I think most/all are in agreement that there needs to be changes on offense and I believe Urban will make those changes. Those changes will be O-Line and play calling related hopefully. Specialists need work as well. With that said I want to look forward to the future, and in my opinion the future is bright for the following reasons:
1) Team - We have +/- 45 players with Freshman eligibility from a team that went to the CFP
2) Defense - In general the defense looked great and Schiano will be back. I think loosing Fick will hurt.
3) WR - I actually believe the wide receiver room looks good. Noah Brown, Ben Victor, Torrance Gibson (based on his tweets may be back), KJ Hill, Mack and Campbell should all be back and should all be good. (McClauren, Clark and Dixon have yet to show much of anything imho)
4) LB - If Kwon stays, which is more possible than I thought at the beginning of the year I think we should get very good LB play again. Concerned about the loss of Fick here.
5) TE - AJ Alexander seemed to play as good as Baugh, but the position is a concern as there is absolutely no depth.
6) Secondary - The back end of the defense will need to be mostly replaced but there is great depth and the freshman look to be super-talented.
7) DLine - The D-Line was a pleasant surprise. At this point I believe Johnson is a great D-Line coach and the talent is good if not elite at all positions. Getting Tyquan back would be huge.
8) QB - JT hinted he would be back. I refuse to believe he is the problem. Yes he has problems but he is not the problem. I think with good QB coaching (not Beck) he can return to 2014 form.
9) RB - Weber is good, not EzE but better than average and with some improvements can be a real staple of the offense. I assume Samuel is gone which is a problem.
10) Competition - Michigan loses nearly their entire starting lineup. PSU will be better next year and I will never take Dantonio lightly but the conference is very winnable and therefore the playoff is very attainable again.
Time to look towards next year and I like our position better than any team but 1 heading into next year.
