SHAUN WADE AND TRINITY CHRISTIAN (JACKSONVILLE) CONTINUE WINNING WAYS

2017 Ohio State commit Shaun Wade (DB) helped his defense hold Ribault (Jacksonville) to 14 total yards of total offense and six points. Wade and Trinity Christian's defense were able to keep Ribault's rushing attack to negative seven yards and only allowed 21 yards passing on four completions.

Go here to see Wade laying the wood for WTLV's Friday hit of the night.

LIGHTNING IN THE SKY AND ON THE FIELD

The game between George Hill's Hubbard (OH) team and Girard (OH) was delayed in the second quarter due to lightning. Those in the stands would have understood if the refs mistook the explosive play of Hill (ATH) with the nighttime sky fireworks.

Per John Bassetti of vindy.com:

George Hill scored four times and Brandon Rios three as the senior running backs led Hubbard over the Girard, 55-7, at Arrowhead Stadium Friday night.

George Hill rushed 13 times for 131 yards while Rios had 102 yards on five attempts, including a 41-yard touchdown run that was scored simultaneously with the first of several lightning strikes that delayed the game one hour and 20 minutes.

One of Hill’s four TDs was an 81-yard kickoff return in the third quarter for Hubbard (2-0), which out-gained Girard (0-2) on the ground, 401-139.

KAREEM WALKER LEARNS VALUABLE LESSON

Kareem Walker scored four times and rushed for 131 yards, but that is not what he will remember from Saturday's win. The Buckeyes' prized running back commit learned to stay positive even if mistakes are made.

Walker's lesson learned per Chris Ryan of highschoolsports.nj.com:

Following a touchdown on the opening drive, DePaul fumbled twice in the red zone. One came out of the hands of Kareem Walker, while the other fell to the ground on a handoff transition between Walker and quarterback Shelton Applewhite. Applewhite also threw an interception near the 20-yard line at the end of the first half.

But eventually those trips into the red zone did yield points, as DePaul pulled away in the third quarter.

"We had mistakes in the red zone, and our coach just told us to come out focused the next drive," said Walker, who finished with four total touchdowns. "Don't get down on yourself because we still have three quarters. Just play football and just stay positive."

[...]

"The handoffs, everything, has got to be good," Walker said. "We can't leave 28 points on the field."
