Anybody see the recent news about Tom Brady and how his charitable foundation receives almost all of its funding from another charity?

In short, Brady does a day or so of volunteer work every year for Maria Shriver's Best Buddies Foundation. It's a well-known outfit that does a lot of good for people with mental disabilities. They've raised a lot of money. Less well known is that Best Buddies compensates ("pays") him in the form of donations to Brady's own foundation - more than $2M. Brady in turn donates that money to other not-for-profits of his choosing including TTUN (please no jokes about mental disabilities).
Paying Tom Brady may not be what people who donate to Best Buddies had in mind. Moreover, the Best Buddies contributions make up almost everything that has ever been given to Brady's foundation.
On one hand he's probably helped Best Buddies raise more money than they otherwise could have done without him. On the other, should he be "paid" for this work? And given that he and Gisele are worth a reported half-billion dollars between them, can't he donate to TTUN and other groups with his own money?
BTW - nothing illegal here, just optically strange and a potential PR embarrassment.
Thoughts?
