This series will highlight the commitment anniversary date of Ohio State players. I have commitment dates from 2003-2015.
Note: I don't have all of the commitment dates for all of the players from those years, but I have the majority.
ON AUGUST 16, 2013 CURTIS SAMUEL (ATH) COMMITTED TO OHIO STATE
Curtis Samuel had a .970 comp. rating and was the 8th ranked ATH in 2014.
Excerpts from Jeremy Birmingham's article the day Samuel committed:
Lots of players talk about the famed "Percy Harvin role" in the Ohio State offense. Perhaps none fit that role better than Ohio State's newest commitment, New York star Curtis Samuel. Samuel committed to the Buckeyes today on the heels of a return visit to Columbus by his head coach at Erasmus Hall, Danny Landberg.

At 6-foot and 185 solid pounds, Samuel brings blazing 4.36-40 yard dash speed to an Ohio State offense along with a knack for putting the ball in the endzone. Samuel's talents have earned him offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Southern Cal, Rutgers, Miami and more; but he chose the Buckeyes because of his relationship with Urban Meyer and his confidence in the Buckeyes' plans for him, plans that include being used in that fabled "Harvin" style.

In 2014, Samuel made an immediate impact as a freshman. Samuel's role and impact should continue to rise in 2015.
ON AUGUST 16, 2014 KOSTA KARAGEORGE (DT) WALKED-ON AT OHIO STATE
Kosta Karageorge was not ranked as a DT in 2011.
Last year on this date Kosta Karageorge became a member of the 2014 team as a walk-on. He was a fifth-year senior and previously wrestled for the Buckeyes. Karageorge went missing on 11-26-14. Unfortunately, Kosta Karageorge took his own life and he was found on 11-30-14. In the short time he was with the football team he made an impact on his teammates as you can see by the twitter posts shared in this Patrick Maks article.
After Karageorge's suicide the 2014 Ohio State football team honored him by wearing No. 53 stickers for the B1G Championship, Sugar Bowl and National Championship Game victories. Michael Bennett (No. 63) wore Karageorge's No. 53 jersey in those games.
