Good morning 11W!!

I know we're all glued to the screen as we prepare to witness yet another historic Pro Day showing at the WHAC but thought this would be a nice distraction while we wait for updates on Buckeyes that will be playing on Sunday this year.

We all know that UFM wants to win everything, and we do mean everything so it should come as no surprise that we are hearing about the fastest Buckeye competition as spring practice continues to ramp up.

Here's the skinny:

Everything Ohio State does is a competition, and several of the Buckeyes recently had their top speed tested.

We say "several" because we're told the entire team was not tested -- due to various reasons such as class conflicts and being precautious in terms of injuries. However, most of the players competed in a speed drill, and junior cornerback Denzel Ward can once again say he is the fastest player on the roster.

Ward was clocked at 21.1 MPH (his top speed while running 60 yards), which isn't as fast as true freshman corner Jeffrey Okudah ran two weeks ago, but was faster than what Okudah was timed at this time around.

Impressive that a true freshman clocked the fastest times a couple of weeks ago but that sounds more like a challenge than a fact when you hear it spoken inside the WHAC.

Here's how the rest of the runners who participated fared:

Who else ran really fast? Well, here are Nos. 2-10 (OSU did not post the specific time for anyone except Ward):

2. Senior walk-on defensive back Elijaah Goins.

3. Third-year sophomore cornerback Kendall Sheffield.

4. True freshman corner Marcus Williamson.

5. Okudah.

6. Third-year sophomore wide receiver K.J. Hill.

7. Third-year sophomore corner Josh Norwood.

8. Sophomore wide receiver Binjimen Victor.

9. Sophomore corner Rodjay Burns.

10. Sophomore linebacker Malik Harrison.

Again, it is important to note that the entire team was not tested, so there is without question unnamed players that would have cracked the top 10 if they would have competed.

Also, how about the 6-foot-4, 235-pound Harrison being the only non-WR/DB to make the list? Impressive for an athlete his size.

Three of the afore mentioned speedsters are in their first year at tOSU and Jeffrey Okudah has become so well know he's simply listed as Okudah.

6'4" 235 LB listed at #10 is impressive to say the least but I'd be curious to see who didn't/wasn't able to be clocked just to see how it truly stacks up against the rest of the team. Still impressive though, sounds like a LB who will have no problem with coverage to me!

Speed kills and it sounds like there will be plenty of it on the roster @ tOSU.

So a nice little side note while we wait for updates on the Pro Day.

Don't blink though because the NFL draft entrants from Columbus have a little speed of their own and you might just miss them if you're not paying attention.

A link for those interested.
