Our #20 Women Volleyball Buckeyes just went on the road and beat #4 Nebraska 3-1... this is a HUGE win for our team. It is SUPER rare to beat Nebraska at home, and the Huskers were a team that is considered a strong contender for a national title.
If you've never been to a vball match, but have always kinda wanted to, this is the year to do it. This team is senior-heavy and should jump into the top 15 with a win over Iowa Sunday. Coach Carlston has turned the program around and it could be a BIG year for OSU volleyball.

Nebraska was ranked #4. I was very surprised to see us pull off the upset. I went to our home match vs. Purdue (who was ranked #15 or so at the time) and came away disappointed. The ladies did not play well in a 3-1 defeat. Same story with the home match against Penn St, which was televised on Big Ten Network. Glad to see they have righted the ship. Fantastic win in a very tough environment.
I have been a die-hard volleyball fan since my freshman year in 2007, and this is the best I've ever seen them play.
The issue this year had been putting it all together. That Purdue game our starting setter had a concusion, and against Penn St, we were competitive in every set but made key errors later in sets that caused us to fall apart.
This match was different. From the opening serve, we played beautiful volleyball. The setter spread the ball around, using all her different hitters, using the quick set when the Nebraska defense was off balanced. The defense came up with CLUTCH digs late in sets and in big momentum marathon points. And on top of that the block was DOMINANT. It was quite a sight to see.
Cause I couldn't go for three
Great to hear about the block. That was the biggest flaw I noticed during the Purdue game (I am definitely not a volleyball expert though). It was like they weren't even there, the Boilermakers had their way with them.
HELL YES Ohio state Wins. Number 4 Huskers go down at home. I watched them play UCLA at home go down 0-2 and come back to win. This is a good win for the Buckeyes. I might be one of the few fans that love Ohio state volleyball but I'm vary pround of our girls.
