I can only imagine Gilbert and Brown's conversation went something like this...

Before the Pacers fire Vogel (sp?).

Why would they? They're a game away from being back in the ECF.

In a funny copyediting error, ESPN blamed the Browns for the firing. Perhaps they weren't impressed with their Draft performance, either:

My friend got this update as well... Pretty funny.

The first man gets the ((((Oyster)))), the second man gets the shell.

Maybe it was Brown who put Johnny's name on the draft card.

Maybe they should add onto this video that we fire all head coaches after 1 season.

Edit: But they're still not Detroit...at least.

excellent mad men episode

I could probably find an applicable Mad Men scene/gif/clip for most happenings in the world, but this one fits extremely well. Also, Sterling is the man.

Obviously they are following the Browns blueprint for success...fire your head coach after one season, after botching multiple drafts.

Now lebron will never come back...

I have to assume the timing indicates they have someone in mind.

osu07asu10's picture

Eh, I mean the "season" isn't really even over yet with playoffs still going on.  A lot of people have been tossing Mark Jackson's name around as he is a players coach.

I think they made the move because Kyrie and him don't get along and they are trying to get him to sign the extension

Like the Browns had someone in mind when they fired Chud?

As a person who knows Jack Shit about basketball, at first I was like, the Bengals Mike Brown was fired from the Cavs? Why the Hell can't he also be fired from owning the Bengals?

+1 HS

Can you get him on tape asking his mistress not to bring black men to the games?

+3 HS
tennbuckeye19's picture

Why am I not surprised by this?

It was stupid to rehire the guy in the first place and now firing him after one year makes Dan Gilbert and Co. look twice as dumb.

The new slogan for Cleveland sports should be: #Competence #Excellence #Stability #OrNot

Paging Mark Jackson or Tom Izzo (won't happen) or Billy Donovan (won't happen) or John Calipari...

There is a pipe dream of a Calipari & LeBron combo! Up until it doesn't happen doesn't hurt to dream :)

A too familiar thread I can't stand. Makes it challenging cheering for them night in and night out.

Terry Francona wonders what he's doing wrong.  He's working at least 2 years to collect his whole contract.

They still owe him 16 million. Mike Brown wins.

And as an added bonus, he doesn't have to try to get Kyrie & Co. to play D anymore.

First time shame on you.  Second time shame on me....

I believe the SEC players put their pants on one leg at a time like we do.

Fire me once, shame on you.  Fire me twice, thanks for the $20 mil, sucka.

Gilbert should have Brown's checks printed in Comic Sans.

I thought James fired brown the first time.

Hire Mark Jackson. The Warriors were stupid to let him go. He can turn this team around. He got the Warriors to play defense so maybe he can do it in Cleveland as well.

Buckeyevstheworld's picture

The Warriors also had a better frontcourt.

OSU069's picture

Well I didn't say we were going to be as good as them right from the start.. But I think Thompson and Hawes could be a pretty good 4 and 5 tandem with good coaching. We need to upgrade the 3 though.

hit_the_couch's picture

Pretty sure they only fired him the first time because it might have helped their chances at retaining Lebron. I think they should have given him more than 1 season on his return trip. Maybe Lebron is up for free agency and they think he may come back north.

And then I told her...i'm no weatherman, but tonight's forecast is calling for several inches!
