I scrolled back through Rivals top 150 over the past decade or so to see how Matta and crew have faired and who they let get out of the state. The missed prospects are just Ohio players that committed elsewhere.

Missed-21. Carlton Bragg 25. Luke Kennard

2014-18. D'angelo Russell 24. Jaquan Lyle (they still had him classified as 2014) 26. Keita Bates-Diop 79. Jae'Sean Tate
No misses in the top 150.

No misses

A lot of fans on 11w have said the coaches need to concentrate the efforts to keeping talent home and they've done that fairly well over the this time period with a few exceptions. I'd have loved to see a team with Sullinger, Thomas, and Payne in it's front court, along with Craft, Smith and Burke. That would've almost been a guaranteed national championship or 2. You can also see a direct correlation between the calibur of recruits they're bringing in and their success on the court. When they're not getting top 20 recruits the team has down years. That player development issues that need resolved fast but big misses of in state talent like Bragg and Kennard, that are key contributers on top teams, have cost the team a few wins the last couple years too. That's of course not including out of state misses that could've had huge impacts on the last few seasons too.
