I put together some charts comparing Ohio State, its past 7 opponents this season, and included the next opponent Northwestern, as well as Michigan just to see.  Just some stats to see some things.

Offense - the chart below shows 3rd & 4th down conversions.  OSU's offense has the 3rd best 3rd down conversion percentage, and the best 4th down conversion percentage.

The chart below shows Passing Offense, sorted by yardage per attempted pass.  Ohio State has attempted 210 passes so far this season (average 30 per game). OSU is averaging 220.1 passing yards per game, for an average of 7.3 yards per attempted pass.  Completing 63.8% of passes. If just looking at completed passes, OSU is averaging 11.5 yards per completed pass.  Completion percentage is 3rd best, but OSU's offense doesn't always attempt a lot of pass plays.

The chart below shows Rushing Offense, sorted by yardage per rush attempt.  Ohio State has rushed 339 times so far this season (average 48 per game). OSU has rushed for 1,971 yards so far this season, averaging 281.6 rushing yards per game, for an average of 5.81 yards per rush attempt, which is the best out of the teams I compared them to.

The chart below shows total offensive yardage.  Ohio State has the 2nd most offensive yardage.  Highest is Oklahoma due to crazy passing and no defense in the Big 12.

The chart below shows Ohio State is beating it's opponents by an average of 30.9 points per game.

Switching to Defense:

Ohio State's opponents have had 104 3rd downs and have converted to 1st down only 30 of those, for a 28.8% success rate, third best of the teams below.  OSU's opponents have only converted 18.2% of 4th down attempts, which is by far the best.

The chart below shows OSU's rush defense has given up 847 yards to opponents this season.  Opponents average 3.23 yards per attempt, which is 2nd best of the 10 teams shown at limiting opponent yardage per attempt.

The chart below shows OSU's passing defense has given up 1,111 passing yards to opponents this season.  Opponents average 5.47 yards per pass attempt (11.8 yards per completion).  Opponents are only completing 46.3% of passes.

The chart below shows OSU's defense through week 8 has limited opponents' total offense to 1,958 yards, or 280 yards average per game.  This week's opponent, Northwestern, has been giving up a lot of passing yards to other teams, so hopefully OSU's offense can work on some pass plays.

Rutgers and Bowling Green have already played 8 games and haven't had a bye week, so any defensive total numbers might be skewed.

Any mistakes in the charts above are my fault.
