Baltimore was thought to be the bottom dwellers of the AL East this season but with the 3 headed monster of Machado, Davis & Trumbo they have the best record in the AL. Boston is what we thought they were: the best offense in baseball and no pitching. Toronto, like Boston, is another team with great hitting & no pitching. The Yankees well they're old but are getting a CY Young year out of CC Sabathia. Tampa with out Joe Maddon has lost some of the swag he brought to the team.
Cleveland has one of the best rotations in all of baseball and has willed the team into 1st. Could they bring another championship to Cleveland? Kansas City is hanging in there and looking to defend their title. Detroit is another offensive juggernaut with no pitching. Chicago started the year on fire but has fallen back to reality. Minnesota surprised most last year but are the worst team in baseball.
Texas got back Yu Darvish and have a punchers chance vs anyone. Seattle is getting a MVP type season from Cano and are looking to end their post season drought. Houston, the darlings of 2015 haven't taken the league by storm like we thought but are still very talented. Los Angeles has bad contracts and looks like Trouts talents are being wasted. Sonny Gray and Danny Valencia, who went to my high school, look to be trade bait for Oakland.
Washington is led by Stephen Strasburg who is having a career year and one of the favorites for the CY Young. My Marlins have weathered the storm of Giancarlo's slump and Dee Gordon's suspension and look poised for their first playoff birth in 13 years. The Mets pitching will keep them in all year but may need another MVP second half from Cespedes. Philadelphia started the year hot but have really cooled off. Atlanta well they are who we thought they were.
Chicago is damn good and 108 years later the curse may end. St Louis is the best organization in baseball and can never count them out. Pittsburgh has struggled to date but have as much talent as anyone. Milwaukee should look to trade Lucroy and Braun to replenish the farm system. Cincinnati is bad should also trade their stars in return for prospects.
San Francisco knows it's an even year and are trying to win their 4th title since 2010. The Dodgers have the best pitcher I've ever seen in Clayton Kershaw and look to continue their post season streak. Colorado has one of the players in baseball in Nolan Arenado but in that altitude no pitching could save them. Arizona won the offseason but forgot you don't win championships in December. San Diego supposedly had of the bright young GMs in baseball but the moves he has made of dried the farm system up. The city of San Diego now has the longest championship drought after the Cavs won it for Cleveland.
