Winter workouts prove Ohio State still has plenty of strength and speed

As we delve ever deeper into the off-season, it's fun to look ahead to the coming season and discuss both the returning players and the newest members of tOSU football squad. Two things that you definitely need to win in D-1 college football, regardless of the year on the calendar are strength and speed.

No contest is necessary to figure out the strongest player on Ohio State’s roster during offseason conditioning.

“The strongest in the weight room? It’s not even close -- Billy Price,” Marotti said. “You can ask any player, he’s a whole other level, strength-wise.”

Marotti didn’t say exactly how much iron Price has been throwing around, but he didn’t hesitate to point to him as the player setting the tone in the weight room as he prepares for a crucial junior season as one of the team’s few returning starters.

Now speed, that is a different creature all together!

With the additions of Dontre Wilson, James Clark and Robert Landers to the track and field team, one might think they have the inside track to the crown of fastest player. James Clark has made the finals of these 60-meter indoors [races] the last couple times so he may even have a leg up on his two track and field partners but Marotti has a better idea to crown a winner.

Trying to crown the fastest guy on a team loaded with speed? That title is yet to be determined, and strength coach Mickey Marotti isn’t opposed to staging another race to settle the matter when winter workouts come to a close ahead of spring practice.

“I don’t know, let’s line them all up and race them at some point,” Marotti said Wednesday. “We haven’t done that, but we will. There are a lot of fast guys. We’ve got a lot of guys who can run.

Anyone who attended last year's Spring Game knows that there was plenty of speed to go around, as Zeke barely edged Braxton for the top spot but as both have moved on to the NFL, it's time for a new fastest Buckeye.

Here's your link and here's your question:

Who do you have pegged as the fastest Buckeye for 2016?
