California quarterback Travis Waller is starting to generate interest from Ohio State. Do the Buckeyes have a legit shot at landing the 6'3 athlete? Also Keyshawn Johnson Jr. is in Columbus today for a visit.
Kicking things off today, reports are that Ohio State is starting to show more interest in California quarterback Travis Waller. Waller, who plays his high school ball at Servite High School, has good size at 6'3 and weighs 190 pounds. He has no shortage of offers, either as Arizona, Washington, and Ole Miss are in full pursuit of the electrifying athlete. Though he doesn't hold an Ohio State offer just yet, things could change in a hurry if the plans with Brandon Wimbush or Lorenzo Nunez falls through. Nonetheless, Waller is an intriguing prospect and one to keep an eye on as we enter and push through the summer months. At the moment, 247Sports Crystal Ball has him as a 57% lock to the University of Oregon.
HOUSTON, Texas -- After earning an invite to The Opening due to a strong testing performance at the Houston SPARQ Combine several weeks ago, Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Marshall cornerback Kendall Sheffield made his way out to the Houston Nike Football Camp on Sunday at the Kinkaid School, but did not participate.
The 5'11, 180-pounder who is a consensus five-star prospect, the top player in the state of Texas, and the No. 9 player nationally in the 247Sports Composite rankings spoke with SB Nation Recruiting coming off his visit to LSU for the spring game held by the Tigers on Saturday.
"I would say watching the defensive backs," Sheffield said when asked about his favorite part of the trip. "Especially No. 21, Rashard Robinson -- big, tall, physical, and he had good technique. That's what I liked."
