Former Yankee great (maybe?), Goose Gossage has been sticking his foot in his mouth quite a bit lately. Last week, he took shots at Jose Bautista for his glistening bat flip in last year's playoffs, Yeonis Cespedes for his bat flips, aND "the nerds" (read: advanced metrics statisticians) taking over baseball. He accuses both parties of ruining the game.

This week, after getting his wrist slapped by Yankees' leadership for last week's comments, he's still complaining about guys having fun while *playing a game* and says "Do we want a bunch of Cam Newtons running around?"

Maybe it's just me, but this stodgy old moron really should be taken behind the barn. There's a reason that baseball is firmly planted as the third most popular sport in America and declining, and I have to believe it's because of this mentality of no one is allowed to have fun and a simple bat flip is "showing up the pitcher."

What say you?
