OSU is the 3 seed in the NCAA tourney and will play Towson in the Shoe this Sunday at 3p. GO BUCKS!!!
For anyone who cares to see the fielded teams the bracket can be found here.
In addition to the brackets, other forum topics on OSU lacrosse ECAC championship can be found in the Buckshots and here.
Going off tangent here, I'm eager to see if Northwestern can continue their dominance in W.Lax. They've made eight consecutive title appearances and won seven of the last eight national titles.
Insert witty remark
Whew! My first thought was that something happened at Los Angeles airport.
Sorta pissed by the brackets... love that we got so much respect, but Denver as the 4 seed got a somewhat better draw. While UNC is very underseeded at #5, we will have to play a #6 seed Maryland at College Park. This is because ND is ther #2, so they get to go to Indy instead of us. It's gonna be tough getting to Philly for the Final Four. While we should be able to handle Towson, Cornell is a tough squad (Trivia: last time we were in the NCAA tournament we lost an opening round match to Cornell) and playing Maryland at home will NOT be easy. I like our possible match in the National Semifinal against either Duke/Loyola/Notre Dame. UNC and Syracuse are the two teams that really scare me and they are on the other side of the bracket.
Cause I couldn't go for three
Cornell and MD are both solid squads with great coaches. I agree that we didn't get the best draw but I feel like the tourney is more wide open than ever for the taking. We can definitely hang with anyone this year.
Will it be televised. My 9 yo is playing his first season of lacrosse and would like to watch. Any suggestions?
"Say my name."
ESPNU and ESPN3 for most of the early rounds... the Final Four should be on ESPN2
Thanks Rampage, I'll have to DVR it for the boy.
Where is the game being held and does anyone have any clue how much it would cost to get in? I couldn't find any details about the game.
You can go to the Ticketmaster link in this article... in the 'Shoe at 3pm Sunday.
By the way, the coach is coming up on 97.1 at 2:15.
Can the OP change the title of this thread to OSU LAX or something? Every time I see the title I think something happened at LAX. Not good when living in LA. Just a thought.
Reminder, the guys play @ 3 pm ET. If you've got nothing to do watch our guys play Townson today and root for the men in scarlet and gray. Go Bucks!
Edit: Game can be found on ESPN 3/ watch ESPN app.
5-3 good guys early in the second.
Cornell topped Maryland 16-8.

Thanks for the update!
9-4, good guys....early third.
15-6, five minutes left. Go Buckeyes!
Bucks looking really solid today. Feeding the crease well
Woohoo! Great game! See ya at UMd against Cornell!
Onto College Park next Saturday against Cornell.
Good luck guys!
They are just dominating this 2nd half!
I didn't get to watch cause I was at work, but I DVR'd it and just rewatched the tape... a few things:
- We started kinda sluggish. Slow slides by the d-men.
- As the game wore on we DOMINATED the faceoff circle. In college lacrosse, you win the faceoff circle and ground balls, you win the game. It's a simple flow chart
Win Faceoff -> Fast Break -> Goal -> Repeat
- Love seeing the goals spread around. 3 Buckeyes had hat tricks and the foot never was taken off the gas pedal.
- Cornell ABUSED Maryland on their home turf to the tune of 16-8. The Big Red will be a giant test. Currently, the Buckeyes are playing their best lacrosse I've ever seen from this program, and it will take that kind of performance to advance to Philly.
Any DC area Buckeyes should head over to College Park Saturday at 12:30 and fill the stands with Scarlet and Gray... should be a great match.

It was a pretty solid atmosphere in the Shoe today. Players certainly loved it. It has been Ohio State's m.o. to start off games a little sluggish, but they can't let Cornell (mainly Rob Pannell) get off to a hot start. Expecting lots of zone from the D.
Either zones, or a quick trigger on slides. Towson sat in a zone and we picked it apart today. Maryland has a damn good defense and Cornell made it look pretty pedestrian. I would spend the week focusing on one of each and be ready to switch when needed. When I was playing we had two slide packages (a slow slide and a quick slide) an iso shutdown (basically shut out one player, a box and one per se) and a zone that I (as the keeper) could call out to switch to as I fel necessary.
