Collin Bailey is an off the radar recruit who loves Ohio State and has set out to fellow in William Houston's example of being a part of Buckeye Nation through dedication and hard work. He is small, but through hardwork I'm positive he will show the scouts of their why he deserves a shot.
Check out his highlights and spead the word to show this kid some love for hard work in trying to earn a offer from OSU. As stated by GeneStarwind ... " Give Collin Bailey a follow BuckNuts, I'm gonna make it my mission to help get him in the Scarlet & Grey. #Dedication"

He looks faster than 4.51 to me. He also knows exactly when to cut across the field almost like he's got eyes in the back of his head..............looks good to me............................Show this young man some love!!!!!!!!!
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
You should send this too mark pantoni on twitter have him give this kid a look he looks pretty good to me.
edit: I did I sent it to Pantoni and Coach Herman.
When someone shows you who they are believe them! In other words piss a good friend off and see what they really think about you.
Is this the Timmons of 2014? Is Danify going to be the new WAYCRACKEN? This could be a great tradition on 11W...
He does look fast. I was actually surprised by how well he uses his blocks. If he keeps getting better, I'd love to have him!
Not to rain on the parade - and I'm not a big recruiting guru - but I do live in Texas and love high school football here. And we have monster stadiums here (google up the Allen ISD's new stadium - an amazing $70 million tax payers voted for it double decker stadium) and we have great great high school football.
That said, the El Paso region is the state's weakest. Really weak. A team from far west Texas hasn't won a state title in a long long time. Those El Paso teams are first round fodder in the playoffs and just get torched. My kids' high school actually played an El Paso team one year where the coach agreed to play us at Texas Stadium if we'd pay their expenses to come. He knew they weren't going to win and was trying to get a trip to the Big City for his boys (good for him). We bought them plane tickets and then absolutely crushed them.
So that kid is playing against and running well against teams that just aren't that great. And he is smallish.
Not sure our coaching staff will be as impressed as we are. But if he wants to be a Buckeye - that's great! And I hope he gets a look!
Sounds a lot like Ryan Timmons...
Plus Chapin won their first playoff game last season, and narrowly lost to Amarillo. Yeah, I see the compitition factor coming into play here. Which is probably why he may get a walk-on spot at best, unless he impresses at camps. I'm encouraging him to go to FNL this year and see what he can do against better talent.
Great misdirection and speed. Competition looks suspect. His heart alone, regardless of competition looks great.
First thing that came to mind " mighty mouse", and I dont mean that slanderous. Explosive small package
I agree with buckeyemark.. He doesn't seem to be playing against some big time players or teams like I'm used to seeing in other high light films..
he looks like a junior high kid on varsity lol....everyone is like 5 times his size
Having actually gone to high school in El Paso...Chapin is division 4A, which is the about the equaivalent of Ohio Div II in terms of enrollment and Div III or IV in terms of quality of competition.
El Paso teams compete for state championships in baseball, tennis, and golf, but it's true that football is not El Paso's strong suit.
That said, many individual standout players do get recruited by major D1 college programs (usually ending up at Texas, Arizona, ASU, Texas Tech, and New Mexico) and some end up in the NFL (Ike Skelton and his bro, for instance).
I've been rooting for Collin to get some love from OSU, and I know he is kind of in with the whole Georgia crew we're recruiting for 2014, but I'm not sure he has the right height, weight, etc. He has an amazing work ethic (a la Mike Mitchell and John Simon) and a huge heart. We'll see what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed...
Rooting for him to success as he's shown his dedication and hard work of wanting to be a Buckeye. I can't wait to see what happens with him over the next year.
I'm rooting for him too, Danify. From what I remember when I was looking at his stats a week or so ago, however, he needs to improve his 40 time to have a chance in UFM's offense. Unless there is someplace for him to switch to defense, but then size becomes even more of an issue.
He told me he's been in contact with Coach Hinton and will speak to him today about going to the next Junior Day.
No way that kid is 5'8"
Either some of the video was of him when he was on the JV squad or even middle school or it is compressed weirdly. He looks like he is shorter or taller depending on what part of the video you're looking at. Also, different sites have a range of 40 times for him. That's confusing.
My dad used to teach at Chapin and I remember many of the kids were children of military members (Chapin is right next to Ft. Bliss/Biggs Army Airfield). It seems like that might be the case for Collin. I wonder if he used to live in Ohio. In any event, if he is the kid of a member of the military it just makes me root for him all the more.
We got Mr. Bailey a 247 profile here today, whoohoo, baby steps
Good lookin' out for this kid, Gene. You might suggest to him to get an 11W account and use his user blog to post updates about his recruitment and even his workout regimen (since he gets up at 4:30am many mornings). The community will get invested in this kid if they have some visibility into his life as it relates to football.
I agree, that would be a pretty good idea ATXBUCKNUT.
I really like this kid. We talk on Twitter, and just seems like an awesome guy.
(I'm 16, not a really old dude)
And to update you guys, he runs a consistent 4.5 40 right now, and working to improve that.
He was named The RB MVP and Combine King, he posted a 4.28 shuttle, 4.62 40, 8-4 broad and a 32.5 vertical. This was back in April 2012.
i'd give him a preferred walk on
As of right now, that would be the case. Always room for improvement, and still a whole year left for him to turn some heads, so we'll see what happens. He said he will visit for the Spring Game and for FNL in the summer.
I agree that in most cases size has been a determining factor but not so much nowadays. He does have a year left which is really great news because it will allow him to peak. I looked at his NCSA profile and pulled up some articles up on him. This one turned my head just a bit. He was selected as one of the top 24 Football Players across the world that was selected. Look who was the panel, I knew Sam Wyche while he lived here in Ohio and hes a toughy! Also was part of the All American Games Selectee as well. I believe he was the only sophmore to make the list.
Entries will be judged by the following panel:
■Wes Chandler – San Diego Chargers Hall of Famer, All-Pro Receiver and Veteran NFL Coach
■David Diaz-Infante – 16-year NFL Veteran, Super Bowl Champion and ESPN Analyst
■Sam Wyche – Offensive Football Innovator Who Led the Cincinnati Bengals to a Super Bowl and Coached Under the Legendary Bill Walsh.
