I'm a Jack Park wannabe an OSU history buff. I put this together for some friends and thought I'd share it here:

I was thinking about top 10 OSU teams in my lifetime that were flat out humiliated in big bowl games...and what happened next:

1972 -- ranked #3 and lost to USC, 42-17; 1973 was one of the top 3 OSU teams in my lifetime

1977 --  ranked #9 and lost to Bama, 35-6; 1978 was Woody's final season

1997 -- ranked #9 and lost to FSU 31-14; 1998 was one of top 3 OSU teams in my lifetime

2006 -- ranked #1 and 41-14; 2007 lost in BCS championship

1972 is probably the closest parallel to the 2016...1972 was young team, lost at MSU in early November then beat UM 14-11 in a classic in Columbus in which the spot of the ball went against UM twice, the loss to USC was the Sam Bam Cunningham game, 1972 USC won the national title...that FSU loss felt like 50-0, their DEs abused our tackles and nearly killed Joe Germaine

Interesting note: the 1920 team that lost 28-0 in Rose Bowl...OSU's next bowl game was 29 years later ;-)
