculous it all looks from an outside perspective. I mean, a recruit tweeting about making phone calls and a coach tweeting about a TV show has triggered panic.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
Zeke does everything Dotre does and he's 25lbs heavier. We cannot lose him in a class that already could use more guys who can score.

I'm kinda green at posting on here...i posted this a few minutes ago but didn't see it on the board. So once more
The Mizzou fans did their part at the BB game with the peer pressure chant. Well good for them..that is over now....done. What Missouri did is an NCAA violation. The school - and if they print cue cards, they were complicit- can't direct crowd attention to a recruit. I remember when TP made an official visit just before signing day. At the first time out of the BB game, Brewster and Shugarts - already enrolled - were introduced. Of course, when they returned to their seats, they were seated next to TP. And the crowd started to chant. But he wasn't recognized by the school. No, Shugarts didn't walk onto the floor before play ended.
True, it is a violation, like Gene Smith recording a video specifically for a recruit. It's a secondary violation, we report more of them at tOSU than any other school.
It's a matter of whether it was athletics or the student org. Technically we could pull it off if it was the Nuthouse' idea and we printed the stuff, since we're a student org. It's not necessarily a violation if athletics was not involved. I saw the cue sheets, they looked like something students distributed. The school/athletics cannot, but students surely can.
Now athletics asks us not to, just to avoid any and all issues.
Ex. I was in contact with Pantoni about FNL and organizing it to get a bigger crowd of students there, which was a struggle with it being in July. The only thing he could say was along the lines of "the more the merrier" and couldn't give any specifics on our involvement/cheers/what we he wanted us to do at the event, so we abided by athletics' general rule and didn't draw any attention to specific recruits.
Oh absolutely Urbz...I just mean, even IF the school/dept was behind the specific chant, at worst it is a secondary violation. I want EzE as much as everyone else, but lets not go taddling to the NCAA, we can all get along without that corrupt organization sticking its nose in our business.
In home visit with OSU today should let us know where this stands. Before the trip mom told us repeatedly he was all solid to OSU and was taking the trip to give them one last look as it was his parents' alma mater and he grew up around Mizzou. She told us not to be concerned etc so we weren't.
Obviously you'd want EzE to come out right after that trip and say he's still all OSU but he didn't so now we have people panicking. Lets sit back and relax and let OSU do their job, as they are the best in the business.
Am I as confident as I was Friday? No, but I still think he was just a 17 year old caught up in excitement that a whole student section at the school he grew up rooting for was chanting his name. Imagine that happening to you all at The Schott at 17! I think he ends up at Ohio State and I'm sticking with that unless I hear something else, which I'd pass along to you all.
Thanks, well said asessment.
I think it would have been really hard for him to come out, right after his visit, and say im solid tOSU. He just went to his home state school and got the red carpet treatment all weekend long. They made him feel special and for him to leave that visit and 5 minutes later say, Im all buckeye, would be perceived as extremely disrespectful. Everything will be known after the visit today IMO.
Just spoke to someone I trust regarding this situation. Drayton and Herman will be in the STL all day and through the evening, but I was told there is no need for concern and all is well with Elliott to OSU.
Thanks Alex!

I believe this is the front view of the picture I posted a few days ago. Might I say that the herd and Alex look better from behind.
Greg Jennings "I put my team on my back"
That's what I was trying to play off of!
I dont always root for college athletics, but when i do (which is most of the time) I choose THE Ohio State Buckeyes.
Thanks for reminding me that the Lakers won. :D
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.

I dont always root for college athletics, but when i do (which is most of the time) I choose THE Ohio State Buckeyes.
In a weird, dirty, don't tell your friends... heartbeat.
Don't tell your friends? Hell, I'd tell everybody!
Yep, thank you very much!
Do you think Urban will pay Zeke a visit before NSD to seal the deal or will Drayton and Herman be able to do that today?
I don't think he can. Pretty sure the HC just gets one home visit. Or else creepers like Ron Zook would sleep outside recruits houses in an SUV waiting to drive them to school.
Thank you, kind sir!
Just watched the Kerry Coombs video Zeke's dad put on youtube gave me chills ....Gotta let Urban "stone cold" Meyer do what he does!!!
Hardly home but always reppin
Even if he doesn't come to Ohio State, the sun will still rise the day after NSD and Ohio State will still play really good football. I don't know if people really get as upset as they say on here, but these recruits just aren't worth the ulcers they seem to be causing people.
Can't speak for everyone but I don't get too upset...I kid about it & it is nerve racking no doubt - but no ulcers - no sleepless nights. It does seem like this time last year the news was all good while this year it's more of a roller coaster ride...But yes, you are right - OSU will certainly survive in football regardless.
The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.
There a number of factors involved, but we can't get all caught up because the kid let us squirm a little bit after going all in for Dontre. If I'm EzE I wouldn't be missing out on a possible dynasty that Meyer is building here - with a very likey chance to win a NC as a freshman & be one of the "IT" guys defending that title going forward.
Heck, we've seen Oregon make it work with Thomas, Barner, & James, I'd imagine if we were fortunate enough to land Wilson, we'd see some thing similar with EzE, Wilson, & Marshall, but with Dunn thrown in to batter guys & wear them down, while allowing EzE & company to break loose.
At this point, looking at Meyer's targets, he's making a hell of compilation adding BIG Power Run & Oregon Multiple Threats to his spacing & Spread attack & building an SEC style D on the other side of the ball.
If I'm a recruit I understand that the more guys with me who can win individual match ups, the better chances I have to win my own & not be keyed on because there are threats everywhere, including my dual-threat QB. Hell if I'm EzE, I'D be recruiting Dontre.

The big kate? Might wanna fix that. The big kate is a horrible football nickname.
Yeah, I lol'd too. But you're right, especially for a linebacker it's right up there with Ryan Dame Shazier.

By far my favorite hit and celebration.
I believe that was in Tampa at the Outback Bowl. I was at that game and as impressed as I was with the hit, I was just as impressed that the Auburn player got up and walked to the sidelines.

I think there's been more talk about what Ezekiel is going to do rather than which option is in his best interests. And I think it very clearly is Ohio State.
The only thing that makes Missouri attractive from a "best interests" standpoint would be the depth chart. He will probably the see the field earlier and more often in Columbia. Of that I have no doubt.
But it is very doubtful that Mizzou will be able to showcase his skills better than Ohio State. They don't have the offense or the talent. It doesn't matter how good you are if the quarterback and the offensive line can't keep the defense from being in your face all game long. In Columbus, he'll have room to operate because he'll have a better offensive line, a better offense, and a quarterback (whether it be Braxton or JT or 2014 recruit) to keep the defense honest.
In addition, playing in the SEC may be attractive to certain respects because it is the best conference in the country. But even with Zeke, they'll be the SEC whipping boy for the foreseeable future. And that makes it even harder for him to display his talents putting their Charmin soft OL up against the big DLines of the SEC.
In the long run, honoring his commitment to Ohio State would be the best decision for EZE.
In the long run, the decision that EZE makes is the best decision for EZE.
Huh??
Kids (and adults) make bad/unfortunate "life decisions" all the time. One such decision might involve attending a school that turns out to be different than what the student expected it would be and/or not conducive to that student maximizing his/her potential.
The other thing is that he obviously has a good relationship with his parents, and Columbia is a LOT closer to his hometown than Columbus is.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Well, you know, we interent blog commenters truly know what's best for Mr. Elliot. Clearly we're the voice of reason here, and he should listen to us.
/sarcasm
Weren't we just complaining about Oregon fans saying Wilson would be making a life mistake by going to Ohio State? We're doing the same thing. Just saying.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
I was never worried about EZE. Ok, I lied, I was a little worried. If only because this guy has been my favorite recruit. I know in 1-3 years we'll be chanting his name every Saturday afternoon as he scores touchdown after touchdown. Hoping he sees some good playing time next year with Hyde.
Also, am I the only one who loves it when the parents of recruits (who are almuni elsewhere) are just as excited and pumped to be buckeyes as the recruits are?
Does anyone else have a weird feeling about this? Not because I beleive he will go or stay but because he committed so long ago and because he almost felt like he was already part of the team. To seem him wavering (or whatever he is doing) just feels weird.
Thanks for the info Alex. Can't remember where I read it,(maybe 11W) but EzE was thinking about visiting Mizzou way back in November. Personally I think it has less to do with OSU recruiting Wilson and more to do with the pressure of a hometown kid reluctant to visit his hometown school and his parents' Alma Matre. Imagaine if a stud player lived within an hour from OSU and selected another school & didn't even give OSU a visit. Ohhh the hatred this community would have for the young man. I believe the in home visit by the Bucks staff will seal the deal. Also, we can't expect EzE to just come out and "tweet" that he's still solid to OSU less than 24 hrs from his OV to Mizzou. Some kids do have some respect & I'm sure his parents have a grip on things. No way would he disrespect their former school and his community.
Go Bucks!
Why would he get their hopes up and then let them down? I believe he has true interest in them, whether it is genuine or pressure from family and friends. Even though he is only around 18, is he man enough to stand up to the pressure of telling them he is all Buckeye? If the answer to that is 'No' then he is probably better off to go to Missou where there is far less pressure. Playing for OSU is a pressure cooker every day. Either way, best of luck to him.
I am still confident he is a Buckeye, FWIW
It's worth a lot.

I really hope he ends up a Buckeye but people hanging on EZE'S every tweet is just sad. You do realize you are trying to interpret obscure comments from a teenage kid and breaking them down like there is some secret cypher as to if he is going to flip to Mizzu.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Good info here.
Sorry if this has already been posted.
Except Wilson is not being recruited as a RB....slot receiver is what he is being recruited for....and mizzou might tell him different....then I would tell Zeke....funny now all of a sudden their telling you they are "tailoring their offense for the RB" now that they got you on campus.
I'm just as worried and upset as everyone else, but look at it like this- even if he flipped were still loaded at RB. Hall, hyde....still have rod smith brionte dunn and people forget about warren ball (was having a great camp until he was hurt). Plus we have been #1 rb 2014 jalen hurds leader for some time. Eze may be one of the fan favs and would hurt. But where there is rain.....there is a rainbow...or something like that
Think he's firmly commited. Just saw on Jbook's twitter that Elliot's mother (I think that's who it is) said Stacy his father said the visit was good but that's all they weren't doing any interviews. People are trying to make this out more than what it is.
FWIW I don't really see how that means he is firmly committed.
If he is going to switch, I would imagine he would wait as long as he can. If he was that firmly committed I would think he would have already said it.
You know, I think I agree with you. If his decision was so firm then I think we would have heard that. Trey came back from his visit and knew where he wanted to be. You would have thought with the coaches being there today that we would have heard, "yep, I'm in" by now. Not saying he's not a Buckeye, just saying I think EZE is weighing the options. He just got back from a visit where he was offered the keys to drive the car, so to speak. He has to decide if he wants to look fly in that car by himself, or ride the tour bus to the national championships with a TEAM. JMO
I'll believe what Alex said until otherwise noted.
Here, here. In Alex I trust. Anybody know what the record number of comments on a thread is? This is the last time I visit this damn thread until he signs. Probably. Most likely.
You'll be back...they all come back to the EzE thread...mwahahaha...mwahahaha!!

Was trying to upvote this but phone hates me.
Can we start a new thread on this guy? This one is becoming too unwieldy. What is protocol on doing so?
@EzekielElliott: S/o to my boy @johnnytownsend1 GO FOLLOW HIM RIGHT NOW. OSU commit at punter. Show him loveeeee #BuckeyeNation
Step away from the ledge.
~Because we couldn't go for three~
I was going to follow Townsend but when I looked at the account it said he was from Oregon. Not sure that's really him.
