Alex Smith - Got invite to NYC, finished 4thhttp://www.collegefootballpoll.com/2004_archive_awards.html

Chris Leak - Got his share of Heisman presshttp://www.alligatorarmy.com/2006/9/24/175832/657

Tim Tebow - Won it, and was in the mix for 3 seasons. http://heisman.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=73

Braxton Miller - Was a bona fide favorite. http://www.cleveland.com/osu/2012/12/ohio_states_braxton_miller_as.html

Kenny Guiton - Got some well-deserved Heisman attention from ESPN.http://www.espn.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/88430/miller-guiton-combo-wort...

Cardale Jones - Was the preseason Vegas odds favorite in 2015.http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2015/9/8/9280411/cardale-jones-...

JT Barrett - A current contender – ranked in preseason. http://www.oddsshark.com/ncaaf/odds-win-heisman-trophy

Even Josh Harris (BGSU) and John Brantley (Florida) Got some Heisman mention. Harris: http://www.toledoblade.com/BGSU/2003/09/08/Harris-for-Heisman.html

Brantley: http://www.espn.com/blog/sec/post/_/id/23653/off-the-radar-heisman-candi...

And, Cam Newton was next man up for Coach Meyer at Florida (if Cam hadn't had off-the-field problems). Newton took Meyer's offense to Blinn and Auburn for a couple Natty's (one a Juco) and a Heisman.

ALL Meyer's past and current QB's have Heisman stats when they get the starting job.

Count me as favoring a 2017 Quarterback Competition. Barrett, Burrow, and Haskins (add Martell maybe?). Any of them will rack up Heisman stats in an Urban Meyer offense - particularly with our new O coaching staff. And, Buckeye QB’s are supported by NFL-caliber talent at nearly EVERY position… Offense, Defense, and Special teams.

No entitlements or coronations, please. May the competition begin Go Bucks!

Edit - Bottom Line, IMO: The REAL prizes are the Team Championships; The B1G and the Natty. Any decent QB can plug into a Meyer offense and rack up Heisman stats. But which Buckeye QB is the best fit for 2017? Maybe Barrett. Maybe not.
