How did the Super Bowl starters get to this point of their career? Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll are 2 of the best talent evaluators in the National Football League. Here is the full list of starters and their star ranking coming out of high school (according to Rivals).

Seahawks

2 stars: Russell Wilson, Doug Baldwin, J.R. Sweezy, Justin Britt, Luke Willson, Jordan Hill, Bobby Wagner,

3 stars: Richard Sherman, Russell Okung, Max Unger, Jermaine Kearse, Will Tukuafo, Michael Bennett (listed as NR, but giving him 3 stars since he had a few decent offers), Tony McDaniel, Cliff Avril, KJ Wright, Kam Chancellor

4 stars: James Carpenter, Marshawn Lynch, Bruce Irvin, Byron Maxwell, Earl Thomas

5 stars: None

Average Star Rating: 2.9

B1G 3

SEC 4

ACC 3

Big 12 3

Pac12 6

Other 2

Patriots

2 stars: Julian Edelman, Ryan Wendell, Chandler Jones, Patrick Chung, Devin McCourty

3 stars: Brandon Lafell, Nate Solder, Bryan Stork, Tim Wright, Rob Ninkovich, Jamie Collins, Derrelle Revis, Brandon Browner

4 stars: Rob Gronkowski, Shane Vereen, Akeem Ayers, Donta Hightower

5 stars: None

No Rivals Profile: Dan Connolly (Went to an FCS school), Sebastian Vollmer (From Germany), Tom Brady (Rivals didn't exist when he was in High School), Vince Wilfork (See Brady), Chris Jones (He ended up at Bowling Green, so I imagine he wasn't involved in the camp circuits), Kyle Arrington (Went to Hofstra).

***With there being so many players with no Rivals profile it makes it difficult to truly gauge what the real average would be. Tom Brady and Vince Wilfork would have undoubtably been ranked either 3 or 4 stars. The others on the list weren't ranked at all and ended up at D1AA schools. With that being said:

Average star ranking: 2.9

B1G 4

SEC 2

ACC 3

Big 12 Zero

Pac 12 6

Other 7
