Class of 2015 Safety Jay Stocker Wants to Hear from Ohio State (11W)

adad

Four-star prospect. Double digit offer list. Grew up a Buckeye fan. What's not to like? Several prospects that fit the description lack Ohio State offers.

C.J. Conrad, a tight end prospect from Keystone High School in Ohio, is one such prospect. Perhaps a new name for some recruitniks, Jay Stocker fits the description as well. In spite of an impressive resume, Stocker has no offer.

Stocker is a 6-foot-3, 195 pound safety considered to be one of the top prospects from Pennsylvania in 2015. 247Sports rates him as the 213th overall prospect in the entire nation, which makes him the ninth-rated safety. Other services rate him as a high three-star prospect.

Maryland's Robbins Enjoys Columbus (11W)

ada

Visiting Florida State, Alabama and Auburn in the same weekend would be tough to top, but that's exactly what Ohio State tried to do when they hosted David Robbins this weekend. Robbins is a 247Composite 3-star offensive guard from Glenelg, Maryland who is starting to garner serious attention from college football's big boys.

Follwing the aforementioned visits to Florida State, Alabama and Auburn last weekend, Robbins picked up an offer from the 'Noles. Needless to say, they are one of his top schools. "Right now Florida State, Maryland and Kentucky [are standing out]," Robbins told 11W.

While the Buckeyes have not yet offered, the visit was a productive one and Ohio State could be close to making the offer. Robbins called the visit "pretty good," highlighted by "getting to meet the coaches and just learn more about the program in general."

The Race Is On (11W)

adad

Welcome to Tuesday afternoon friends, it's time once again to talk Buckeye football recruiting. We're going to start off with a bit of hair-brushing, because I know the perceived "domination" happening from Happy Valley right now has some Buckeye fans spooked. Let's cut to the chase.

Yes, James Franklin is one heck of a recruiter. He's young, he's dynamic, he's at a place he grew up dreaming of being and he's selling many of the eastern seaboard's finest on being a part of the class that brings back Penn State from oblivion. The Nittany Lions landed two more players with Buckeye offers this past weekend, Indiana linebacker Josh Barajas and New Jersey lineman Steven Gonzalez, and because of that some people are beginning to get a bit stir crazy. Of the two, the bigger "loss" is Barajas, because: A.) He's actually visited Ohio State B.) I'm not convinced the Buckeyes' interest in Gonzalez was as serious as many let on, and I think a part of that is because social media (read: Twitter) was really cheering the young man on as he named Ohio State his leader over and over.

Now, here's the real "concept" I want you to take away from this: Ohio State is not recruiting against Penn State. Ohio State is recruiting against Alabama and Florida State. Penn State is making a lot of noise right now, but these things have a way of leveling off (See: Michigan, University of, 2012-2013.) I know I've said it before, but I feel at this point it's imperative to reiterate: trust Urban Meyer, and trust his staff. Follow the plan.

Deadline passes for Southfield's Malik McDowell to sign Michigan State letter-of-intent (Detroit News)

dada

Southfield – Monday was the last day high school seniors could sign a national letter-of-intent for football, and Southfield lineman Malik McDowell remains unsigned.

McDowell, a 6-foot-6, 295-pound defensive lineman, is the No. 3 player on The Detroit News Blue Chip list, but some recruiting services like Rivals.com and Scout.com have McDowell rated the state’s top player.

McDowell gave a verbal commitment to Michigan State on Feb. 5, National Signing Day, but his mother and custodial parent, Joya Crowe, refused to sign the letter-of-intent.

Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets, 4/1 - Bucks make cut for Justin Hilliard, Ricky DeBerry (LGHL)

dad

Ohio State made the lists of two top recruits in the class of 2015, while another high-profile recruits looks to make a decision about what sport he will play and where he will play that sport.

April Fools Day is upon us, but there aren't any jokes when it comes to Ohio State recruiting. Monday was a fairly eventful day for the coaching staff, starting off with '15 OLB Justin Hilliard taking to Twitter to announce his top 10 schools. The Buckeyes made the list, along with Notre Dame, Alabama, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Oklahoma, Florida State, USC, and Florida.

The 6'2, 230-pound outside linebacker hails from Cincinnati, Ohio. The 5-star is also ranked as the third-best outside linebacker in the country and the best overall prospect from the Buckeye state for the class of 2015. Hilliard recently visited Columbus on March 21st, while planning to visit Alabama on April 5th and Notre Dame on April 12th.

'I'm one of the top four tight ends they're targeting': Four-star prospect C.J. Conrad visits Ohio State: Buckeyes recruiting (Plain Dealer)

adad

COLUMBUS, Ohio – C.J. Conrad walked out of Ohio Stadium after participating in Ohio State's Friday Night Lights camp last July glowing about the opportunity to work out in one of college football's most iconic venues.

Conrad was a rising tight end prospect of LaGrange (Ohio) Keystone who simply hoped he made a play or two, anything for the Ohio State coaches to notice who he was.

"It is great that a lot has changed since then," Conrad told Cleveland.com in a recent phone interview. "But this summer is going to be big for me."
