I've come to notice that the commentariat on this site is a compromised of quite a few soccer fans. I was just wondering who you guys/gals support and what you think of the season so far?

Good season so far, Man City would have run away with the title already if they could win on the road. I'm a Fulham supporter as they always have an American I can cheer for and I've seen them play live. But I do still support all the Americans in any game I watch, so I'm also frequently an Everton fan. I used to think I liked Man U. but that was before I learned much of anything about EPL and that they were basically the Red Sox, and now they are literally the Red Sox.

I became an Arsenal fan before I realized that was akin to liking the yankees, red sox or whatever. Still a fan though since I had already bought a jersey, jacket, flag, and scarf. Go Gunners!

I'm a Chelsea fan, which makes me a fan of the hybrid Redskins/Red Sox team. (Crazy owner and inferiority complex)
Good to know. Absolutely hate Man City, they're just attempting to pull off a Real Madrid and buy everyone. I'm a Gunners fan myself, been following Arsenal for a long time. Think that van Persie is probably the best forward out there, even better than Messi, who is wildly overrated and is a system player in my mind.
I am a huge Arsenal fan, in high school our soccer team went to England one summer and I got to tour te old highbury stadium before they built the emirates stadium. They are making a come back but 3rd is the best they will finish this year. They will be very strong next year with a few trasnfer market buys. Bucksfanfx, the guy that owns the red soxs owns liverpool not Man U, the Glazers own Man U. 3-4 top EPL teams are owned by Americans.
@Alex Root, that is awesome that you were able to tour Highbury. As for transfers I think they'll dump Arshavin and go after Podolski.
I was exposed to the EPL by a coworker whose Dad played for Fulham back in the 70's. He follows very closely and is a huge Man U fan. I basically paid attention to Man U because he sat next to me and spent just about every non-working minute on something Man U related. Kinda like me with the Buckeyes. So although I am not really a fan of any particular team I do pay some attention and mostly to Manchester United.

When I was about 5 or 6 my favorite aunt bought me a Newcastle United shirt from a garage sale. When I started following English soccer I chose to stick with them, which is just perfect for me because I'm also a Cubs fan and Newcastle hasn't won a premier title since 1927 and their best run of success was really from 1902-1910. (sound familiar?) Of course by the time I figured that out they had me. This season started off quite well for them, was starting to see the possibility of qualifying for the champions league, but they've done a drop off. I except they will finish near the middle of the pack, but since they were relegated just a couple years ago being in the middle is good.
Been a Man U fan for a long time. Really took me a while to get into soccer, but after watch a couple of the 98 and 02 World Cup games, I was hooked. Man U was just the club team I always gravitated toward. Always cheer for Yanks in the league, but Man U is my team. Just wish they had a better midfield presence. Need to upgrade badly. But still a remarkably good season so far, all things considered. Except for the continental tournaments.
RVP is good, and because of that he probably won't stay at Arsenal long. My guess is Real Madrid will scoop him up by fall. You think Messi is overrated? Wow. I don't think he gets nearly enough credit for all he does and can do.

I been a Fulham fan since the Brian McBride transfer. Clint Dempsey is having a great year and I hope he can get to 20 goals in league play this season.
It's good to be home.
Everton fan here, mainly because I'm a huge Tim Howard fan. They haven't had all too great of a season, but hey, at least they're not in the drop zone right now.
I think Arsenal will do whatever they must to keep RVP, plus the guy has already stated that he doesn't want his family to leave London. Messi to me is the soccer version of a Texas Tech quarterback, he's the product of an excellent system (Barcelona's) because his performances for the national team (Argentina) have been extremely lackluster, because he cannot adapt and play in other systems. RVP can, considering he plays in two different systems for Arsenal and the Dutch team.

As both a Newcastle fan and a Browns fan, I must enjoy suffering.
My Magpies are doing better than expected but it doesn't quite feel that way because they started off red hot. They teased me with thoughts of making Europe this year.
I love that so many people here in the States have come to love EPL and international soccer in general.

I agree Bucksfanxc, soccer is becoming much bigger in the states. The MLS is still weak but it is getting much much better. But the MLS will probably always be a feeder to the EPL,la liga, and serie a. Also I think RVP will be staying at Arsenal they are going to pay him becuase he is worth it. They will have a lot more money to spend when they get their stadium paid off which is pretty soon I think. I mean they made 50 mill this quarter alone.
Millwall!

@Alex Root, once Arsenal has paid off Ashburton Grove (will never refer to that thing as the emirates), they will have some serious spending power. As of now they are the most profitable club in England, Ashburton Grove pulls in more money gameday than any other team in the EPL. This summer they could become serious buyers if they go after guys like Podolski. Vertonghen, Gourcuff, Gotze, or possibly Hazard. Next year with Wiltshere, Ramsey, Song, Rosicky and Arteta in the midfield, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, RVP, and a possible combination of Gervinho/Podolski they'll have the best offense in the EPL by leaps and bounds. The defense is alright with Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen, and Sagna, although picking up a guy like Vertonghen would really solidify the back as a whole. Szczesny has shown incredible promise in goal and is a budding star. The team next year will hopefully bring back some silverware.
