Eddie was one of the kindest and humble people I have ever known. I had the pleasure of knowing Eddie in my early twenties, and even though he was twenty years older than me, he would absolutely school me on the basketball court. The man was a physical specimen.
He beat Barry Bonds out for his job at San Francisco, but unfortunately the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction ruined what would have been a great career in baseball.
I will never forget how we helped each other through some very dark times in our life.
See you on the other side my friend.
