Former Ohio State men’s swimmer George Markovic qualified for the Serbian Olympic team in the 400-meter freestyle with a “B” standard Olympic time of 3:52.58. Markovic also will be a part of the first-ever Serbian relay team, participating in the 4 x 100 freestyle relay.
Markovic was a All-American in 2010 and won a Big Ten championship in the 500 freestyle. He captained the 2010 Big Ten Championship team, helping the program claim the Big Ten crown.
Markovic represents the tenth Ohio State Olympian for the 2012 London Games.
