We all know of how epic this next draft is going to be from a visual standpoint. When you break it down into numbers though, it could be insanity.
Allow me to break this down into a point system (1st Round Pick = 7 Points, 2nd Round Pick = 6 Points, Etc.), and measure Ohio States numbers dating back to 1994 (when the draft became 7 rounds).
Top 5 (# Of Draft Picks):
#1: 2004 (14) #2: 2006 (9) T#3: 1995/1999/2002 (8)
Top 5 (Draft Score):
#1: 2004 (60) #2: 2006 (53) #3: 1995 (41) #4: 1999 (39) #5: 2009 (37)
Top 5 (Draft Score/# Of Players Drafted):
#1: 2006 (5.889) #2: 2005 (5.333) #3: 2009 (5.286) #4: 1997 (5.143) #5: 1995 (5.125)
Lets make the assumption that all 14 players Ohio State has entered gets drafted. That ties them for #1 in terms of total players drafted. The spots in which they get drafted will make up their score. I firmly believe that come May, we will witness the greatest draft class in Ohio State history.
With an okay draft, I think they'll tie 2004. But with an extra lift from the combine and their pro days, they could reach up into the 70's.
