Hate to be negative nancy, but I always hate when recruits come while its snowing.
In a perfect world it'd be 70 and sunny every day, but that's not reality, even where Wilson is from it snows. So it's not like he's from some tropical island where every day is a Corona Commercial. I get what you are saying, but I just really don't think weather is the significant factor that people assign to it.

It could be a positive, too. Rather than speculate/have it be an unknown, they'll see what all the fuss is about, and realize that it's not the nightmare that SEC/PAC-12 coaches probably make it out to be. Ultimately, if they are 4 star recruits, they are concerned about getting to the NFL. And there's a good bit of pro football that gets played in the snow.
Coming from Cali, when I went on my college visits to OSU it was in the spring so weather is nice. I was use to snow, but only for small amounts at a time, weekends in Mammoth and things like that. When I finally moved to Columbus for freshman year, I was pumped for football in the snow. My 1st experience of living in snow was awesome for the 1st week, living in it for months at a time really sucked a lot lol. You eventually get use to it, but man was it hard for me to adjust to below 30s, coming from 60s is winter for us in Cali lol.
Still wouldn't trade my experience in Columbus for anything. Almost went to UCLA for undergrad, snow aside, I'm glad I picked OSU =)
I lived in Ohio from my birth in 1973 until 1998, and then from 2000 to 2003. I never wanted to deal with those winters. It was kinda fun to shovel snow when I went back for Christmas this year, though...
Exactly, the novelty of snow is better than it just being cold without snow. I was on the highway not long ago heading through west virgina which was covered with snow. Going through the toll booth ahead of me was a vehicle from Alabama. They rolled down their window to touch the dirty highway snow with huge smiles on their faces.
Most of the NFL cities have snow and many have brutal snow. Any prospect should get used to it.

Oh, but you get to appreciate the other seasons so much mo....oh who am I kidding I loathe the winter more and more every year. There is, though, no place in the world I'd rather be than Columbus, Ohio in the fall. So you'll have that going for you...which is nice.
I love early fall, late spring, and summer. But frankly I could have been a the beach this weekend in shorts... No one likes winter in Ohio, they just fake it so they don't get depressed. 50% of the yea you have to remind yourself about family and friends to tell yourself why you stay here...
i personally enjoy the fact that Ohio gets 4 REAL seasons. snow in winter, rainy spring, sunny summer, and overcast/windy fall.

as long as I still have indoor plumbing, a dry house, a constant electricity supply and a source of heat, I'm more than content to spend my winters in Ohio.

I spend winter dreaming of spring. But I find myself in the warmer months from time to time pining for the nostalgia of shacking up in a warm home in the winter. I used to love the winter and snow and all that whenever it came around...but since I've had to start doing things such as "walking to class across OSU's giant campus" and driving to work nowadays...I curse every snowfall we get.
In Fairbanks, it's warmed up to -35 from -44 this morning.
Born and raised in Columbus, OH and I still havent gotten used to the winter! I deal with it but the only thing positive I get out of winter is everyday that passes it gets a little closer to spring!! Hate the SNOW and always will...
Texas doesn't get much snow... in 6 years living there I only saw snow once and it was little flurries in what seemed like 60* weather.

No insight, but it's not smart at all to not at least have a water on a flight. Bad for the circulation - blood clots could form...you need hydration after sitting in that pressurized air. Can anyone confirm the thread count of their sheets tonight? Number of pillows and fluffiness level of said pillows? Goose down? I hope they used the aggregate sliding scale to determine the comfort level of the box springs and mattress, and weren't all willy-nilly and neglected this. James Clark finally got into Columbus. His flight leaving Daytona Beach @ 1:45pm was delayed a hour so he missed his connection in Charlotte. Then the next flight out @ 6 was Cancelled cause of the nasty weather in Charlotte. The 3rd flight was then delayed 3 hours waiting for the plane to come in agian due the the rain/snow mix coming down in Charlotte. He finally arrived in CBUS @ 11:58PM. That's a very long day of travelling!!! He arrived at the Blackwell a lil before 1am and still seems to be in good spirits. That is all

Had a very simar experience trying to get to an 0V at Cornell years ago. When I finally got there they said that they usually tell recruits "see, it isn't that hard to get here" when they arrive. Wasn't the case for me. BTW, I didn't end up going there. Not a prediction, just sayin'.
Eh Cbus is one of the easiest big programs to get to since it's actually in a large city. USC would also be pretty easy but you've got serious traffic to deal with.
If I'm hosting these recruits this weekend, first off I'm taking them to Ray Ray's Hog Pit, a friggin trailer in a parking lot that happens to be the best BBQ in Ohio. Its just north of campus on High st. I would feed them each a full slab of ribs smothered in a mixture of the sweet mild sauce and carolina vinegar sauce. I don't care if these cats are from Florida, Texas, whatever. Once they try RayRay's they will commit on the spot!

They have every helmet worn by tOSU over the last 5+ years along with all the shoes and jerseys for recruits to see up close. Gives recruits a nice visual to look at and put on but not take home obviously.

Christian Bryant and Rod Smith wore #2 last year and both of the guys are coming back. I don't see any freshman getting that # next year. I think a favorite number might be pretty low on the checklist for recruits.

If a number is enough of a reason to make a recruit go elsewhere, I don't want him anyway. If something like that is enough to piss off or upset a player, what else will make him mad as he goes through is career.

Can someone please explain the interest in stalking these kids' weekend visits? I just don't get it. I'm not a fan of the recruiting obsession in football as it is, but why go as far to track their every event/tweet/move on their official visit. Can we not at least wait until after the visit is over to wait for word on how it went? I'm not accusing anybody of not having lives, that's the mind boggling thing, that most of you probably have lives.

I agree with Jake....you'll find out as much as you need to after their visits. Not to mention...most of these last minute visits will end up in NSD decisions anyway (or close to it). I've heard that Dontre Wilson's Dad said it "could" be a decision as early as the end of this weekend. We'll see I suppose...but I'm with you...it's not really worth a thread full of tweets. To each their own...I like recruiting...but not that much to know exactly what they're doing on their visits.

Weekend Vonn Bell was here was a sorority recruitment weekend, so the "sorority parties" that his brother was looking for (and, by extension, fraternity parties, why have a party if your sorority friends won't be making it?) were pretty nonexistant. Part Street at 9:45 is still pretty early in the evening, and it is damn cold out in Columbus tonight. They really can't bring the recuits to bars around OSU since the vast majority of them (or all of them?) are 21 and over, if I remember correctly. A few bars in Arena district are 18 and over. Ehh.
Not on Park St... they would have had a MUCH easier time getting him into a bar on campus. The Downtown bars have much stricter bouncers, while the bouncers on campus are students and would let the players right in. I remember seeing players at Little Bar all the damn time who were very much underage (Pryor his freshman year)

these kids just need to go to house parties the bars won't be too kind to you if your under 21
I watched what I think are the latest film for each of these guys and, while Wilson's was pretty good, but not great, IMO, Clark's was really amazing. Clark seems explosive in a way that few football players I've seen are.
Those of you who like Wilson better, pls link what you watched and let me know what are you seeing that makes you feel that way?

I also thought Clark looked better. Wilson, however, looked pretty athletic above all other physicalities.
They probably wouldn't serve him a drink, so that is good. I guess they told him what he needed to hear, not what he wanted to hear, lol.

Wilson is a slot type of player, similar to Marshall... both will get handoffs from time to time, most coming on read option/reverse type of plays...EzE will be in the backfield with he QB, as a RB...there is a slight, but important difference in the way a slot player and the way a RB is used in this offense... if Eze or others are bothered but Wilson getting an offer, they need to realize that Wilson wont be considered a RB, Eze will...the idea is to get playmakers the ball in this offense, Eze more on handoffs, Wilson/Marshall shot to medium range passes and get them into space
I love OSU but these are kids. It is ridiculous that some were tweeting EZE's mom! I am interested in how their visits go, but it is creepish to harass these kids.
