This probably shouldn't irritate me as much as it does, but does anyone else think it's a little strange that the college football media, by and large, effectively pretends that the 2011 Sugar Bowl never occurred? I know, I know, tattoogate, but the fact of the matter is that OSU beat an SEC team on the field in a BCS bowl in 2011, so it was kind of absurd when reporters and pundits talked about getting the SEC monkey off our back when we beat Bama. 

It just seems that there's a real collective amnesia in the college football world about that game ever taking place. Hell, I rarely ever hear Buckeye fans mention it. Sometimes I have to Google it just to make sure it actually took place in material reality. I know it was vacated, but no one pretends that the 2004 USC national title game didn't happen just because they got retroactively stripped.
