Over the last 4-5 years we have seen more Delay of Game and False Start penalties, more unplanned time outs used, and often what seems to be rushed, or not very strategic play calling at very critical moments in games. It has been a source of much angst amoung the OSU faithful, and also seems to be a problem that neither the team, or the coaches have been able to fix. It is just as bad one year as it was the previous.( I personally think it is what ended up costing us the PSU game.) So it begs the question, is it really the best approach ? It seems that the net result is only about 4-5 more plays per game than those who huddle, like UM. Im not saying that it cant be an advantage, but I do question if it has been an advantage for OSU. As you look at how many plays we execute vs. the other "elites", its really not very significant. It seems to do more harm than good.
