Elder vs. Wilson

Is it more realistic that we land Dontre Wilson or Corn Elder? Which would we rather have, or could we land both? Personally I was more impressed with Elder's film but either one would be fantastic gets.

Do we have room to take all of those?

Personally, I'd rather have Timmons.  But I guess that doesn't answer your question.

It was said somewhere on 11W by either Alex or Derek that interest between Elder and OSU has cooled off significantly on both sides. I don't think Corn is coming to Columbus.

BN link on Quick Bits today said Elder had a good visit and OSU and UCLA are in the lead. Only my speculation (uneducated), but I think his desire to play basketball is slowing the process down for his decision and recruitment.

I visit regularly and don't remember the staff ever saying that interest "cooled off significantly." There hasn't been a lot of noise from either side after the OV last weekend, but Elder had a great visit and has a top 2 of OSU and UCLA, with Vandy and GT lingering. It really comes down to whether he we have enough space and whether he wants to pursue basketball, I don't think it's a case where one of the sides has lost interest.

I have been one of the louder Elder fans on the site, but even I recognize that he is likely outside looking in on the numbers game. With the staff pushing Dontre Wilson, several new receivers, the Oregon twins, etc., it appears that he is a secondary option.

Obviously a lot of people are very excited about Wilson possibly turning to the good guys. I don't know/haven't seen a lot of film with him but I'm still happy to share in the excitement in him considering being a Buckeye. My question is, how does he (and Corn Elder for that matter) compare to Diggs at Maryland as a player?

Couple recruiting guys today said Wilson was not happy with Oregon cuz they told him Kelly was staying and NOT to take any visits. Balls in your court Urban

Elder's recruitment has slowed down because of space, IMO. Only so many spots and Dontre Wilson, the Robinson twins, Hunt, Bell, Skipper, etc. all still in picture.

Going to be tough for Corn to get in.

I think Drake Harris makes into this class. 6'-5" with speed. Stud outside the hashes. Be a nice flip from Sparty.

I trust Urban will make the best evaluation of the kid both on and off the FB field and I think everyone he is still recruiting have the potential to be great players.  They are all studs in their own way.  I'm not so much worried about who it is that "we get" as opposed to essentially feeling that UFM has demonstrated through the offers he hands out for OL for instance, that he isn't willing to take something he doesn't believe in being successful.  Essentially he isn't going to take someone just because he needs a receiver or a OL or a LB or whatever other positions he is hoping to fill.  I trust his recruiting style in that he doesn't settle if he isn't really into a kid he isn't giving them a scholarship to play for OSU.  With so many new offers going out to 2013 ath/wrs/OL/etc....I have just decided to somewhat tune out until I see we have got someone new committed or until signing day.  I have decided to stop comparing different players and so forth, because in reality none of us know enough about any of these young men to actually say one is going to be better than the other when it comes down to it.  How can I honestly say Wilson is better than Timmons or Gibson or that Clark is better than Smith and it goes on and on.  Thought I would share those thoughts with anyone who has a feeling of agonizing over the different players.
